Munex is a blockchain focused on persistent spatial computation.
Instead of making mining purely about conventional computation, Munex introduces a persistent, evolving 3D spatial environment into the mining process.
Each miner is assigned its own 3D maze, initially starting at 5 × 5 × 5.
Within the maze, miners must navigate toward a continuously moving endpoint. Successfully reaching the endpoint allows the miner to expand their maze.
However, the maze is not a static environment.
A decaying spatial entity continuously moves through the maze and pursues the miner. If it reaches the miner, the maze shrinks.
This creates a persistent environment where miners must continuously navigate, maintain, and expand their spatial territory.
How can I mine a block?
Munex operates on a 50-second block cycle
Every 50 seconds, a lottery determines which miner gets to produce the next block.
A miner's probability of being selected is weighted by the size of their maze.
This means that maintaining and expanding your maze directly increases your probability of producing a block.
The mazes are also continuously changing and mutating, rather than remaining identical over time. The goal is for the spatial environment to behave more like a living system than a conventional static data structure.
How can I use Munex?
Munex is designed around applications that can make use of persistent spatial state
One of its primary concepts is Spatial Contracts
Spatial Contracts are a Munex-specific extension to the EVM, allowing smart contracts to interact with spatial state and use properties such as:
- Position
- Distance
- Movement
- Topology
- Spatial relationships
- Maze state
This could enable applications such as:
- Web3 games
- Spatial multiplayer environments
- Persistent virtual worlds
- Spatial marketplaces
- Procedurally generated environments
- Autonomous-agent environments
- Spatially-aware smart contracts
Munex could also provide an interesting environment for AI spatial intelligence research, including training and evaluating models that interact with persistent 3D environments.
What happens if I hit a wall?
If a miner accidentally hits a wall, they must complete a short spatial proof-of-work (PoW) challenge.
This is not a conventional PoW challenge.
The challenge is generated using information about the miner's current position within the maze.
The miner's location can contribute to the challenge seed, while other properties of the maze and its current state can also influence the generated challenge.
In other words:
Where you are in the maze influences the computational challenge you receive.
This ties the computational work directly to the miner's current spatial state.
Can I build on Munex?
Yes.
Munex is EVM-compatible, meaning developers can use familiar Ethereum development tools, smart-contract languages, and existing EVM knowledge to build applications. Instead of traditional smart contracts, on munex, we have a different approach mentioned above called spatial contracts, where the contracts live WITHIN the chain, inside the miners' mazes.
What is the Current Status?
Munex was in its testnet stage a little while back but it was ended, mainnet is soon to launch with it being expected in late october and allready by the community miners are being built.
