Lets be honest now, there are some jobs that AI already has eyes for and it isn't any useful still having people do them like personal assistant that AI can do perfectly for you in reminding you about meetings, appointments etc that you have scheduled with accuracy and not having any human error but 40% that's too much of jobs to be lost and even though it happens not on the first fee years of time but probably in the far future. AI aren't even ready to take on all this responsibility and we haven't developed them enough but that could happen in the future but if you upgraded your skills then you'll be useful and not he threaten by AI replacing you. There are jobs that aren't necessary anymore but we have those of high values that we can't replace with AI irrespective of how we develop these AI to become.
Our focus must be on how to upgrade our skills, so we have no threat from AI in coming years. Its a reality that AI has already taken over many jobs and this trend will continue in coming years also. If we don't pay any attention to AI and keep living in illusion that we have no threat from AI then we don't have any option in case our role was taken over by AI on one fine morning. Already we have seen example like Oracle firing almost 21k of its global employees without any prior notice because of company shift towards AI. We just need to keep our eyes open in this AI dominated era.

The only reason why many people feel threaten by AI replacing them is because those companies they are working under might decide to adopt AI so as to reduce the expenses of the company, because AI does not get paid they can render service for free rather; the only thing they need is just to fuel them and also service them if they are not functioning properly. But in all I still believe that AI can not take our job completely, because AI can not function effectively without humans. I have gone to places where they were making us of AI and they employed people that will give them direction as they can't do everything by themselves. so that is to show that even though AI is all over the world there will be job opportunities.

/snip Maybe specialists doctors will be there to oversee but already we are seeing more machinery involved in all kind of surgery and what if we just automate it and give instructions to the machine which can do it even better if we develop it as a complete device. But other fields such as agriculture already gone through the process, before 100 years people doing most of the work but now just a couple person can take care of huge corn field with the help of machine and guess what humans survived the changes so they will.
Well, a corn field and a human surgery are not the same thing. Would you agree to (just giving an example) have someone close to you operated on by a machine, while the surgeon only supervises? I intentionally mentioned surgeons, doctors, because i believe AI or some machine will never be able to replace them. As for some other things, like you said, a corn field, i'm sure it will make things easier, but humans will still do all that work. Even now some people who want to work in programming simply can't find a job, or those who worked as programmers are currently losing their jobs because of AI, because it is replacing humans in more and more jobs. Unfortunately, that's how it is, technology is advancing, and the only jobs AI won't be able to replace are those that require skills, such as surgeons, doctors in general, people who work in some trades and similar. That's the future where a person will still depend only on themselves
This is true, with some qualifications. Its probably not going to be only doctors and skilled tradespeople who will be safe from AI. And programming jobs arent going to disappear either, but its quite possible that firms will need fewer programmers to perform an equivalent amount of work. What concerns me, though, is that even if AI increases opportunities overall, that transition may still be painful for a lot of people. New jobs are not necessarily going to be taken up by those who lose theirs. A programmer isnt going to become an electrician or a surgeon tomorrow morning. Learning new skills takes time and money. It will be interesting to see whether people are able to adapt fast enough to deal with changes in the market. It depends on what time you were born in, younger generations will definitely have a problem. Fewer and fewer young people want to become electricians, surgeons or something similar. From what I can see, many of them are interested in computers and somehow want to get everything easily. I hope there will be exceptions who will know how to choose the right job. You're right that learning new skills takes time, but if you focus enough on it and if you're interested enough, you surely won't go hungry

almost 40 percent of global employment is exposed to AI I do not think that it is only that 40% of global employment is exposed to AI, I believe it is more than that, even a house maid is exposed to AI, what more all those office works. Even people who are studying are already exposed to AI at a young age. Do you already use AI in the workplace?
Anyone who is using a computer or mobile phone is exposed to AI and most of them are already using AI on their workplace. AI is good for data search and much more. Those who are into graphics and design also seek AI assistance, while it has been known that even in the music industry, AI-created music and music video is already live and streaming.

AI will and has already replaced some human jobs, but it is not taking over the role completely. On the other hand AI has also presented new opportunities that help as people successfully increase revenue, such as creating digital animated content. So basically you have to adapt to AI while still being in control. Because originality, ideas and creativity are still the benchmark that the work you produce still has character, life and meaning.

It is automatically seen on top of Google search results.
Yes, Google rates it more than themselves because AI answer comes first before Google search results. It shows how AI is way too smart than Google search when every questions are arranged in a simple way. I overheard those saying, AI is damaging the students zeal to learn and I was curious to question them that isn't the world about civilization? Bring something new that solves the old problems of hardwork, that's the purpose of technology and applications.

Do you already use AI in the workplace?
See AI like when computer was created. If you do not use it, you are missing a lot of things. Anyone that have not used AI before should test it and see how they work. But they lose their jobs also. Those who were slow to adapt over time and ignored computer use are left behind and replaced by those who can use computers well. The current situation is like that. AI is dangerous; at the same time, it's a blessing. Those who can't accept it are the most affected by it.
Most likely, jobs that are entry-level, like data entry or very basic tasks, will be affected the most. There was a time when you would find hundreds of gigs on Fiverr just to remove the background of an image. Over time this job has cease to exist.

The chances of AI completely taking over surgery are none. Using AI will aid a surgeon in making precision cuts and making decisions during a surgery, but it will not be able to make decisions on its own, do everything, and conduct a surgery without a specialist doctor present. No hospital will take a risk that could jeopardize its reputation. Yes, someone is there to see it and even command the operation of the steps involved in it but without doing the surgery himself, and future is uncertain so we can't think this will never happen. If we just go back to 50 years and say in future people will be using a small device that almost holds the entire world in it and libraries, watches, calculators and hundred other gadgets will become worthless then people would have laughed but now it is happening already. Even with advanced AI in the future, you will still need a doctor to perform those intricate functions. We now have keyhole surgery, and while automation will help in some aspects, it is a different story for full autonomy. I am well aware of research experiments regarding complete automation, including successful automated surgeries on animals. However, conducting the same experiments on humans is a huge risk because any number of undocumented anomalies can happen in real-world scenarios that an AI simply could not anticipate. What you mentioned about information processing is true; fifty years ago, no one would have dreamed of the smartphone. But even if there is a glitch in a phone, you can overcome it with a simple backup. That is not the case when you are operating on a real human being, as one glitch could end a life. When you take those stakes into account, I highly doubt we will ever see complete automation for human surgery.

IMF did not say AI will take over 40% of all jobs
In essence, I don't care about the percentage statement reported by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), regarding the impact that Artificial Intelligence / AI has on jobs. What is clear and the facts in the field I have seen is that there are companies that used to use AI as a substitute for humans in work, but now it has reversed course, these companies are returning to recruiting and employing humans again, they are starting to realize the limitations of AI so far. The reason companies return to using human labor. • Al from one side does not equal experience. • Al cannot interact directly with customers. • Al cannot think critically. • Al has no creativity. • Al cannot make decisions that involve ethics and cannot be empathetic like humans. • Al cannot assume leadership. So for the reasons I mentioned above, the impact of using AI in their company's economy has dropped sharply, many customers no longer buy products from that company, because of the reasons above, service is not efficient, so companies are recruiting people again to be hired again so that their economy can return to normal, so with an incident like this, whether AI can replace all human jobs, clearly not.

When we talk about technology, the word "AI" automatically comes to mind, and its importance in our society keeps growing. Many people think AI is a threat to human jobs, and to some extent they are right. At the industrial level, AI is already used as a tool for repetitive processes such as packing. But will AI really destroy human jobs? In my opinion, that is largely a myth. AI is just a tool, and it is also an opportunity for individuals to make money.
If we learn how to use it, we can start businesses with it, and with proper management, our chances of success will gradually increase. If we have a good understanding of business and a creative idea, we can use the power of AI to succeed and build wealth. Without that, AI cannot do anything on its own.The important is that we should not be afraid of AI. Instead, we should learn how to use it and develop new skills.

Yes, exactly what is happening. But if you make more findings, you will see that AI have created more jobs than reducing jobs. So AI increase employment and not reduce employment. I am referring to both employers employing employees and self-employment. Anyone that do not go to the direction the world is going will be left behind. That is how life has been.

Whether AI will take 40% of all jobs or not, I think people again are missing the point of this message. The point is not that AGI is coming, or that AI has advanced to the point where it will basically do all the work.
The message is that AI is a fantastic scapegoat to money printing. The bankers have found their golden goose they can use to justify printing money by imposing Universal Basic Income that will make people become even more dependent to their governments, and give up their few square of freedoms left.
It doesn't matter if AI is superintelligence or not. What matters is what the people believe, and the people's opinions are shaped by media.

It has forced everyone to learn due to the fear that it has given that they'll remove and replace jobs. Somehow, it's a good occurrence because forcing us to learn the tool itself for the productivity makes us don't want to lose in the job market. While it has made more jobs too but, it's sad that there are people who lost jobs due to it but yes, those who don't know how to use it will lose theirs.

but i would rather educate myself on how to use these tools than freak out because of a headline, it is the same fud we see in the crypto world.
Exactly but it is not romanticized because the situation is real and AI is already being used and replaced human labor workforce. And that's why I am believing more those people who are saying that people who don't know how to use AI will be replaced by those who know how to. Like in the past ages, I think there's also this dilemma that they have experienced when the machines have been invented for manufacturing and made production faster. It's the same as what we're having although one sad reality is that, it's replacing a lot of workforce that can't adapt. This is a sad reality for those workers who are struggling to adapt AI, but this could also be an advantage for the employers and company owners because they don't have to go through expensive manpower expenses because of limited workers now. Furthermore, this creates a big challenge for fresh graduates entering the workforce as they have to face the highest risk and prove to their employers that they can learn well through AI and easily adapt those AI skills, otherwise they won't be given the opportunity to work and make good compensation.

Do you already use AI in the workplace?
People should not ignore the risk. AI is reducing the number of workers in any industry although it is not replacing 40% of all jobs. It is quite a concern that because of the lack of opportunities for beginners, they won't be able to gain experience. Companies can start using AI tools for better experience as they are faster and come at a lower cost. It is a good solution to learn AI but it is not a complete solution for everyone. I think it is also responsibility of companies, government and educational institutions to prepare workers for these changes. And in most educational sectors, they have incorporated AI related courses for students to learn for the better outcomes and to help them fit into the environment. Otherwise, there is going to be gap between those who have adapted to the changes and those who cannot. AI is going to create new opportunities but we should make sure that its benefits reach ordinary workers as well not only be limited to the businesses, while workers have to bear the cost.
