Some of this would likely be better if it were an interactive webpage with the ability to filter out certain outliers.

This stuff is very interesting, though.

The WO thread arguably has its own community and does have its own set of rules. I would almost describe it as its own chatroom separate from the rest of the forum. I am curious as to how many people have only ever posted in the WO (and how many have posted >9x% of their posts in the WO).

I do agree.
There are better formats than a static forum page.

Probably a Wikipedia, or, in a more modern way, an LLM fed on that data.
This is for another life, when BTC will moon, I will be able to fire this project.

Anyone who has spent some time on this forum knows the Wall Observer BTC/USD, or simply "the WO". For those who don't: it's the Bitcoin price discussion thread in the Speculation board, opened on April 16, 2013 by adamstgBit and later taken over by infofront.

It was born in the middle of the MtGox era, with the price having just crashed from $266 to around $50, as a simple tracker of the order book "walls" (hence the name). Over more than thirteen years it has become much more than that: it is one of the longest and most-read threads on the entire forum, with more than 36,000 pages, over 700,000 posts, and more than 27 million reads.

The WO has lived through the whole history of Bitcoin in real time: the fall of MtGox, the 2017 bubble and the long winter that followed, the March 2020 crash, the 2021 highs, FTX, the ETFs, $100k.
Those pages contain analysis, insights, predictions that proved right, and others that turned out spectacularly wrong. They capture the excitement of rallies, the fear of crashes, the endless arguments, the memes, and the jokes that became part of a shared language. And they contain the people: users whose knowledge, humour, stubbornness, and personalities have given the Wall Observer its identity.

And that is exactly the problem. The WO is a hugely successful thread, but for an outsider, it is almost impenetrable. Nobody can read 36,000 pages; opening a page of the WO often means stepping into a conversation that began many years earlier. A joke refers to a distant episode, a nickname carries a story, and a seemingly baffling reply points back thousands of pages. Reading the latest posts only gives you part of the picture. Recovering that context from the beginning would take an enormous amount of time. The result is that an enormous amount of this community's memory risks staying buried, accessible only to those who lived it (and, as time goes by, not even to them).

the beauty of it is precisely this, following a discussion and trying to understand all the secrets that can also be fundamental for predicting how things may go in the future, because one thing is certain, Bitcoin is cyclical and always faces the path in the same way, and this is also why i rely on it so much,
even if WO there are 36,000 pages i follow it carefully in a very concentrated way to get ideas for the future!

Doing historical analyzes makes a lot of sense, it helps us understand the future.
In fact, we must be honest, bitcoin has performed very well but we can say that Wall Street has also performed well in this period.

How will it deal with a collapse? We will see if bitcoin is a good asset in my opinion very soon.

Guys, just to drive expectations, I think I am going to publish a weekly update on this thread, so both I have enough time to make a good work, and you have time to comment without being wiped out by data. Every week I will post the pair of posts related to a specific year. Next weekend: 2014, brace yourself!

This is a good idea because this update will keep the thread active and since the thread remains active, everyone will be able to keep the updates up to date. Since you think it would be good to update every week then do that, but if you still think there is a problem, you can make it monthly.
