Not gonna happen. Team Pacquiao's move at this stage of Manny's career is calculated. They will wisely choose their opponent to see if it is beatable and not gonna pose harm to the legend. The last time he fought, people were concerned that Manny would be hurt but against Mario Barrios who was the weakest champion in the welterweight division at that time, he nearly win and he wasn't hurt badly so Barrios was a good choice.

For his next fight, it would be best if it would be Mayweather as that is the fight Manny was longing for and the safest but Amir Khan will do good also considering that Khan hasn't fought for many years and for me he doesn't have something that could cause concern for Pacquiao.

I reckon that the camp of Manny and no offense to his fans as I'm also a big fan of Manny, they want to get a tailor made fighter for Manny to look good and win. They almost did it against Barrios as he is the weakest champion during that time. And just imagine Manny winning that fight, he might have face the likes of Ryan Garcia and other good 147 lbs.

I think that is the right thing to do because they are just protecting Manny given that he is already old although he can still fight.
At least if they fight, it won't be an exhibition fight, so we can be assured that it's a real competition.

And probably that's another reason for Manny to still continuing to fight at his age of almost 50 years old. Although Asian has somewhat has that ability to slow down their aging process, it could probably on what they eat or something.

Everyone has been telling that for years but he seemed to be in need of money still, this is a big one time pay check still for him that can be spent in helping his people.

What people is he helping? Was that what he said he would use the money for? Anyway, he's a politician. Politicians don't fly straight, so to say. I wouldn't be surprised if he said so but I won't believe him if he did. He had glorious years in boxing and made piles of money from it, he could also help out from those past wins if it were so.

IIRC, even before he entered politics he's been giving back to the community of his origin. He's been a household name on the country and from the province that he's came from and that's why political capital is easy on him and his family.

But if it's genuine helping, I won't doubt it. He's built Pacman Villages and I think that's still going on.

As long as he's relevant, whether he's an underdog for a match and if the price is right. It's not a big concern for Manny.

Money shouldn't be everything. You ought to know what Pacman was in his prime. There should be a place for bragging rights and dignity of human persons in whatever we do. Pacman should stop all these stuff he's doing. He's gradually losing respect and his fan base. Imagine Mayweather doing same.

I want him to stop as well but, he's not doing it. And that's what I think is the major reason why he'll still fight for as long as there will be offers to him.

Manny's Saln wayback 2020 is around US$65.8 million and recently, net-worth.vip suggest that the current networth of money ballooned to $220m, although unofficial, can easily support his candidacy for the next election.

Though I agree that he wanted to fight to add more funds to his stash.  I think anyone would like that.  Doing your passion while erning huge amount of money.

And he's not going to worry about any professional records, a fight can make him money and that's in millions compared to the other athletes that will take them a lifetime or several years to earn that. But for him, it only takes one fight.

I think Manny still feels the power is there.  So I guess we can see Manny in action for another 2 years.  Reminds me of boxers who fought at an age of more than 50 years old like  Steve Ward who fought at age 65 and won.

They have a different built of body and training is already part of their routine and life. So with those old boxers that still managed to fight, it won't be surprising if we see him get to fight at those old ages.

I'm really curious to see Pacquiao fight Khan, because from what I've read about Khan, he is fast with his hands and his footwork, and I'm curious how Pacquiao will fare against someone like him.

This boxing match is really going to be fascinating because these are top level boxer that have the capacity to throw a lot of punches without getting tired easily. I honestly haven't watched khan fight, but I have heard a lot of things about him and how good he is, but against an opponent as fast as Manny Pacquiao it's definitely going to be a hell of a fight.

The last time I watched Manny Pacquiao fight was against Mayweather that he lost after throwing a lot of punches without no killer blow that could have knocked Mayweather down, but since he would be fighting an opponent that have similar qualities to him, it may be a close contested fight.

Fair enough, that fight was 2015, so I don't know if you have follow the sports of boxing or at least the career of Manny Pacquiao. If there is a poll here, for sure Manny would have won on that votes already.

Boxing is Manny's bread and butter, so I don't think that he will just simply retire. And we all know that he could be looking to run for the Senate again. So he might need that political money that boxing can give him.

Massive potential for a big payday, and who knows, maybe the Saudi's are more willing to sponsor this fight. So definitely there will be money for both of this fighters. This is maybe the real situation happening here, because maybe they consider the age and health status of Pacquaio before going to a big fight.

If he made a deal with young stars, maybe Pacquaio might just lost. That's why his camp maybe choose age Mayweather, then now Amir Khan because they know. He have big chance to won and won't get much heavy damage.

Their match up floated before, but they didn't materialize it. But now hopefully they settle and sign a contract for their fight.

Ok, now I am curious how they have chosen Amir Khan among other welterweight and +1/-1 division active or retired boxers. For example why not take Adrien Broner? He is more active or has also tend to return from retirement. His name is bigger and has more value in boxing industry. Fight would be much more spectacular. Broner is goofing around; doing podcasts... Could really be a better opponent who might not hurt much Pacman, but bring more audience and views

You are clearly not watching the sport like @coinrifft mentioned. Since you specifically brought up this fight, Manny came into it with a shoulder injury. The commission wouldn't allow him to take painkillers, so he actually boxed through a severe injury.

Since you seem so surprised that Manny didn't knock down Mayweather, let's look at how many boxers actually achieved that in his 50-0 career. Only Carlos Hernandez was credited with a knockdown early in Floyd's career, while Zab Judah and Shane Mosley just came close. Go watch the fourth, sixth, and tenth rounds of that fight and tell me that Manny couldn't connect on any shots, even with an injured shoulder.

I would have loved to watch this a decade ago. It is no secret that Amir Khan has a weak chin, and I am expecting a late-round knockout by Manny.

I’m definitely betting on Manny Pacquiao! He’s a LEGEND - he has unmatched stamina, experience, and has remained consistently active in recent years! Amir Khan, if I’m not mistaken, retired in 2022 after losing to Kell Brook, and I haven’t seen him in regular action since - that’s a very long hiatus. And let’s not forget about his "glass jaw".

Both are amazing fighters . But still I think manny pacquiao have more advantage especially at his prime , doesn’t mean Amir is not a good fighter . He also have good record too , with his known lightening fast punches and throwing combinations in quick succession ( he isn’t called one of the fasted boxer for nothing ). But manny in the other hand have more explosive power, with his amazing record of 62 wins, 8 losses and 3 draws.  His literally a legend , not to mention his relentless attacks, and unpredictable angles. Like you mentioned earlier Amir long hiatus from boxing can also put him in disadvantage too . But still both are good and I’ve watched their fights , well this not a match you will want to miss .

That is exactly why I say that, at this point, the combination of Manny Pacquiao’s strengths makes him the undisputed favorite in this matchup. Although surprises can happen in boxing...this is one of those times when I don’t expect any.
