Despite having wealth, there are a number of people in society who behave like poor people. Because there is a lot of accumulated wealth but they do not like to advertise it in society. Some advertise more than the wealth they have.
There may be differences of opinion on what a person's definition of being rich would be, but what would be your attitude towards those who are struggling financially due to hiding wealth? They are stingy or prefer to leave that wealth for their children. Or they are those people who do not have the mentality of living a luxurious life.
There are different kinds of people with different behaviors or living standards despite being rich or wealthy, and there can be different reasons behind this. Some of them are wealthy but don't like showing off, so they live and lead a very simple life without much luxuries even though they can get whatever they want in this world based on their financial standing in society. There are some who are wealthy but spend nothing because they are miser, they don't like spending their money and because of this, they save their money, and such people don't even do it for their children or grandchildren, but they are just like that naturally.
Those who act or behave like they are very rich or wealthy when they are not are not mentally stable, they believe they have to prove something to the world, and others should envy them or their lifestyle and living standards even though they aren't really doing that well financially. Such people would barely actually make it big in life, because they don't have any financial management skills. A person with good financial management skills won't do such things.
Yes, i think many ultra high net worth people it actually appears very simple in everyday life, this is because they choose to live a stress free life. For them money only a tols to buy time and freedom not to impress others so their priority peace of mind and comfort over show off. I realize that truly prosperous people no longer need external validation, internal validation enough for them which mean their financial security has become a form of validation.
So, being super rich or wealthy people means that we possess a high level of financial independence with super comfort pressure pad. The size of our income cannot serve as a benchmark for prosperity. People with high incomes who are nonetheless constantly at risk of a crisis are a clear example of a failure in behavioral finance management. Many people doesn't have a healthy financial psychology, so they often enslaved by money or prestige. I personally measure prosperity by a question mark if we were to stop working tomorrow, how long could we sustain our current lifestyle?
