2026 Ballon d’Or: How voting system works According to the Ballon d’Or website, the jury for the men’s award comprises journalists from the top 100 countries in the FIFA rankings, while representatives from the top 50 nations will vote for the women’s award.
This is interesting, the next Ballon d’Or coming up in October 26 will be the 70th edition. It means it has had different winners up to 70 times. I have been aware that international journalists are important in the picks.
My interest is on the tieIn the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by the number of first-place votes received. If the tie persists, second-place votes and subsequent rankings will be considered
This is the first tie condition to resolve it and I think it is reasonable.
The organisers added that any other disputes arising from the voting process would be resolved by the editor-in-chief of France Football, the award’s organiser.
Then, this is the interesting part. Is this statutory or by committee resolution that the editor-in-Chief of France Football, the awards organiser should determine the winner?.
If this topic is already discussed somewhere, I will lock it.
