I will just go straight to the point, the image I posted above is an example of price alerts that exchanges send to their customers. To some persons it might be considered as mere price updates but to some persons it could be more than that.
Personally this price alerts have prompted me to disable my notifications on my exchange before but then I consider the fact that I won’t be able to receive other notifications so I enabled it back. But here is the reason I disabled it, each time this message pops up, there is this part of me that always draws my attention to my holding and sometimes I’m just tempted to check the effect of the price changes on my portfolio .
Irrespective of the fact that our investment goal is long term, I believe constant reminder of price changes like this with other factors can rewire the mind of an investor to panic, even when he has initially built a strong foundation. The truth remains that nobody is too strong or too disciplined to not compromise, they just need life to play some tricks one them and this kind of messages popping up all the time.

If the price update gets you emotional, there's an option to disable it in your exchange notification settings, see here my ByBIT for example

You can decide what you see in the notification panel and what you don't by simply unchecking the associated checkbox. If disabling it helps you remain focused, less emotionally triggered and committed to the long-term holding, use it to your convenience.

Yea frequently receiving notifications about price action can actually disrupt one’s plan on their bitcoin investment, most especially if they are beginners that gets emotional after a drop. However, if your worry is about other important notifications, and you careless about the price, then there is a place to set that from the exchange notification settings. You will enable what and what you want to be notified about just like Ashawowo have said.

I personally don’t like receiving notifications on the price update that why I disable it a very long time ago.

The way notifications about Bitcoin price affect us differently is an example of how we can tolerate volatility. In my case, switching off the notification will do nothing because I have a friend that act as a notification. He is active in alerting me on WhatsApp about how the Bitcoin market is moving. A very optimistic fellow, and it's impossible to get rid of him  Cheesy

Perhaps you missed the part where he said he disabled it. Is there any need to show him how to when he already knows?
And what's it with the huge image? Fix the size Tongue

I get notifications on my phone. But I haven't tried to turn them off. Rather, I don't have to check the price repeatedly , I get an idea of the price through notifications. Now the problem is those who change their decisions after seeing the price. If the mindset can be kept strong then even checking the price of Bitcoin does not have any negative effect. I myself have been accumulating Bitcoin regularly for about a year. I get regular price notifications on my phone. I have not felt any mental instability from these so far. If DCA can be done with long-term investment decisions, then short-term price changes cannot create such a negative situation for an investor. If you control your emotions and continue investing by creating a strong backup fund, it is possible to refrain from panic selling or force selling.

Most times there are some things that are really not necessary. I know everybody may have their different reasons why they need to be notified on its price but considering it effects and how it can keep one to be constantly emotional, I don't think we need it. Moreover, If it happens to be a long term investors then what's the essence of it when you already know its disadvantage. Unless Maybe you're a trader that is only looking out for the best time to dive into the market that you think will be okay with you. Otherwise I see no reason we should always be updated about the market situation.
