Let us distinguish between custodial mixer's which are centralized and none custodial tools like self hosts network when we are talking about privacy in Bitcoin and other decentralized assets. Evaluation of the risks we fund that their are not equal in terms of risks.

ChipMixer and the others were seized based on federal enforcement orders such as the FBI and this happens when either such operators are arrested for criminal charges or on the run and the site have to get seized with all customers datas inclusive.
Mixers are not illegal by law but if a mixer is used by sanctioned entities like Lazarus group from North Korea or IRGC from Iran, that mixer will turn to illegal and face with seizure from governments and some agencies.

About one year ago, eXch.cx operated well before their service used by Lazarus group and it was seized by government. With mixers, the verge between legal and illegal operation is very small, and it's hilarious if mixer KYC their users.

Its quiet absurd, when they are using mixers and then their activities is opposite with that action they made. Since if they keep exposing their wealth online, then they are just wasting their time using mixers or any privacy tools.

Because eventually, people might still traced them that they have huge amount of money in their possession.

If they care about complete anonymity, they should block all means that can give idea to people that they are holding funds. Also better stay low key all the time to avoid any problems.
Exactly, those who live a private life are less likely to be targeted by scammers or hackers. Showing off wealth online or to people isn’t necessarily, except they are already prepared for whatever the outcome may be, but whenever that happens, they shouldn’t blame the wallet’s security flaws or anyone else but themselves.

Scammers are really getting smarter and they only need one to make just one mistake and you just don’t know what mistake would be, that’s why it’s always crucial to be cautious at every point in time.

Mixers are not illegal by law but if a mixer is used by sanctioned entities like Lazarus group from North Korea or IRGC from Iran, that mixer will turn to illegal and face with seizure from governments and some agencies.
There is no definite mixer law, FinCen has stated that the mixer is not illegal as long as it prioritizes privacy, this area is also still unclear whether we use this mixer is still safe if in the end the coin ends up on the exchange? Often exchanges hold coins that come from mixers.

Hackers are now laundering more money on TornadoCash, which means that mixer is not as full of crime, right? Still, for me using a mixer is still illegal, not a matter of privacy.

About one year ago, eXch.cx operated well before their service used by Lazarus group and it was seized by government. With mixers, the verge between legal and illegal operation is very small, and it's hilarious if mixer KYC their users.
Mixer implements KYC or AML checks then this is not much different from other instant exchanges, I don't think mixer will do that.

Even though we keep saying that privacy matters people still willing to sacrifice their privacy, information or identify in exchange for having a convenience. So even we keep saying stay away with the CEX or any service that requires a KYC still people prefer those who used and trusted by other people because of easy access. Crypto created for anonymity and privacy but because it's part of the compliance to operate and services, they require now to submit a mandatory KYC to avoid doing transaction that against the law such as AML. But I guess sooner or later once the users realize the purpose of this they will shift right away.

I don't know, but there are still people in the crypto world that really flaunts their riches. Maybe that's how they are build or just simply want to show off their hard earn money from investing in Bitcoin or crypto in general.

And for that, they are going to be an easy target for criminals as they can follow you in your social media and then one day you will be attack physically as what we have seen this year, as there are a rise of numbers of attacks.

Real rich dude will not flaunt their wealth, but those pretentious people usually do that. Maybe they do that in purpose to catch the attention of people.

That's why I will be more careful dealing, also believing on their claims. Because we don't know what they are intentions. Maybe they are trying to lure us and scam us in the end.

So usually I ignore those dudes and just focus on realistic things, because its hard to deal with boastful and criminal minded people.
