If Bitcoin is created in 2026 where AI and quantum computer is now a thing I believe that the Quantum FUD will hit it very harder than what's happening right now because Bitcoin is very new and it's future is looking uncertainty.

Some part of the past will repeat again too, some people will call it nonsense, scam and others but will be more effective than 2009 because it's 2026, one thing will remain the same, the believers of Bitcoin will still adopt fast and hold.

However, I believe if Bitcoin was invented in 2026, many of us here would become early investors in Bitcoin, and it will be a great opportunity to us. When Bitcoin came on board in 2009, the awareness was very slow making many of us not to be aware of Bitcoin investing very early. Only very few of us had Android phones or computer then, and therefore had no easy access to Bitcoin investing. But today, there is Android phones everywhere, computers, and laptop, so investing in Bitcoin will be so easy, and many will be made millionaires compared to 2009.

I don't know about Bitcoin, but if the crypto industry had started functioning today, everything would be dominated by AI and everyone would be able to launch his own altcoin with the help of AI. I'm not saying that AI is perfect. It's obvious that AI is far from perfect and it makes mistakes, but almost everyone would use it in one way or another. I don't know if the governments and banks would be as tolerant towards crypto as they used to be in the past few years. Bitcoin was created back in 2009 because the level of technological development and knowledge back then was sufficient for it to be created.

It wasn't the time bitcoin was created and  introduced to the world that brought about the challenges it was met with, because in as much as it's for the first time people's doubt and resistance would still surface and the gauge with traditional perspective wouldn't have being of any difference.

Yes, you are right, because if Bitcoin had come in 2026 instead of 2009, people would still see 2026 as 2009, because it would have seemed brand new to people just like 2009. Actually, Bitcoin did not gain so much popularity in a short period of time, Bitcoin gradually gained popularity among people and its price increased so much because of people's demand and popularity.

I think there's another interesting possibility. What if governments had adopted blockchain technology almost immediately?

Why will the government choose to forget about the fiat system and embrace blockchain technology?

Up till now, we still have problems with some governments adopting blockchain technology, it is not about which generation Bitcoin was founded in, it is about understanding Bitcoin blockchain as a new technology. The world is heavily politicized, governments will go after Satoshi, and if they want, they will slow down adoption faster than back in the day.

I think there's another interesting possibility. What if governments had adopted blockchain technology almost immediately?

Instead of crypto becoming a separate financial market with exchanges, memecoins and thousands of speculative tokens, it could have developed primarily as a replacement for fiat money.

Governments might have created their own digital currencies, something similar to USDT, where the issuer can freeze addresses, control the supply and mint new coins.

In that case, the entire technology could have evolved in a completely different direction.

Maybe we wouldn't even have the crypto industry as we know it today, just a new financial system built around blockchain.

The government has already done that too. A couple of years ago and it is known as Central Bank Digital Currency or CBDC for short. We know it as centralized govcoin. For example China has the digital renminbi (e-CNY) that has had good success as well.

None of it has anything to do with (decentralized) bitcoin though. Nor would it stop the establishment of the altcoin market and creation of thousands and thousands of useless coins and tokens. And it definitely has not change anything about how the technology develops and in what direction. Because as I said, CBDC is centralized which puts it in a different category.

CBDC's are just another centralized coins handled by the government.

They prove that they could able to use blockchain, but they possess huge control with those coins. CBDC is just another fiat on which government, these things has nothing to do with real decetralization and those centralized coin cannot move the direction of this space.

This is also the reason why we have seen, the numbers of decentralized coins keep raising, because lots of people try to find a coin which government can't control.

I also think like you about this; the story would be more or less the same, except that there would be the added uncertainty of AI in its development and in the early stages of its application. So, from what we can see, if Bitcoin were an immature project, it’s likely that AI would have accelerated scams and fraud; however, it remains to be seen whether it might already have had implementations in place to prevent all that.

Not that simple tho. Getting into Bitcoin early is an advantage, but it doesn't mean you'll become a millionaire.
Plenty of people discovered Bitcoin early and invested in it, but most of them sold their coins after a while instead of holding on to them until today. Many were even developers or miners, and most of these early adopters knew Bitcoin well. Having earlier, easier access doesn't mean we'd see its potential, or be patient enough to hold it long term.

If Bitcoin was invented in 2026, imo plenty of us would just brush it off instead of buying in like you think.

Personally, I do not think that anything would have been different.
AI has been in existence since 2009 but in other forms... we are just experiencing the AI boom now. Nothing different.
What would have changed though is how people engaged with it... people are making money from AI now and it would have been a case of creating more crypto related content with AI and making money off of it, to either buy more bitcoin or just for personal use. The former for those who believe in it, while the latter for those who just want to make money.

Many people didn't know about Bitcoin because modern information and communication technologies were not available or popular. With the existence of social media and other communication platforms, more people would have known that an innovation like Bitcoin existed. Countries with fewer information technologies discovered Bitcoin late. This might be why most early Bitcoin adopters are from developed countries. They had access to the right medium to learn about Bitcoin and also advanced their knowledge.

I agree, AI would have played a big role in it. But I disagree that it would grow this big, I think of the opposite: if it happened a bit earlier or a bit later than when it happened, it would have not been this big. I think if it happened today, instead of 17+ years ago, social media would have ridiculed it and nobody would have used it because of peer pressure.

Look at NFT's; they were terrible of course, but it had absolutely no value other than "I own it" , zero instinct value, and yet Bitcoin is the same, we pay for it and that is why it has value, and yet we are willing to buy Bitcoin, and we make fun of people who buy NFT for the same reason. That is why I think if bitcoin came out today, nobody would have wanted it.
