Monzero (XMZ)
Independent privacy coin · RandomX CPU mining · no premine · no ICO

Website  |  Pool  |  Explorer  |  Whitepaper  |  Source  |  Roadmap

What is Monzero?

Monzero is an independent privacy currency built from the Monero codebase. It runs its own chain (genesis block 25 August 2026) with its own address prefixes, ports and emission schedule. It shares no history with Monero.

  • Private by default: amounts are hidden with RingCT, senders are hidden in rings of 16, and every payment goes to a one-time address.
  • Fair to mine: RandomX proof of work, built for ordinary CPUs. No premine, no ICO, no token sale, no developer fee in the block reward.
  • Paid for forever: a smooth emission curve toward 100 million XMZ, then a permanent 3.26 XMZ per block tail, so miners keep securing the chain.

Mining

Pool — pool.monzero.org · PPLNS · 1% fee · paid hourly (minimum 1 XMZ) after 60 confirmations
Code:
xmrig -o pool.monzero.org:3333 -u YOUR_XMZ_ADDRESS -p rig1 -a rx/0
  • Port 3333: starting difficulty 5,000 (desktops and laptops)
  • Port 5555: starting difficulty 50,000 (servers)
  • Fixed difficulty: add it to your address, e.g. YOUR_XMZ_ADDRESS+20000
  • Your stats: paste your address on the pool page

Solo — against your own node, or the public node:
Code:
xmrig --daemon -o node.monzero.org:6175 -u YOUR_XMZ_ADDRESS -a rx/0

XMRig is in most Linux distributions' repositories (e.g. pacman -S xmrig) and at xmrig.com.

Wallets and downloads — release Monzero v1.0.0 (stable)

Upgrade before block 21,000 (about 31 October 2026): v1.0.0 switches difficulty to LWMA at that block. It is not a chain reset; coins and wallets are unchanged. Anyone running their own node, including solo miners, must upgrade. Wallets on a public node and pool miners need do nothing.

Run a node (helps the network more than anything else):
Code:
./start-monzerod.sh
# Linux package; it adds the known Monzero peers. Then open TCP 6174
# in your firewall so other nodes can reach you.

Founder mining — please read

Monzero has no premine: every coin was mined. But before anyone else was mining, the founder's machines mined most blocks, and the founder still mines and runs the pool.

The founder holds 376,052.80 XMZ, about 20% of all XMZ mined (height 9,838; falling as others mine). The full statement explains how they were mined, and will add a view key and reserve proof so you can check them, and the founder's commitments: no selling for 12 months, then at most 2% a month announced a week ahead, never into a new market, and founder mining kept below a quarter of network hash rate.
Founder holdings statement

The network is still small: about 160 kH/s on 17 October 2026, most of it through the public pool. More independent miners and nodes make the chain harder to attack, so please mine solo or run a node if you can.

Status and risks

  • v1.0.0 is the first stable release and is signed with the Monzero release key, but the code has not been independently audited yet.
  • XMZ is not listed on any exchange yet and has no price. Several exchanges have approached the project; the first listing goal is Biconomy, funded by donations at monzero.org/fund, where every donation is shown live from the blockchains.
  • Nothing here is an offer or investment advice. Mine and test only what you can afford to lose.
  • Found a security problem? Please report it privately: monzero.org/security

Roadmap

  • Done: mainnet (Aug 2026), CLI and GUI wallets for Linux and Windows, public nodes and explorer, mining pool with hourly payouts (Oct 2026), signed stable release v1.0.0 (17 Oct 2026).
  • In progress: an atomic-swap exchange inside the wallet, LTC/XMZ first. Swaps and refunds have completed on the public Litecoin testnet, including from the wallet's built-in Litecoin light wallet. Real-money trading is not enabled.
  • Next: the LWMA difficulty upgrade at block 21,000 (about 31 October 2026; node operators upgrade to v1.0.0 before then), more independent nodes and miners, an independent security review.

FAQ

Is this a Monero fork?
Built from the Monero codebase, with its own chain from block 0. It does not copy Monero's history or balances.

Is there a premine or dev fee?
No premine, no ICO and no dev fee in the block reward. The founder mined early blocks like any miner; see the founder holdings statement in the first post.

Where can I trade XMZ?
Nowhere yet, on purpose. Listing waits until mining is spread out enough that the chain is hard to attack.

Which wallet should I use?
The GUI wallet on Windows, or monzero-wallet-cli on Linux and Windows. Write down your 25-word seed and keep it offline.

My mined coins show as locked.
Mined coins unlock after 60 blocks (about 2 hours). Pool payouts arrive hourly once you reach 1 XMZ.

How do I check the pool is honest?
Every block the pool finds is listed on pool.monzero.org with its hash; look it up in the explorer.

MONZERO (XMZ) — COMMUNITY EXCHANGE LISTING FUND

Initial Goal: $10,000 USD

Stretch Goal: $20,000 USD

Official Website | Blockchain Explorer | GitHub

Exchange Listing Funding Campaign

We have received approaches regarding potential centralised exchange listings for Monzero (XMZ), with indicative costs of approximately $10,000 USD per exchange.

As an independently developed cryptocurrency project, we do not currently have the financial resources to cover these costs ourselves.

We are therefore seeking community support to help Monzero reach its next milestone: obtaining its first external exchange listing.

Funding milestones:

- Phase 1: $10,000 — First potential exchange listing.
- Phase 2: $10,000 — Second potential exchange listing.
- Total target: $20,000 USD.

These figures are preliminary estimates. Exchange identities, commercial terms and additional liquidity or integration requirements must be verified before funds are committed.

Why support Monzero?

Monzero already has a functioning experimental blockchain, RandomX mining, downloadable software and publicly accessible development resources.

You can independently inspect the project:

- Network information and software
- Blockchain activity
- Development milestones
- Source code

Transparency commitment

We aim to publish a public contribution address, verifiable funding totals, expenditure records and updates on negotiations.

Please send contributions only to the addresses listed below. Always double-check the address before sending.

Note: The Solana address above is for USDT on the Solana network (SPL) only. Do not send SOL or other tokens to this address.

No listing is guaranteed, and contributions do not represent an investment, ownership interest or promise of financial returns.

Community participation

We also welcome miners, developers, testers, node operators and legitimate exchange contacts who can help us grow without significant financial expenditure.

Help Monzero reach its first exchange listing milestone.

Community-driven. CPU-mineable. Open development.
