If the price update gets you emotional, there's an option to disable it in your exchange notification settings, see here my ByBIT for example

You can decide what you see in the notification panel and what you don't by simply unchecking the associated checkbox. If disabling it helps you remain focused, less emotionally triggered and committed to the long-term holding, use it to your convenience.

Thanks for the tip bro, I just made the necessary adjustments to my exchange notification yesterday and so far I’ve not received any notification regarding price changes.

For those people who say those notifications isn’t any problem for them, good for you. It’s been a problem for me regardless of the fact that my intention is long term. I personally think it’s best to stop whatever might be the problem for me than to try to live like other person whereas we might be coming from two different world of experience and exposure

To me I do not really see anything wrong to enable price alerts or notifications because if you are that type of person that loves doing DCA, you can be gradually be accumulating when the price falls very low according to how the notification came in, you can quickly buy if you do not want to set a buying orders because you believe that price would like go lower than expected so when the notification comes you can quickly rush to go accumulate some sat to keep building your portfolio.
I like the first parts of your statement, I mean the part you talked about people who are DCAing. The truth is that, folks who are DCAing don't actually need to worry about which entry point is best for them to enter or which price point they should restrain themselves from buying, even though they have the discretionary income to invest with. And for, this is basically the best approach, there's really no reason to put yourself through the pressure timing the market when you can simply just concentrate on your DCA and focus on other things, and just leave timing the market for traders.

Price notification does not have any effect in what I'm doing, the truth is we all have different ways of handling and / or controlling our emotions. I'm sure that those that knows how to control Their emotions won't get affected by the price notification, but it is a good thing you stopped getting notifications about the price movement since you know that you're not strong enough to control your emotion especially when the price is facing a serous correction. I think that's the best way to deal with it rather than forcing yourself to be strong because you might loss it some day and then decide to sell your holdings.

The truth remains that nobody is too strong or too disciplined to not compromise, they just need life to play some tricks one them and this kind of messages popping up all the time.

This is happening in all aspects of our life but we just haven't thought about it yet. It's information that is being used to control our life choices everyday, we take decisions and think we just thought of that ourselves but that certain intonations have being shaping out minds over time and it ends up with us taking that decision we just did anything we take one.

The choices to buy Bitcoin was taken because of an information you got and that's how it's going to be when you decide on selling and there isn't much we can do about that but we have to know when the informations are deciding what we do to go against our favour. There's always going to be numerous information targetted at you but out deciding to choice what influencea our life or not is ours to makes .

Don't allow them to choose for us irrespective of the power they own, it's you that should make the final decision and it should only be for your own benefits. There exchanges are required by law to update us on our investments so they aren't doing anything wrong but don't allow their notifications make you make a bad choice.

When this notifications actually makes us emotional, exchanges do actually benefit. Exchanges do collects a trading fee each time a price alert causes you to panic and sell or even FOMO buy.

There are businesses that are design that aren’t to help you to hold for long term, they are design to generate daily trading volume.

As a long term time holder, you have no consine with what price is doing each single hour. Turning off unnecessary alert, so you control what information that reaches your screen. This a best way to protect investment and a peace of mind.

Finally found someone who understands the logic of this post. It excites me to see that you understand the topic of control and how it can be used to slowly manipulate people even when it looks harmless. Most people may think their exchanges is doing them good by constantly updating them regarding price but the truth is those notifications are only going to make one emotional about their holdings especially when there is a real life haptic situation revolving around the crypto space.
Sometimes we fail to realize that we are a product of what we see and listen to. The kind of persons we meet or come across, and these things are only possible because those experiences find their way into our subconscious and before we know it we start experiencing behavioral changes. And that is why I would always Prefer to be selective to what I see or listen than to form okponku Grin
