in this thread, i’d like to introduce you to the new Bron wallet.
its a multicurrency wallet that allows you to do more than just send/receive BTC. Bron is available as a desktop and a mobile (iOS and Android) version.
it’s also worth mentioning that Bron uses the MPC (Multi-Party Computation) method which is then used when an address is created.
as you can see in the graphic, this means that three parties each control a shard

here are a few useful links about Bron:
https://bron.org/
https://developer.bron.org/api-reference/getting-started
https://github.com/bronlabs/bron-crypto

https://support.bron.org/en/articles/11514774-mpc-security-eliminating-single-points-of-failure

This looks more like a paid service than a typical Bitcoin/Crypto wallet.

I'm not saying it's bad though, it's just it's not accessible to all and the marketed features don't exactly sound self-custodial.
I'm not willing to check their source code to double-check their claims.

Since qualifying balances determine our membership tier, and each tier seems to come with a different set of features, I think this wallet is better suited for large institutions [they even mentioned it in their FAQ].

Even though two independent companies [according to them, Bron and Qrypt aren't connected] will hold the remaining shards, I still would've preferred another recovery option that didn't rely on either of them.
- BTW, UK residents aren't allowed to use it (screenshot)!

They differentiate it with personal/business accounts though. Weirdly the personal ones also comes with different accounts. I guess this "personal" label is in regard to private businesses owners instead of pure individual users. Them having a free 14-day trial also seems to suggest it's a wallet as a service instead of competitors to Electrum and the likes of them. They have mobile and PC app but it seems there's no way to easily view the UI, UX, and so on. CMIIW.

The wallet is over reliant on third parties, did a quick check on it, the third shard is stored with crypt.com, the passkey used to trigger self recovery is stored either on your google or apple cloud. Then the two guardians whose primary duty is to generate and grant 6 digit pins to the wallet owner, are both third parties. In a case of losing access to Shard 1, the owner would be on the mercy of the two guardians to recover access to their assets, when they both fail, the last hope is on Google or Apple, what if the passkey or the account gets suspended or the owner couldn't provide the necessary requisites for login into their google account?

It's best a crypto owner posses the full private key, and store it their own way, which uplifts being extremely careful about how it's stored, than relying on centralized corporate owned companies to store and hold their keys.

users do not have full control over their own assets, as the wallet operates on a 2-of-3 or 3-of-3 multisig structure. In the event of an inheritance, the account recovery process still relies on traditional methods, requiring the consent of all designated heirs to provide the necessary signatures. ETFs are a better than trusting this service.

While visiting their official website, I noticed 14-day trial-free offers. That means we have to purchase a subscription to use their wallet. It’s kind of a third-party service, like some other wallet offers, including Ledger. The wallet offers third-party service, or the wallet itself holds some rights, and then I don’t like to use it.

The wallet I use must have full control of me, either a hardware or software wallet. After the Ledger hack, it’s even harder to trust hardware wallets. Must have to purchase from the official website, but then I can’t trust such a wallet anyway. I don't like to pay on a monthly basis to hold my own funds in my own account wallet.

Even without checking the website, such information will tell you that this service is a custodial wallet or service or whatever they call themselves, and is regulated by some country or whatever law they came. KYC might be a requirement just to avoid users from such country to use them.

Based on some replies above, i guess this doesn't suit on this board, might be Service Discussion board instead.

While the wallet offers free options, it is primarily designed for the wealthy. It features individual tiers (Core, Premium, and Private) with advanced or business-oriented capabilities some costing $250/month that include MPC seedless recovery. it is a wealth management tool and not for us.

It seems like they've updated the website.
The last time I visited it (the time when I fist posted), it looked entirely different without the membership link that shows how much is the required balance and swap fee.
Now, there are "personal" tiers that don't require subscriptions.

Looks like they're silently reading this thread or there are similar concerns somewhere.
