A good leader/government should think about the poor people while making any policies even if it is going to helps them in long term. And if they think we don't have a choice then compensate the affected users or give some kind of relief and we as citizen should know that government can't satisfy everyone, we want growth but we are not ready for a change then don't expect government to do anything about the changes like development.

Yes, you are right. It is just like when the government wants to use a particular geographical settlement for developmental purposes that will also benefit everyone. The government cannot chase everyone living in that area away without making alternative shelter provisions for them. Those living in that area must be compensated.

It is just too sad to recall that some bad governments have been taking advantage of the poor masses without offering them any compensation, all under the pretext that they are working in the best interest of the nation.

Government policies that cause more hardship are not good policies. Unfortunately, some people are struggling to survive under bad government policies.

My question is; when a government introduces a policy that may benefit the country in the long run but puts immediate pressure on on people’s daily lives, what responsibility should it have towards those who cannot cope barely afford the transition?
People will survive when the government puts long-term pressure on the economy with no hope of resurrecting the economy to balance, leading to hardship. People learn to survive, in most cases, salaries are not increased to match the new cost of things.

It will be hard on them, but in your case, since it is temporary, short-term pain for the gain of the long term, it's definitely worth the patience.
The impact of the government's wrong economic decisions on the lives of ordinary people is very deep, which we see in many countries. In such a situation, it is very important to keep our financial foundation strong. Because in case of sudden job loss, illness or additional family expenses, we need to prepare in advance so that we do not face financial crisis. Someone who has been depositing Bitcoin regularly but does not have money for urgent needs may have to change his plans. If he had kept some money separately in advance, then he could have maintained his investment plan in such a situation.

First, it is necessary to reduce unnecessary expenses and create opportunities for savings according to his ability. And for me, the most important part is to prepare for the future continuously by taking care of the current responsibilities

AFAIK, these leaders just see the people are votes so they don't care if 1% of the people are even going to be wiped if they can convince 51% of their citizen that this will benefit them in the long run, the leaders get the desired result and the poor people will be affected.

And we really can't change anything about that, so all we can do is pick the right leader.

I think the both parties should share responsibility, the former more than the later. If the government is introducing a policy that might make things  difficult for it’s citizens in the short run but very beneficial in the future, it should also find counter measures of abetting the pressure it would put on its people. As someone said maybe a land use project should be done after relocating the residents of the area or compensating them so they don’t go homeless.

And the people too should understand that some policies will be beneficial to them so they also have to be proactive during and before the policy is fully implemented so they don’t become victims when they could have maybe been able to do something.

One thing I’ve come to notice is that government policies don’t affect everyone equally. Someone with good income and savings may adjust to the rise in expenses but a person living under low salary struggle to afford even basic needs.
I understand that some policies may bring long term benefits but what happens to those who cannot cope with the hardship that comes with it. In my one opinion I think the government needs to consider how ordinary people will survive the transition before introducing major changes.

My question is; when a government introduces a policy that may benefit the country in the long run but puts immediate pressure on on people’s daily lives, what responsibility should it have towards those who cannot cope barely afford the transition?

Personal responsibility has to play a role somewhere.  I still wear clothes that I've owned for 20+ years.  I have friends who don't have 2 nickels to rub together but have a pair of $200 shoes to match every outfit.  Should my sacrifice for financial independence be ignored and I should have to provide my friends with access to my lifestyle just because I sacrificed to have things that they didn't?

It isn't about what the government can do for you...  That isn't why the government exists.  People need to learn to stand on their own two feet and take responsibility for their poor decisions.  So many people want to eat their cake and then have their neighbor's too...

This is why I keep saying in Nigeria we don’t study our rights very well, this is how I view it, and by the way you are very right by saying a good leader must 2x about the poor first when creating some policy even if the that same policy might help out in a longer time but the Nigeria government we all know will not have the time to share out on Air talk more of speaking out….there something I have learnt so far from this our government, when they are ready to take loans will definitely don’t have a say, but after taking the loan you then hear it as a headline on the news, what a country we are dependent on for change.

We can actually change that if only the citizens would be wise enough to stop allowing leaders to manipulate them. Bad leaders are getting away with their poor leadership styles because the citizens, who are supposed to demand accountability, have sold their rights, and they will keep selling those rights whenever they have the opportunity to. Today, people should understand that their responsibility does not end with voting alone; they also have the right to demand that the leaders they elect do the right thing. Voters are not fools, but the leaders already see them as one.

They will all complain, but you will see them cope.

When government have not done anything, you will still see some people struggling in life, but if government do something like that, they will be blaming the government and not blame their moves that is not smart in money making

What you said is true, people would complain, talk bad against the government but would survive and adjust to the changes on the long run, for instance when the government of my country removed subsidy and introduced tax reforms, they didn’t bother about how the common man would be affected, however people have adjusted to the pains and hardship it caused.

But It's unfair if the government implement policies that would hurt poor people more while they spend money traveling, buying luxurious cars and renovating the presidential villa with borrowed money, that's insane cause the policies should affect everyone in general since they claim it would bring temporary hardship but better economy on the long run, well the government of my country is full of shit and don't care about the common man.

If a famine or an unexpected disaster occurs in the country due to government policies, then the government must take responsibility for it. But as easily as we can say that anarchy or a bad situation will occur in the country due to government policies, it will not come very easily. When it comes to implementing government policies, this decision must be taken after long-term thinking and with the important people of the country. So, the possibility of these decisions ever being wrong is low. If a mistake is made, then the government has to take responsibility in that case and if there is suffering in public life, then the suffering must be faced by the general public.

Different ways the policies affect people is not measured by their income. It is measured in the sectors where we work. For clarification purpose, a policy is a set or rules or plans made by the government that governs a particular business, sector or an organization.

Policies affects both the rich and the poor depending if the person is affected by it. A wealthy business man can be affected by government policies even if he has billions in his saving. His wealth are literally tied to the business.

I agree with you because hardship doesn’t affect everyone the same way. Some people have good savings or earn well enough to manage when things gets expensive, but others are barely managing . For some families, even a small change in price of food or transportation can throw everything off.

I also feel the government needs to understand that not everyone is on the same level financially. You can’t expect everyone to adjust easily when people have different income and responsibilities. The people that are struggling is gonna suffer the most.
