Just because you're making money from a coin doesn't make it a successful project and I'll explain why. A successful crypto project should have a purpose(use), it should have a constantly growing community and the coin should be consistently developing. If the coin does not meet these criterias then it's not a successful project despite how much you make from it. In some other sense people may just feel because it's making them money then it's successful forgetting that people are also losing at the same time on same said coin probably due to time of entry. Early birds usually benefit more from such projects and when they start leaving and price rapidly falls, the late comers suffer the loss.

Which successful, many people were lucky to make much money in some shit shitty thats no where to be found today, it is practical that shit remains shit. The successful project that we have seen so far, are those projects that has been in existence and following Bitcoin footsteps, we can mention ETH, BNB, SOL and many more. To me I can only say a project is successful if it continues to be relevant in the market as it has been, irrespective of how much investors has made from the project.

Why all these questions are necessary is because, there are coins that experience massive price increase because of hype, social media attention, speculation or a temporary increase in demand. During the period early investors make massive profit, but when the excitement disappears wonders go happen and people go lose money weting no good.
This is subjective, you know that you can make money from a coin and there are other people that can lose to you. Before you sell a coin, there are other people on other side that are bidding and expecting the price to go up and if eventually the price refuse to make it to another all time high, they are going to make loss while you be in your profit as you have sold. You will be seeing the coin from good side and another people who lost will be seeing as bad. I think the only way for a coin to be generally successful is when everyone makes money, in that case it should be a coin that has a pump and never dump. Coins like bnb used to be traded at cheap price but look at the price today, it's doing well and you can call such coin a successful one. There are more examples them that are still in good profit, they never in any time dump on people.

I believe that one of the biggest errors people make, is thinking that just because a coin has made some people rich, that automatically indicate that the project must be good. At times people were only fortunate to have invested on the project early and they were able to sell before serious problems starts.
Another thing that I also pay my attention to is when a project promises significant increases in prices without giving people very good information about the progress made in the project. And at the point, anyone that doesn't want to hear a story later on should just take a little time and do some research before even thinking of investing.

Well, that's because the majority of those who invest in these projects are more concerned with what they can benefit and not necessarily what becomes of the project especially once they've secured a profit for themselves. Unlike Bitcoin, where a lot of people were attracted to its technology and the problems it addresses in the modern world, thereby making them to stick around for a longer period... I doubt if people see other projects in the same way. But, does making money alone from a project prove that the project is successful?
Not really, especially when looking at it from a general pov and not just from the investor's pov. But again, the genuine purposes behind these projects also determines that. Take for example, a project was only created for a short-term pump and dump and successfully achieved that. If you ask me, I think that's a success because that was what it was specifically created for... But again, no project comes with such information, so it's difficult to tell whether they're intended for the short-term or long-term.

One thing most people are interested in is making profits from altcoins. Unless you plan to hold them for the long term, you don't need to know too much about the coin itself. Since they are altcoins, your main focus should be making profits so you don't end up holding them at a loss when the price crashes. Most altcoins have little to no real purpose beyond making profits for investors and developers. That is why many projects focus more on making money than on having a real purpose or providing value.

Few had benefited from spaceX from it's IPO price, infact, early buyers after stock listings are in losses. What do you think about the tokenized SPCX, about the project-To do well right because Elon Musk owns it.
The same goes with crypto assets, good investors and joint ventures behind but the returns on investment are in losses because market doesn't care about such, the same way market doesn't care about Elon behind SPCX.
Whether assets t gives out profit or not, the project potential is what stands out over time, the profits may not come now, but the use cases is what stands the test of time.

Far from it. Even scam and weak projects one time gave people some hell of a profits you know, but did that make them a successful one? As a matter of fact, I don’t even think there’s any project that people have not made money from. You need to also know that in some coins, while others are making money, there are also others who are actually losing, in fact it’s also a less gain, more losses thing. So gaining or making money from a project doesn’t prove that the project is a good one or would be a successful one.
Good response you gave. All projects are good projects until investors start losing money. The funny thing is that people are investing in all the projects, there is none without any investor. A project can present itself as worthy of investing in it but along the line it might turn out to be the worst project. The only reason why most people do lose money in a particular project is because they invest because of FOMO and public opinion. I will say that a project can be termed as successful if it has encountered tough moments and still remain firm, and also if it has the ability of a potential growth and sustainability in the long term.

But, does making money alone from a project prove that the project is successful? As for me, buying a particular crypto for $100, and selling it months later for $1000 doesn't automatically mean the project is doing well
There are some questions you should ask about the project.
First, does the project have real purpose? Second, are the developers still working on it? Third, is the community growing naturally? Lastly, are people actually using the coin for what it was created to do, or are they buying it simply because they expect the price to increase?
Why all these questions are necessary is because, there are coins that experience massive price increase because of hype, social media attention, speculation or a temporary increase in demand. During the period early investors make massive profit, but when the excitement disappears wonders go happen and people go lose money weting no good.
For me, money is the most important factor when it comes to measuring if a coin or project is successful or not. And if a coin that I invested $100 in last month could generate me 10x profit of the invested amount, then I can boldly say that the coin has been successful. Because it's very hard to see a coin pump 10x value if it literally doesn't have a real-world value where it solves a particular problem in the crypto community. Because a coin that doesn't have a real purpose, a dedicated developers and an active community will rarely last for a month and still remain valuable. Because if the coin just pump 10x and then dies down automatically, it will be regarded as a failure.

So if you invested $100 on Luna in years ago before it crashed, but before it crashed, you made X10 already and you sold it. Later the coin fall from almost $120 to $0.0000004. is that a successful coin? Many altcoins did not fail but their prices keep declining after a long period of time. Are those successful projects? They are not successful projects.

In addition, simply surviving tough times alone doesn’t automatically prove a project is worth investing in. It’s possible for certain projects to remain standing for years but their investors are either losing money or making little to no profits. The most important thing should be whether the project is actually delivering real values and whether it’s also giving people a genuine reason to remain involved beyond the hype and the speculation that surrounds the project.

Well, even scammers makes so much money only for a crash and the project is gone forever. It has been an easy unrealistic measure the public has usually used to access a project. That there is so much money came or is coming doesn't mean that a project is successful. A project standing the test of time and economic impacts small, medium and serious are attributes of success in the project, also serving it's purpose, as well having the trust of the general public are formidable forms of successes for a project not just the money made.

No. You can generate money from a coin without the cycle not completed and a trade can be successful without every investor making profit. There are also factors that makes a coin successful which are : Adoption Sustainability Utility Token economics etc

They call those kind of coins pump and dumps for a reason, they might give profit to some early lucky investors but long term profits is never guaranteed. They're never successful projects, any coin that can't sustain wealth or store value or even be adopted for long term use case of any kind isn't a successful project.

The activities which you have described contributes in making the project successful. Let me explain: A new coin is lunched, say "coin X" with an initial selling price of 1350 Naira and its aim is to serve as a digital P2P payment system. An investor sees this as an opportunity and invest massively in the project. Suppose in the next 5 years the coin is now selling for 500,000 naira, meaning that as those who invested start celebrating across social media, it makes the project more popular, making more users to participate and by participating, they are making the project achieve its goals. It is called symbiosis, the investors gain and the project also gets closer to achieving its goals and objectives.

Ok, this is where you're wrong. Many projects have caused people to lose without anyone gaining any profit. Many, many projects. This statement you made is what a newbie would say due to a lack of experience in the crypto world. Perhaps the people who got profit from these projects are the developers because it was meant for scam. Legit investors and traders lose their money. I've been there before. You need to also know that in some coins, while others are making money, there are also others who are actually losing, in fact it’s also a less gain, more losses thing. So gaining or making money from a project doesn’t prove that the project is a good one or would be a successful one.
Yes, this is true for some coins. This has nothing to do with spam/fake coins. With fake coins, the scammers are the ones who profit while every other person loses.
