Hello,
I've published the C sources of
JasRe, an open-source rewrite of the Jasminer X16-Q's mining program (/usr/bin/jasminer.elf):
https://github.com/sebcorse/jasminerThe repository holds the sources and the recipe to build the .elf yourself from your own copy of Sunlune's official firmware (JasMiner-X16-Q-20241014-141748). No binary, no fee, GPL-3.0.
What it changes- More memory for the ETHW DAG. Since epoch 840, the DAG and the cache a chip builds to compute it no longer fit together in the chip's memory: the stock firmware lets the DAG overwrite the cache, and 17 to 40% of the hashes come out wrong. JasRe gives the cache's banks back to the DAG: the processor computes the missing end of the DAG and writes it there.
- Per-chip mining: each of the three ASICs belongs to one of two pool groups, so one machine can mine two pools, or ETHW and ETC at the same time. Each group has a main pool and a backup.
- Per-chip clock and core voltage, or work modes for all chips.
- ETC switch: a chip whose memory cannot hold the whole ETHW DAG moves to ETC from an error rate you choose.
- Memory repair without Sunlune's library (rewritten).
- Faster starts: the ethash cache can come from a server on your network in about 4 s instead of about 150 s of computation.
- API on port 4028, logs in English.

cd jasminer

make # -> build/jasre
The README lists the dependencies (Ubuntu 24.04 tested) and the configuration keys of jasminer.json.
This part is for experienced users: installing the binary on a machine is up to you. Use it at your own risk; it has been tested on X16-Q only, and the project is not affiliated with Sunlune or Jasminer.
I'm thinking of sharing the full firmware (the image build) in a second part.
