Has gambling become a place to loose your hard earned money?

I am one of those who are on the losing side when it comes to money spent on gambling.

Well, that is the norm. I think many gamblers will agree with me. Sometimes, losing doesn't hurt as much anymore because we've gotten used to it. The fact that there is less news or stories about gamblers who won is proof that it is not meant to make money. It's made to entertain us or to boost the entertainment factor of the games or the sports. Just imagining games like dice without money being risked is already boring.

I think this is a personal experience and not everyone can confidently say that losing doesn't hurt as much anymore. A lot of people start out gambling with the intention fun or being entertained but in the long run they end up losing a lot that affects them, every player is aware of the risks involved in gambling but they still try to use it as a source of income. But this is what makes it gambling, staking and expecting a reward.

There are so many gamblers that can really testify of earning profits from gambling because most of the gamblers today that think there are not gambling making huge amount of money through gambling is totally wrong, and I'm not say that gamblers are not facing hard times in gambling, so i will not deny the fact that some previous years back when i have not been able to figure out the strategies that will work for me, to be honest with you on those years, i see gambling as a place of losing hard earn money because my losing is more than my winning due to my desperation of winning to become rich but now i don't think the desperation is not longer there, because i can't stay weeks without gambling.

That's for you, because you are learning from your previous experience,  some gamblers are still making same mistake everyday,  they're still very much desperate to win a bet , even after many loses,  they waste their hard earned money into gambling and cry home after loses.  Yes many gamblers make so much money from gambling,  in a fact they have made so much than they have lost, there are gambers like that,  but it's rare, wining Is hard in gambling.

You don't attach emotion that's why you can stay a week without gambling,  I can stay too because I play gambling oy when I'm chance or have some spare cash to try my luck, since gambling is a game of luck,  knowing this will make you to control your gambling time and money.

Approaching gambling as fun is what we have been preaching for quite too long for everyone to take gambling as, because refusing to do so will lead such a person to financial ruin.

This is the main point that gambling is not a good place to make money. There are many gamblers who find pleasure in gambling not only in spending money, they think that gambling is not about winning but also the pleasure they get from it. This is not the case for everyone. There are many gamblers who gamble only to make a profit and they continue to do so until their expectations are met. Gambling is not a place to make money, but a misconception of gamblers exposes them to a lot of losses. I myself have lost a lot in gambling but I never regret it. I also try not to bet more than I can afford to lose. I think those who come to success from gambling are waiting for an uncertain future. My clear message is that if you come for money, then quit gambling but if you enjoy and manage it under your control, then gamble.

Mostly people never try to understand the main point of gambling because different needs always keep their hype at the top of their mind, and they always dig into this without having any chance of coming back because gambling has never been for quick riches or regular profit; it always has an unpredictable nature and needs to keep things on a level where people have entertainment for time being and end without any big trouble.

Sadly, things are going on at a level where promotions and a few influencers always bring results, which increase greediness, and then their lives take turns never trying to have anything, which increases addiction and also has them have financial troubles at top because it's never working; they always try to stay on level where anyone can afford and have nothing problematic.

This is why we always advise people to be careful when gambling.  It's a common knowledge to everyone that, there is no way your profit can be higher that losses in gambling. Anyone that begins to sell their property, borrowing money,or stealing to gamble are already addicted.  Pulling them out of that situation is very tough   which is why whatever we do , we must always have sense of sel control and when it comes to gambling you will need and extra control, because the desire to win back lost money can destroy everything a person has worked for.

Gambling is a game where you try your luck to see if you will be profitable or not. While doing so, you will spend your hard earned money to achieve your aim. If you are lucky, then good for you, but if you lose, it means that your money is gone.

OP, it has, am just wasting money gambling, and the funny thing is I use to justify my actions that am just gambling for fun meanwhile the loses is always quadruple the amount of profit I've generated, especially this year. It wasn't as severe as the current predicament I find myself because I have always proud myself in being a profitable gambler but they are really turning my back on this one.

It is if you choose to be, and you are considered an irresponsible gambler if you choose to gamble your hard-earned money, because gambling is a game of uncertainty.
Only a fool will risk their hard-earned money. Your hard-earned money should be allocated to your family's needs, and only play in casinos with excess money or money that is allocated for entertainment purposes.

Only Fools expect success from gambling because until any time something like this will never happen so don't force yourself too much to expect this as a reality considering that nothing really successful from gambling is done.

Also, for the question in the thread you made I think it depends on the perspective and how the person behaves towards gambling. This can cost money it is very possible especially for those who can not manage finances and just focus on gambling then I think it's just counting the time before they lose everything.
But on the one hand this also does not happen to everyone because after all we know the more gamblers, the more people remind that do not be too excessive in gambling and not a few gamblers who apply responsibility and self-limitation so that even though the risk of gambling is a higher addiction but when there are some limits that are not violated including in managing finances then we can minimize money losses.

I think gambling is almost as old as the world because it began very long time ago. Before now gambling existed in a different form, but today because of the increasing technology, gambling has entered into the digital world.
However, I have come to realize that many gamblers right from when gambling started existing have not been on the safer side, many gamblers have not made any gain rather they make losses in regular basis, and just very Small percentage of gamblers can boast of life changing rewards from it, and will every gambler really make life changing rewards? I can equally see that some countries are placing ban on their citizens not to gamble, and some are trying to regulate the system so that gamblers can be responsible, and spend less money instead of gambling with all their money.
We have had many stories here, how gambling has shattered some families, and relationship, and some people gamble with money meant for their family upkeep, and all this story is about the risk that gambling pose to our financial growth.

Who cares if they will? Imo idon't even think it is appropriate for person to be gambling because of wealth.Gambling isn't even certain to start with, the house has the edge over players. Which is why bookmakers can continue operating for lots of years and keep making profit in the long run. Person could win big right now, but that is not certain that the person will keep winning more than they have lost over the years.

This is why person should always gamble with what they can afforded to loose and they should not think of gambling as a way to solve financial problems. Gambling should just be for fun.

Gambling has been in existence for long now, because while growing up I know my dad has a pool book in our sitting room where he study draws, and sometime win something,and majorly lose huge,now I'm all grown and I also gamble still my dad also gambles, so it's not longer new that gambling has been in existence for years ,but one thing I realized my dad has never won a life changing amount ,it's usually money to sort out one or two for the family,so it doesn't mean how good and experience you are , winning huge has nothing to do with that ,just that some persons are just so lucky when it's comes to gambling,while some are also unlucky ,so I don't advice people to see it as a full time job despite the fact we all are looking for something in it .

Every gambler should realize that gambling shouldn’t be placed as their primary source of income, once too much of expectation is placed on gambling the bettor is bound to have issues because he will be making numerous bets with the mindset of recovering loses or making profits.

No one should think of gambling and think of success, success can not be from gambling through determination, unless the person is looking for his own doom. Gambling should just be taken as something done for fun. The reason many people get addicted to gambling is because of their greediness of thinking they can make money from gambling.

People want to get rich in a short time from gambling and they don't want to work hard. This is the main reason for their addiction to gambling. They participate in gambling to get rich and not for pleasure. As a gambler you are not suppose to be carried away whenever you are gambling. Make sure you are aware of the amount which you are gambling with, make sure you know when to stop gambling, don’t always exceed your limit whenever you are gambling, always gambling with any amount you can afford to lose, and try to avoid gambling addiction.

The people that do crazy things whenever they are gambling are people that are already addicted to gambling, they are ready to sell their properties just because they want to gamble. A responsible gambler will gamble with any amount which he can afford to lose, and won’t gamble with any amount which is going to affect him when he lose, he will stop gambling when he knows that the luck is not by his side.

Looking at gambling from history, their pattern of gambling and how we gamble now is not the same. They do it for money and also to gather around with friends and the games are mostly between friends or people who are seeing each other. It’s a totally different case here when we compare it with today's gambling. It’s more of profit chasing than actual fun only few people are really gambling just to relieve stress and pass time majority are doing it because they desire another source of income which is a wrong way to look at it but on the other hand someone should expect little return from where ever they are spending money on.

This is why it’s important to learn how to control yourself from the start, regardless of whether it’s your favorite game or not. If your gambling budget is gone, that’s when you need to stop and go back to doing other activities.

A problem i often see is when a gambler suffers a loss, their ego immediately flares up, they refuse to accept that they’ve lost and feelings of frustration and anger arise simultaneously, until they eventually deposit more money, not for entertainment, but to chase their losses.
