Do you think they have a point, and should sports prediction markets be regulated under the same laws as traditional sports betting?
According to what many people have posted on
this thread, prediction markets are offering gambling products and that make them to be gambling sites.
Because they don't have license on those countries, so we cannot make it as a comparison.
We are talking of kalshi here, the competitor of poly, which are only license in US.
So if you ask about whether the sport aspect of prediction markets are gambling, definitely yes, they are gambling.
Some people can say that sport part of it are gambling, but not all products that they are are gambling.
I think this case, the one that will decide will be the government as they are the ones regulating it.
And to the point that this has already brought to the supreme court, we will see the finality of decision on this case, and if its considered as sports betting ,then a lot will change for sure. one possible thing i see, they will not be allowed to offer sports contract.
