I’m a little surprised that Manny Pacquiao is still fighting. Last I heard he was addicted to cocaine and struggling to get by but maybe I’m thinking of someone else? I’m also surprised that if he is still able to book big fights, that there are people out there who would still line up to pay to see him fight.
Probably a different guy. I mean, Pacquiao is estimated to be worth $220M, at least according to Google. As for him still getting fights, his name is still big in the boxing scene, and with the draw he got against Barrios after his 4 year retirement probably boosted his name. Also, the money that comes from fighting him is probably one of the reasons why there are boxers willing to fight him(same for Manny).

If Pacman really need money and is missing real boxing in his life, then why not make Pacman vs Mayweather 2 for real. That one fight will give both good money, and that is the fight everyone will want to watch. Make it one and for real, instead of hyping in media about my-next-big-fight numerous times.
As far as I remember, they were contracted to fight in a sanctioned match, but Mayweather wants it to be an exhibition match only. The fight is postponed indefinitely. The fight still has a chance to happen, but it would probably be up to Mayweather whether he wants to go through with the fight, but if he decides to completely abandon the fight, he'd probably have to pay a fine for breaching the contract.

I'm really curious to see Pacquiao fight Khan, because from what I've read about Khan, he is fast with his hands and his footwork, and I'm curious how Pacquiao will fare against someone like him.

https://www.boxingscene.com/articles/amir-khan-happy-with-numbers-and-location-for-manny-pacquiao-showdown
TBH, I would just love to see this fight as an exhibition fight rather than a main event or even a co-main event on one of the boxing events out there.

Pacquiao is already 47 while Khan is 39 years old. We could say that they're at their post-prime years already, so I don't see this as a main event at all. I mean I know that Manny is Manny and whatever happens, he will always have fans who love to see him fight, but will the people want to see this as a main event even though there's no title that's being fought around it? I've seen some videos of Manny still having some sparring with other people, but I haven't seen videos of Khan.

I don't want to say who will be the winner of this fight because a rumor will remain a rumor until it becomes final. Wink

I’m definitely betting on Manny Pacquiao! He’s a LEGEND - he has unmatched stamina, experience, and has remained consistently active in recent years! Amir Khan, if I’m not mistaken, retired in 2022 after losing to Kell Brook, and I haven’t seen him in regular action since - that’s a very long hiatus. And let’s not forget about his "glass jaw".

Both are amazing fighters . But still I think manny pacquiao have more advantage especially at his prime , doesn’t mean Amir is not a good fighter . He also have good record too , with his known lightening fast punches and throwing combinations in quick succession ( he isn’t called one of the fasted boxer for nothing ). But manny in the other hand have more explosive power, with his amazing record of 62 wins, 8 losses and 3 draws.  His literally a legend , not to mention his relentless attacks, and unpredictable angles. Like you mentioned earlier Amir long hiatus from boxing can also put him in disadvantage too . But still both are good and I’ve watched their fights , well this not a match you will want to miss .

Looks like talks are happening between Amir Khan's camp and Manny's camp about a possible fight.
Well, when we talk about boxing between Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan it looks interesting, because the two of them have never officially met in the ring, In the past I had heard rumors of plans for a fight between Pacquiao and Amir but it never happened, hopefully this time it won't change and the two of them will actually happen in the ring officially.

When we look at their fighting records, of course both have good boxing records, Amir Khan has 34 wins (21 KOs), 6 losses, while Manny Pacquiao has 62 wins (39 KOs), 8 losses, 2 draws, of course this record is not a basic guideline for boxing this time for both of them, In terms of experience, it is clear that Pacquiao is superior to the "historical record", however in the world of boxing nothing is eternal, age, strength, energy, retirement age and so on also need to be taken into consideration to become the best boxer.

Amir Khan needs to be fast with his footwork because of his glass chin. Amir has the weakest chin in boxing, many of his losses come from knockouts because of his weak chin. One of the worst is in his match against Canelo.

It's one of the scariest knockouts I have ever seen. Amir was out before he hit the canvas, and he was out for a few minutes even Canelo was so worried, so in every Amir Khan fight the chin is a big worry.

He is a living legend. He's definitely extraordinary stamina. I’m going to place a bet on him too.
Amir Khan also possessed incredible speed, he was an explosive boxer with fast hands, which is why he was always considered a special fighter. I admire the fighting spirit of both men it’s going to be a great match. Smiley

I wonder at this point what Pacquiao is still looking for.
Is it the money or the fame? He has all of these.
If he is fighting as an undercard, the expectations will be high and that he would be Khan but what if it is the other way around?
I will not be happy if this youngster beat a veteran but then at this point in time, it looks like this is all about money and nothing more.

Well, we might see that Manny Pacquiao is after for the money on this fight, but I think his desire to fight is fueled by his passion.  We cannot make an old boxer retire because he is old, as long as the burning passion is still in his eyes, we can still see him looking for matches after this match if ever the rumor becomes reality.

Manny has the wealth to support his candidacy if he ever plans to run in this coming election.  Aside from that, I think Manny still misses the feeling of winning a match and the crowd cheering him so he wanted to feel it again.

Yeah, this will be the liability of Amir Khan in this match, and Manny knowing this makes it more dangerous for Amir Khan.  I see a knockout in this match if this ever happens.  Manny will surely target and exploit this weakness.

I also think that betting on Pacquiao would seem like natural choice to many. However, I won't straightaway assume he is winner based on his past reputation. Although he has edge in term of experience, his speed and physical capabilities are no longer what they used to be due to his age.

To me, Khan's long layoff is biggest question mark. However, it is also worth remembering that Pacquiao is no longer fighter he was in his prime. I saw his draw against Mario Barrios last year. He can still be competitive but I don't think that guaranty any victory over Khan. And while there is talk of Khan’s glass jaw, outcome of current matchup cannot be determined solely by looking at past knockout. What matter more is whether Pacquiao can pressure Khan with his speed and angle or if Khan will control distance using his fast combination.

If nothing change we will see who wins on 11th Dec match, both fighters have no much age gap and both hard incredible boxing career, the match have been much awaited as the talk's have been on for over years and finally both side have confirmed to their possibility of meeting, there is already a promoter already and the advert ticket sales is going to be out soon, just getting the agreement with date and venue for the fight to avoid it clashing with other top boxing matches in the lineup.

It seems everyone wants to have a piece of Manny Pacquiao. Amir is already retired, but he wants to make a great comeback and create a legacy by beating Pacquiao. Compared to other fighters who were recently pitted against Manny, with the exception of Mayweather, Amir's fight is a good option for Manny.

Amir is not an exceptionally great fighter, his greatest weakness is his chin, and he is not even a hard puncher he just relies on speed and footwork, which makes him beatable for Manny. Let's see if they will finalize this fight.

Of course the money is tempting, they will certainly want to fight him.
Because in his last fight against Barrios he reportedly made around $18 million more or less, including his PPV revenue share.

Amir Khan biggest payday was around $11 million, that's when he loss to Canelo.

Amir is not an exceptionally great fighter, his greatest weakness is his chin,

That is his trademark.  Cheesy

... "I've seen some numbers which I’m happy with and I’ve seen a location which I’m happy with".
Imagine what they're reducing the game of boxing to. It's becoming like wrestling, not the war we knew boxing to be in the past. It's all about the numbers now for boxers. It's entertainment with those in the ring counting on their take home and not the bragging rights of what defeat they're recording. I'm sure if the famed Mohammed Ali were alive, with the way promoters are going to old cargoes, they might have muted the idea to him of coming out of retirement to take one more shot.

Quote
For anyone curious, there were rumours going around that Pacquiao could be fighting as an undercard in Joshua vs Fury, and Amir Khan is one of the possible boxers he was supposed to fight.
Imagine the famed Pacman fighting as a side attraction. Dude should just leave the ring and rest. He has made the money and fame. What's he still doing in the ring?

I’m definitely betting on Manny Pacquiao! He’s a LEGEND - he has unmatched stamina, experience, and has remained consistently active in recent years! Amir Khan, if I’m not mistaken, retired in 2022 after losing to Kell Brook, and I haven’t seen him in regular action since - that’s a very long hiatus. And let’s not forget about his "glass jaw".
As far as Manny goes, of course, he is the older one and so there are a lot of changes in his body. But the thing with Amir Khan is that he has a glass chin. And there's no way that you can fix in in training or whatever you do to it.

That's why majority of us are thinking that an inactive Amir Khan then his glass chin is a recipe for Manny to knockout him out. Regardless of the venue of this fight, this are going to be a sell-out as Manny has a lot of fans around the world.

It's all about money. He has lost 2 major national elections in a row. That cost him a lot, and maybe that's why he came out of retirement. Maybe he is trying to recover a bit of his expenses from the past 2 elections and get ready to run again in the next election. He knows he can still generate money even at his age, so that is what he is doing now. As for fame, at this point, I don't think he is still after fame. He doesn't care about that anymore. It's all about money.

For some reason I think that this fight will never happen. As usually whole story wont come far from just talks. While two are ready to show war in the ring, I dont think there would many would want to make this fight happen (invest money in promotion and pay fighters their millions) as money wont pay off. One has retired when his crystal chin was no longer able to hold the punch, other is old. One was a huge star, other one is close to be forgotten (I bet young boxing fans dont even know who Khan is).

Everyone has been telling that for years but he seemed to be in need of money still, this is a big one time pay check still for him that can be spent in helping his people.

As long as he's relevant, whether he's an underdog for a match and if the price is right. It's not a big concern for Manny.

The love for the sport is there and he's still incentivizing his popularity with that, I want him to retire completely but looks not gonna happen within in the couple of years.

Everyone has been telling that for years but he seemed to be in need of money still, this is a big one time pay check still for him that can be spent in helping his people.
What people is he helping? Was that what he said he would use the money for? Anyway, he's a politician. Politicians don't fly straight, so to say. I wouldn't be surprised if he said so but I won't believe him if he did. He had glorious years in boxing and made piles of money from it, he could also help out from those past wins if it were so.

Money shouldn't be everything. You ought to know what Pacman was in his prime. There should be a place for bragging rights and dignity of human persons in whatever we do. Pacman should stop all these stuff he's doing. He's gradually losing respect and his fan base. Imagine Mayweather doing same.

I want to see him beaten severely so he learns his lesson and rest.

Everyone has been telling that for years but he seemed to be in need of money still, this is a big one time pay check still for him that can be spent in helping his people.

Manny's Saln wayback 2020 is around US$65.8 million and recently, net-worth.vip suggest that the current networth of money ballooned to $220m, although unofficial, can easily support his candidacy for the next election.

Though I agree that he wanted to fight to add more funds to his stash.  I think anyone would like that.  Doing your passion while erning huge amount of money.

The love for the sport is there and he's still incentivizing his popularity with that, I want him to retire completely but looks not gonna happen within in the couple of years.

I think Manny still feels the power is there.  So I guess we can see Manny in action for another 2 years.  Reminds me of boxers who fought at an age of more than 50 years old like  Steve Ward who fought at age 65 and won.

What an interesting read. To also find women on that list who boxed into their old age wowed me. I believe there could also be more who aren't captured on that too. Perhaps, Pacman is chasing an old veteran record like them too. I wish him all the luck he wants, then.
