We need AI and Cyber Security boards

I know this thing has been discussed here but we really need AI and Cyber Security board after everything that's happening recently.

There is a discussion on this forum around AI and these threads and posts are spread in multiple boards. Instead, I think that we could have one AI dedicated board. If anyone asks in what way is AI in touch with Bitcoin and Bitcointalk, yes, AI is not Bitcoin but nor are politics, gambling and other boards. Also, let me tell you that AI agents are increasingly performing automated crypto transactions and AI agents now autonomously run and manage Bitcoin LN nodes. One of Bitcoin Core's wallet-related bug was fixed by pointing AI models at Bitcoin's codebase and using them for finding the problem.

I'm the person who supports the development on this forum and honestly, I don't want things to stay where they started. We have to move on and join the progress. AI is used in coding, trading, QA and so on. Users can also buy & sell AI APIs in cheaper rates, everything in one, AI board.

We also need a Cyber Security board because cyber security is an important thing today. We can have a discussion about VPNs, Tor, DDOS attacks, physical and virtual wallet security, operational systems and how to protect our privacy in general, how not to become a victim of an attacker too.

There are many things that can be discussed around AI and Cyber Security, so I think that we really need those boards.

The forum does not stand against AI amd what it can offer. What I think is forbidden is copying AI generated contents and pasting them on the forum while claiming ownership... that is the same thing as plagiarism that is treated as criminal offence anywhere in the world. I have seen some persons make comments siting that they employed the help of AI and they were not punished. In my opinion, developments in AI in relation to Bitcoin can still be suited in the Technical board instead of creating a different board for yhat. The same goes for Cybersecurity but if Theymos, in his wisdom, think the time to create such board has come, it is still a welcomed development.

I don't know about you, but i do not see the discussions surrounding AI that you are talking about, other than users making posts using AI chatbots and threads complaining about AI spam, there is no way Theymos is going to create an AI board in bitcointalk.

As for a dedicated cybersecurity board, i agree with you on that one. I think it would be better if all discussions about bitcoin and online security generally can have its own board. It would aid users to find these topics quickly and apply the necessary security measures.

I also think so, besides most Ai topics are made specifically to fit a particular area, for example most Ai topics created in the economy board are discussion about AI relating to the board, and so are those discussed in the political or Bitcoin discussion board.
Creating another board for AI is quite unnecessary, you did not even suggest it being a child board under maybe politics and society or anywhere, a whole board for that and cyber security is not a necessity if you ask me.

I don’t think this is what the OP is talking about.

He didn’t in anyway make mention of anything related to writing post with AI or posting AI generated content, the forum has clear guidelines for that.

Rather the OP is asking for a board specifically to discuss the development of the technology and other things related to AI and Automation and that is actually a good suggestion imo, there’re quite a lot of discussions about AI in the forum (and outside the forum) lately, you can see some of them on the Economics board and trading board, so having a dedicated board for that discussion makes sense.

For AI currently it's not really the case yet. So far, AI actually seems to be more like a fraction of the discussions.

If you check closely you'll see the discussions are not based solely on AI as the subject. That aside creating a new board that will become later obsolete isn't worth it.

I support your proposal of Cyber security board. It's not a new proposal, we have seen posts in meta requesting to create cyber security and privacy boards. I remember there was a time it got so much support, but then there should be a reason theymos hasn't created it till now.

Talking about AI board. I was so curious what should be discussed in such board until you broke it down. But there's an aspect of it you didn't capture, and that's the AI altcoins. You see many AI tokens, so are they also going to be discussed in same board with APIs, coding, trading etc?

This means that even the AI board will likely have child boards. So, creating it now might be early and the board scanty. Maybe theymos should wait for the next 3 years and see how things unfold.

I asked this question becaise your topic is like a proposal which requires detailed information that should convince a good number of the community on the need for that. We should also try to avoid a situation whereby we will have a section of the forum that will be flooded with AI generated contents that add no real value.

Similarly, Cybersecurity, though very imrportant, but having a board willl not be much different from the technical discussion board where lots of similar things are already being discussed. S

I disagree with this idea, at least about AI.

AI is something very broad: it can be used to programming, trading, images, agents, ethics, regulation, hardware, marketing........ creating a generic section about AI could turn into a dumping ground for off-topic content, because it always overlaps with other subjects we already have.
It would be the same as trying to create a section about "sports" when most of this subject nowadays is already closely tied to Gambling, which already has its own specific area.

There is no dedicated section to talk about , when I think about posting about AI related projects since there is none I really can't start a conversation. In every board there was a clear instructions where should we post ans what should we. If you watch economic section that is flooded with AI related topic.

But I think there should be more advance and technical section about AI. If you guys are saying there is developments section for this , it's inappropriate to post there. Anything related to bitcoin should be posted there . I myself found no space to discuss there.



In our world there in every sector AI touch and here we in forum don't even have a specific board to talk about. Theymos I also request you to create a AI board so we can discuss about
 - The future of AI
- Development of AI
-  Which model is suppressing other model
- Which is cost effient
- How closer we are towards AGI
- Share our created projects
- How far we can push AI
- What would happen if we can get an access of uncensored model of Opus 5.5/ Astra 6.1 level benchmark.
- How people are using self hosted Uncensored model
- Best way to minimize our cost and get maximum output.


These are just fraction of idea that came out on my head in just 10 second.  This section is developing like crazy. 4 year's ago we used to write essay's for our school/university project now it's helping on Rocket Science , Biological science . If you guys still think AI don't need any exposure I have no word for you guys to explain.

How about adding both the sections for some time, and see how it goes. If it goes well, make 'em permanent otherwise throw the boards into archival.

Also, it should be made clear what exactly is suited in these boards, so there is no confusion about what to post there (i.e. users don't think — ai generated content is allowed there).

IMO AI altcoins should belong in altcoin discussion.

AI board ≠ AI generated content. It means a board to talk about AI developments.

It's not about AI but there are several threads asked for a Cyber security board.

Cyber security subforum?
Discussion: "Cybersecurity and Privacy" board + Poll (request v1).
Community Vote: Add "Cybersecurity & Privacy" board to Bitcointalk.

In the past, many threads about Cyber security were moved to Off topic board and if moderators don't change their mindset about cyber security threads, possibly your request for a Cyber Security board / subforum will not be approved.

What exposure are you talking about, new boards are not created in a bid to create exposure, like i already said, new boards are created because there is a litany of discussions/threads about that subject in the forum, and so a dedicated board is necessary. And it is very obvious that's not the case here.

AI posts can still fit in many extant sections in the forum: want to talk about AI and how it affects the economy or RL jobs, put in the the Economics section. AI and bitcoin, put it in bitcoin discussion. If you create an AI project, Service discussion or Project development is appropriate for it. ETC.

It's clearly mentioned there that it's related to Bitcoin or the project you are working on. The problem is that you are not viewing AI as an individual; you are mixing it with everything else.

On other social media, they have an algorithm that works like a charm; if I want to engage with project development using AI and the AI model itself, it appears in my feed. But the forum is not like that, so a board, or even a child board, would do the work.

Let's say you want to have a conversation about how the previous and new models are performing, and which model is on top in the benchmark. Can you show me a specific board for this type of conversation?
As for those, we are forced to include Bitcoin or other crypto in our discussion to make it more appropriate for the board. If anything falls outside it, a moderator can flag it as off-topic. Now tell me how many people roam around off-topic? I don't think the economic board is suitable for AI-related posts.

You continue to ignore the most important point and i don't know if it is wilful or not. How many people want to have this conversation in bitcointalk, is the number that great to deserve a dedicated board? That's what determines if you'll get one. You can't just tell Theymos you think X & Y board should be added.

You'd have to come with "evidence" that there are so many discussions about that subject, and some of them are being moved to off-topic, etc. Just the same way users do when they are requesting a local board. Without stats like that, it'd just be ignored and this debate we are having is then unnecessary.

It is less likely to happen now because now all cybersecurity stuff is enforced to be shared in a single General Thread in the beginners and help board.

I feel we need a board on AI and cybersecurity, but when it comes to AI, there's a concern that AI promotion from the companies that created it will make the board a sales pitch for AI from companies that specialize in particular features.
We may have newbies dropping a discussion from one company that specializes in AI.

You know that overused " Do you know this AI from these blah blah companies I'm planning to use it" " What do you think about AI coming from blah blah companies they promised to blah blah".

The board will become another spam board, and that's too much work for moderators.
