I only have Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash installed on my Nano Ledger S Plus.  I would like to be able to receive and send usdt.  I read that in order to send usdt, you need gas fees if it is Ethereum network.  I read there are other networks as well like Tron and Binance Chain.

Do I install the Eth app and that is it?  However, I know usdc exists as well so that gets confusing.  How do I set my Nano Ledger S Plus up where I can receive Eth and Usdt under the Ethereum network?

I would like to withdraw Usdt and Eth from under the Eth network from a site so I would have to give the site my Usdt and Eth wallet address?  After I receive both Usdt and Eth, I would like to send Usdt.  I read that when you do that, some Eth fees will be deducted?  How does that happen?

Would it be best to setup Ethereum on my Nano Ledger S Plus for this or should I use a hot wallet for this?  The only hot wallet I used on my laptop is electrum and I have experience with but it is only a bitcoin wallet.  I checked online for online wallets that support Eth and usdt and the ones that seem to be recommended are Trustwallet and Exodus.  Is it better to use either of these programs on a windows laptop or an iPhone?  My concern is with my iphone, I am not sure if I have malware or not on it because many times when clicking things like on YouTube, you can easily accidentally click things.  With my windows laptop, I'm more cautious.  But if you have malware in either iPhone or laptop, then you shouldn't use any of these wallets?  I want to use it solely for Usdt and Eth.

Would it be fine to use either of these 2 wallets on my computer or don't and just stick with my ledger?  My concern is because I have no experience with Eth and usdt, I might cause issues with my Nano Ledger S Plus with the bitcoin.  I heard of people saying if you sign malicious contracts and stuff, some things could happen.  But if I only use usdt with the Eth network, none of that is a concern?

Well, I don't  use Ledger but i think it is worth mentioning that you should disregard any PM claiming they can assist if they can't  post it on this thread .
How it happens doesn't concern you,  just know that the deducted ethereum is the fee you're paying to move the USDT through that network. If you use tron, you need some amount in tron that will be deducted, same for BSC you will be needing BNB to cover up the fees.

The type of network you will be using to receive your USDT is what matters and determine where your fees would be charged from. The ethereum  reeceiving address is also your USDT address but you need a separate amount in Ethereum to cover up the fee when you want to spend. You can wait until when you want to spend to know the amount in ethereum that will cover up as fee.

In short you will send USDT and Ethereum to same address. Make sure you tell your sender you are using the ethereum network.

My advice is to Try the whole process with a small amount first to understand how it works.

You can also check this https://support.ledger.com/article/8950985607325-zd ( take note of  the transaction fee aspect)

The network that I will be receiving the Usdt would be the Ethereum network.  Now if I plan to receive Usdt and want to send Usdt at a later time, I need some Ethereum as well.  So if I plan to withdraw Usdt through Ethereum network from a web site, I should also request some Ethereum as well then if I plan to send Usdt at a later time?

So you first recommend I get Usdt through the Ethereum network first from a website.  Then just get some Ethereum from that website as well.  Now once I have both Usdt and Ethereum, whenever I'm reading to send Usdt, I can do this as long as I have enough Ethereum to cover the fess?

I'm going to try to use an example.  I want to withdraw say $200 worth of Usdt through the Ethereum network from a website.  I am planning to then send that $200 usdt to another website.  I should first request $200 Usdt first.  Then request how much Ethereum?  It would need to cover the sending fee so I should request at least $5 Ethereum?

Now once I have both $200 Usdt and $5 Ethereum in my Nano Ledger S Plus and am ready to send that $200 Usdt to another website, how exactly how would process work?  I would enter the Usdt sending address and $200 Usdt right?  Then whatever is current sending free with Ethereum will be deducted from the ledger?  So if it costs $3 Ethereum to send, now I have 0 Usdt and $2 Ethereum left?

But you say I will be sending USDT and Ethereum to the same address... but am I manually doing that only for Usdt?  The Ethereum fee, is the Nano Ledger S Plus will handle it?

Now what if I did this on Trustwallet or Exodus wallet?

Yes and make sure you choose Ethereum network if that's what you prefer.

Request for USDT address on Ethereum Network from the Receiver, use the send button or whatever is available for sending on Ledger , paste the requested address(don't forget it has to be on same network with your available USDT) , input the amount and hit send (or any alternative used by ledger ) to complete the transaction.

Your ETH address is same with  your USDT(ERC20) you can confirm that yourself, you don't need to confuseyour self, just go directlyto the USDT under ETH and copy the address (I mean your address now when you want to receive under Ethereum network)

I already told you I don't use Ledger, so I don't know how the UI looks like but i do know that there should be a way to select your USDT and send them.

The wallet will automatically subtract the fee from your ETH, the calculation should also be done auto. but if there's an option to adjust fee you can use https://etherscan.io/gastracker to know what to use.

Here's a little help : https://info.etherscan.com/how-to-send-eth-token/

Like receive?
I wouldn't recommend any of those two wallets and on a normal day I wouldn't even recommend Ledger as a reputable Hardware wallet.

Use Unstoppable wallet instead: https://unstoppable.money/

When you are ready to send the Usdt, it's only one transaction you are manually sending as the ETH will be automatically deducted from your wallet... but that's only if you have your own wallet like nano ledger s plus or Trustwallet or Exodus?  If I have a Usdt and ETH on an exchange, would it still be done the same way?  I would be receiving Usdt and ETH to my wallet.  I just don't know yet if I should use my nano ledger s plus or use some other wallet like Trustwallet or Exodus.

I said now what if I did this on Trustwallet or Exodus Wallet?

Yes I mean if I were to receive the Usdt and ETH this way as opposed to receiving Usdt or ETH on my nano ledger s plus.  At the moment, I do not have ETH installed on my nano ledger s plus.  I do not have any software wallet downloaded.

I have never heard of unstoppable wallet.

Would it make sense besides security to use the nano ledger s plus over the Trustwallet or Exodus Wallet?  However, the reason why I didn't want to use the nano ledger s plus is because I have no experience with Usdt and ETH and concerned it could somehow screw with my nano ledger s plus.  By that I mean like how people might store Bitcoin in their nano ledger s plus.... but once they start doing things like using ETH and signing contracts and memecoins... I heard people can get their accounts drained due to malicious contracts.  But if you are only using Usdt and ETH for sending and receiving Usdt and ETH, there is no concern with this?

I only have Bitcoin and Bitcoin cash installed on my nano ledger s plus.  I never installed ETH and used it ever.

At first I thought you were a newbie who posted since yesterday, it turns out that your account has been for almost a decade.

What I noticed is that your writing always has a question mark (?), which means you're always asking questions.
Have you been this stupid for almost a decade?

Or is this indeed a motive for you to write long, to make it look good to write at length? even though you basically already know how to send ETH and USDT.
