Regardless of the country the person is, if he does not have privacy, the person can be invaded or attacked just to forcibly receive crypto from him.

People should not use privacy to play anymore. This kind of news are no more new at all and I think attackers attacking people to steal their crypto from them will become more common happening.

This seem like neighborhood theft. It is an attack on pure robbery and does not have anything to do with privacy. It is more like an armed robbery case in a bank, the type we watch in Nollywood. If an armed robber ask a banker to open the bank save on a gun point, the save keeper must oblige or get the bullet. If a robber comes to the house on gun point, you must submit the cash or ATM card/pin to their request. Lets us hope that we are not under planned attack because I feel that is the situation of this victim. It is nothing but a planned robbery by the people around the victim. They know him too well and knows his crypto worth. So apart from saving our passphrase, keys or securities, we need to still bridle our tongue.

However, I think it is more secured to live in UK. Why were they able to succeed for that long.

The influencer may not cover her privacy, if so she will not be famous, will not get a lot of followers or admirers of her, this kind of thing has become a risk for them.

Privacy is, it does not display luxury or portfolio or trading activity, however like this it will continue to do its.

I hate robberies or such incidents, but sometimes we bring all the unnecessary attention to ourselves. You can't talk about being a crypto millionaire to the public and expect not to be a target of such incidents. I guess some blokes have to learn the hard way. Privacy is very important, especially when it comes to one's finances but some people think it's just a joke.

I was already thinking how the wrench attack took place so easily, but I think I have now seen the reason why. The guy is an influencer and he can’t get that much followers without doing that show off game, this is really sad but he has been tracked for a while and targeted for a long time now.

Privacy should never be underrated and this is the reason why wrench attacks are almost not going to be over. He is good at what he’s doing, but this is a big loss that will take him a while to recover.

Wrench attacks was kind of a thing in France and now the UK? It goes to show that it can happen to anyone anywhere they are and why it's paramount to take both online and offline privacy very seriously.
I had a lady friend who was so interested in how I earned that she asked if I traded crypto currency, I simply denied I even knew anything about it because there's no saying who made her ask me such a question and who she reports to and what possible outcome could result from that conversation.
I can't even imagine myself flaunting I know anything about crypto currency nor trading even if am in a group of friends and they all talk about it. I simply act ignorant.

Privacy needs a human to be smart and that's why ETF is there for those who have large funds to invest in crypto currencies and don't want to be bothered with the security responsibility. So its better to leave large funds in a more secure space and leave smaller funds in exchange that can easily be accessible and never be a crypto influencer online or offline or feign knowledge about it.
This is also one reason why I hate kyc requirements and CEX because you never know who has hold of your information, and it's mostly bad when you try to transact using crypto currencies.

Just because you are into crypto doesn’t mean you should make everyone knows that you are into crypto, some people will go to the extent of displaying their crypto wallet online, they will make it public that they are holding a particular amount of coin. I feel people that do things like that just want to feel among, they want people to know that they are rich without thinking about the consequences of their actions.

If you make it public that you are holding bitcoin or any crypto assets, then you might be a target. Even people close to you are not suppose to know about your holdings, they shouldn’t know the real amount which you worth, you should try and stay low, because even people close to you might end up targeting you.

People should not use privacy to play anymore. This kind of news are no more new at all and I think attackers attacking people to steal their crypto from them will become more common happening.
The moment you start investing in cryptocurrency you have to start considering yourself already as a target to criminals and start becoming more conscious about your security, not making assumptions about anything or anyone. Your level of security consciousness as an investor should be higher than the average individual because you understand that you possess more value when compared to someone who is not investing at all in cryptocurrency. I believe this awareness changes a lot of things and exactly how you approach safekeeping and custody of cryptocurrency investments because with this consciousness, the chances of you becoming a victim of being attacked to have your cryptocurrency stolen from you is already reduced because you've eliminated the possibility of that happening from your own carelessness.

There have been a growing wave of $5 wrench attacks in France. It is so frequent that whenever you read about such attacks, your mind immediately thinks it happened in France. But the U.K. has also been in the news for this. Not too long ago, a man and his pregnant wife were attacked in their home, and the attackers forced him to send all the coins in his wallet, and now this case in the OP.

Nobody's going to leave the U.K. because this victim says so. But anywhere you live around the world, you have to protect yourself from attacks like this. There are a few things you can do:

- Be discreet about your crypto hodlings.
- Set up a passphrase for plausible deniability.
- If your data is ever exposed in a major data leak, consider changing residence (particularly if your coins are worth a lot of money).
- Don't spend bitcoin from your cold wallet, use a hot wallet and be discreet about how you fund it.
- Don't invest 100% into bitcoin, channel funds into other investments (not altcoins).

People get attacked not because of the poor security of the country but because the people themselves are the ones giving hints to the bad guys around. Don't blame the government or the country itself, the biggest responsibility if we want to stay secured and protected should start from us, not from the authorities or the leaders sitting in the government.

And we all know this is going to happen for any reckless trader or investor. Protect your own keys, as much as protect your own safety and security.

Public visibility is the number one reason for all these wrench attacks happening. The criminals will never know what you have and what you don't have, unless if you start flexing it to the public. And the fact that digital assets have higher value than traditional ones, this becomes enough reason to target crypto traders because they are holding valuable assets in their wallet.

The problem isn't in the country, but on the crypto trader itself. Even if this case is happening repeatedly, still the person to be blamed is the trader itself. He knows he have something to lose, at least he should know well how to protect them at any cost.

A crypto trader from the UK experience a crypto robbery and detailed the events of the incident.

I don't believe this is just a random rubbery, Gozie51 if you read the victim message you will discover that he stated it clearly that the rubbers came straight for his cryptocurrency and have to make multiple transfers from main wallets and ledger wallet as he said.

They must have worked with information and long time planning before the attacks, wether we like it or not whenever there is this kind of cryptocurrency rubbery we have to deal with the insider information leaked.

So we still come down to the issues with privacy.
