What are some of the best ALTCOINS of this-coming cycle?

Very happy to have found this forum and to become a member here. I am close to 50 so I am from the dinasour old age of forums where we exchanged a lot of ideas and did a lot of business too.

I’m looking forward to exchanging ideas here, learning from experienced members, and contributing to the discussions. Maybe plugging our new project from time to time in appropriate sections. 

To start with, I’m curious about everyone’s view on the current market cycle:

Which altcoins do you think have the strongest potential to perform well in the next major bullish phase, and why?

Not necessarily looking for the biggest names only, I’d also be interested in smaller or mid-cap projects that you believe have strong fundamentals, adoption potential, or a good narrative for this cycle.

Would be great to hear different opinions and reasoning. We can keep it as a ledger hear so that we can come and read them from time to time.

I’ll start with NEAR and ZEC, two projects that seem to be getting a lot more attention lately.

NEAR looks interesting because of its strong focus on scalability, user-friendly infrastructure, and growing positioning around AI and chain abstraction. If adoption continues to improve, I think it has a good chance of becoming one of the stronger Layer-1 performers in a bullish cycle.

ZEC is a very different play, but privacy could become an increasingly important narrative again. With its established technology, long history, and renewed market interest in privacy-focused assets, ZEC could benefit significantly if that sector comes back into focus.

Zec? I wouldn't go after the coin because it already perform very wonderfully well, what else is going to happen? 2x? You missed it already so don't bother going for ZEC, you will be buying the top if you do.

Look for something different like Night, if privacy coin is your thing, or xmr, I think that Injective and Asta will perform very good compared to alot of altcoins in this space, there is no point looking for something brand new anymore.

Injective also planned to go ETF this 2027, they released an update on this and it's happening, these coins has great potential and better returns than Bitcoin, but I wouldn't turn away from Bitcoin, make sure you have some BTC and few promising altcoins.

Altcoins' propositions have to be unique. Not just another layer-1, and not just another privacy-focused coin (there are others like Monero). The main issue with investing in altcoins is that for every "unique altcoin with unique proposition", there is another one out there. Importantly, use cases and tokenomics are not the only factors affecting the price.

After the DeFi summer and crypto winter of 2021-2022, it would be a huge struggle for any altcoins. Even ETH is still way below its ATH.

I had same thoughts like you do when ZEC was at $400, and then it dumped to around $200+ when news of that vulnerability in their broke out months ago. From that price which I thought was expensive, it went on to do around 6x. Idk but I think if privacy is going to be a big deal in the near future especially with AI now in play, I won't be surprised if the most degenerate ones among us keep bidding this to $2k.

We are almost in the same era. It is funny that you said dinosaur old age.  

I’ll start with NEAR and ZEC, two projects that seem to be getting a lot more attention lately.

Honestly, I'm not really sure with NEAR and ZEC. Both altcoins seem far from their ATHs. Although it can survive quite well in crypto market, it seems not really the most promising altcoin for holding and to sell in the next bullrun season. Why don't you choose HYPE? This altcoin becomes one of the most promising altcoin nowadays, it even could reach a new ATH recently. It is also the top 9 crypto coins and it seems to continue its improvement. If you want to buy HYPE, you need to wait for the correction or big decline. Now, the price looks still quite expensive.

What I learned from previous cycle, coin that usually perform well in the bullrun are coins that performed well in bearish, which means they have demand even when market has turned bearish and the demand become bigger when market sentiment has become bullish. Previous cycle good performer are ZEC no doubt, then followed by HYPE which goes up even when market is bearish, and then the exchange coins.

Big name coins like ETH, SOL, SUI, and so on unfortunately don't perform as good because they have failed to broke through the all time high record that was achieved in the 2021 bullrun. If I were to bet on the best performer of the upcoming bullrun, I'd probably choose one that is doing really good right now.

If Near does not have market makers that are going to push the price, I don't think any proper decentralized enthusiasts will be interested in buying Near after the recent clash about stopping transaction of Bitgate stolen funds. When Bitget was hacked and money stolen, the hackers made attempt to route payment through Near protocol but they block it and people were against them that they are decentralized. Few days later, Near was exploited, that can't be a confidence, many people are against them for that action. In my opinion, I don't think it's worth gambling what many people hate for now.

ZEC is a good buy but that coin has pumped more than 500x in the last months, it will better if you let it cool down before you buy. The charts always respect a parabolic move, it's better you let people that want to dump do that first before you go in.
