I know is small compared to what happened to other casinos ,but losing your hard earn money is just painful no matter how small it may look, just as you said hackers are moving differently and the best thing to do now is to upgrade their security level if not something worst may still happen to them ,which I don't pray ,and what really save them was they wear aware of it on time , hackers operation this period is something else, and it's not even only casino, everyone need to be careful, things are really happening this days .

I don’t know why people are saying the amount is not that big, for me $3million is a big amount even though it’s not up other hacks. It was a good thing that the casino catch the attack early, but that's not enough. They need to have good security measures put in place beforehand or this thing could happen in the future. As you mentioned, it's not just a casino issue, but for anyone who stores money online, security is a thing of importance.
It surprises me seeing people coming to say it's a small money ,like money you work hard for ,someone you don't know from anywhere hacked it and made a way with it and people are saying is not much ,maybe when it gets to the amount of the other person they also hacked that is when it should be seem as huge amount , me no matter how small the money is whenever I misplaced it talk more of someone intentionally stealing from me ,I get disorganized and frustrated.

Binance that was hacked few days ago ,I know someone who had save a lot there ,I just feel all this exchange and Casion are not longer safe to save funds and people should be careful so all this hackers activities won't get to people's mental health.

Seriously how do you even keep your data safe these days?... Delete yourself from the internet?  Lips sealed  that won't help either because some trace will probably stay. even if I delete my accounts I don't know how long companies keep the data (not an expert so sorry if I'm wrong). And then boom! my data is sold somewhere in Bangladesh for 3 cents or whatever they get there. So unfair!
It's almost impossible to keep your data completely safe in Such a time when Hackers use Ai to amplify or gain easy access to people's informations. But it is avoidable, and for you to do this all you have to do is to make sure that you don't use casinos or sites that you aren't sure of. It is uncommon for reputable sites to be exposed to such even though there's a slim chance of this happening but it's still advised to always make sure that you stick with the casinos that are advertised here on the forum.

And I just saw this news:

https://x.com/BitcoinNews/status/2115105423929872731

So the group that hacked them, known as cyber-extortion group Whitearmor, said that they have 15 million customers data with them and they are demanding a huge $15 million from Gandom.

Gandom though disputed that big database, but still the criminals might have gotten their customers database.

There are things to this hacking stuff. This is just data and there are some that are funds. So protecting funds and data are two different things. A company can successfully protect the funds of his or her customers and loss their data. The two are very important and should be treated as urgently. For example, customers data got stolen. The attacker can get hold of their emails and phone numbers. Those are very important. They can create a phishing email that is very confusing. Each customer or all at once get attacked and they can still loose funds.

Okay, but what can actually be in this database? Users’ emails and phone numbers? If Gamdom refuses to pay the ransom, what can the hackers do with that data, apart from selling it to someone who is very likely to be the police? I mean, those hackers are stupid — they’ll get fock all, and maybe even a jail sentence.

This hackers are foolish, they hacked a company and threatened them and asked for money in exchange for user data. Who is going to believe that after paying that sum of money they are not going to release the customers data, who in there right sense will believe a thief. I believe the company knows what to do, they will not answer them. The hackers can do what they want with it because right now, Gandom doesn't even have the money to give.

I don't blame people that hate casino that asked for kyc, imagine been a polical figure and you decide to use these casino and one day you work up that they are hack and the hackers found out you are using the casino and boom, they decide to leak your information to the public or your opposition, that means you are cook. There is nothing that is going to save you from that embarrassment and public outburst especially if you are political person.

Scam and phishing

And Gamdom has KYC, what if the database includes the real name and documents of gamblers? They can be used for scams and identity theft or even worse if they have the name and the number that was gambled they can see rich people and try to kidnap them for their crypto Sad

If they release the data after pay the other companies will stop believing in such extortions and will not pay in the next attacks

The best thing the hacker can do is create reputation that the payment will void any data leak because then the company knows they can be trusted and it is only business. Criminals also do business Grin

Wow. another day, another hack.
3M$ seems like a small amount. I would say that they are very lucky. Duelbits got hacked and lost about 7M$ in September. It seems the hack is going round.
These crypto casinos should not say, it can't be me, and just do nothing. They better stress-test their system before it gets to them.
On the other hand, what I like about user funds is that the casinos always find a way to pay back those who was affected if any to keep their reputation.
Anyways, looking forward to their official statement.
The rate at which casinos are getting hacked is becoming more alarming, $3m isn't really a small amount of money, it's actually a lot but the damage would have been worse if they did not take measures to avoid that. Casinos need to up their game in terms of security so they they would not longer experience this. Lastly, not every casino pays back the players when they go through this especially the ones that don't care about being reputable.

The hackers can use the information they collected from Gamdom database to damage the reputation of the casino by leaking personal details of users publicly. The hackers intention may not be to sell this details if the casino refuses to pay, but I believe the casino knows the consequences of such a leak. If the database contains user personal details or kyc documents, the hackers can use this to start targeting those users . So the hackers may actually have something to gain

I just checked Gamdom's official Twitter "X" handle to see if i could see this news, but i couldn't find it on their official twitter page. And moreover, Gamdom already lost $3million to the recent hacked that happend last month October, so demanding extra $15million from the same casino will be outrageous. And it still doesn't guarantee that after this money is been paid that the hackers won't come back for more money again, because if the casino complies with this ransom demand that have just been made in exchange to not licking its customer's data, they will still come for more. So its best the casino tightens its security very well.

I'm a huge Stevewilldoit fan and I've already mentioned this on the thread...  Him signing with Gamdom, promoting the hell out of it, then it getting hacked is just fishy smelling timing.  Timing itself may not mean anything, but now Stevewilldoit just bought a new 4 million dollar house.  Not even a mention of the Gamdom hack just weeks after he was promoting it, just a new 4 million dollar house.  Even if he is completely innocent, it just looks bad.

For the fact that the hack was successful in the first place, it meant that the hackers already have something to gain. Talking of the ransome demands from the hackers, this is where I will bring in a proverbial saying "do not negotiate with the devil".

The hackers are the devil here. They already have the user's data, there is no guarantee here that the hacker will not demand for more money in the future knowing that Gamdom will do anything to protect this data from leaking. If they notice that they could actually manipulate Gamdom with the data leakage threat, they won't stop at just one request, they will request for more.

Note that the Internet always leave a trace, whatever you upload on the Internet can't be deleted permanently, because whenever their is the right tool for something like forensic analysis on your profile all the deleted data will be recovered so don't say because of hacker's you want to delete your data on the Internet then you are safe.

The best form of privacy is never to let your data out online, try as much as possible to conceal your Data and use verified platforms that are hard for hackers to penetrate and still users data.

The crazy thing is that despite all these (hacking and ransom stuff), Gamdom is still in some crazy motion . I can literally see them all over my X (Twitter ) . Like usually say this hacking of a thing is getting out of hand , from casino to exchanges. I like the fact that despite all the hacking incidents, the casino doesn’t seem fazed at all. This is another reason I’m not a fan of KYC. Just imagine, those hackers now have access to the personal data of so many users. Hopefully they will be able to sort it all out .

In the past, companies do actually pay for their the customers data not to be released. That's something that have been happening long ago. I don't know about now whether companies still trust the hackers not to publish the data. Some hackers don't actually publish it. Some ignore their own terms and publish it anyway.

I won't put much blame on casinos. Yes, it's their responsibility to keep customers data safe. And for some time they have been doing it. Before you judge me that I am with them, I am only saying that things happen we don't control even after we put the necessary things in place to prevent that thing. We just hope the customers datas are not used for further individual hacks.
