Blazecoin (BLZ) V2.0
  A 2014 scrypt proof-of-work coin, maintained again

Website | Node (GitHub) | Wallets
  (GitHub)
| Telegram | Discord |
  YouTube

  What this is

Blazecoin launched on 23 May 2014 (original ANN, developer wpstudio). Its chain never stopped: a handful of miners kept it
running through the quiet years. In 2026 it gained new maintainers. The original 2014 team is not involved, and none of the 2014 social accounts or the old blazeco.in domain belong
  to us.

V2.0 is a fresh code base, not a rebrand:

  • Node: blazecoind, a Bitcoin Core 28 fork (standard RPC, getblocktemplate, descriptor wallets)

  • Phoenix-413 fork at block 4,194,000: per-block difficulty retarget

  • Post-quantum signatures (ML-DSA-44, NIST FIPS 204) live since block 4,250,000: new BQ… addresses alongside the classic B… ones

  • Open source, with SHA256SUMS published for every release

  Specifications

Algorithmscrypt (N=1024, r=1, p=1), proof of work
Block time30 seconds, retarget every block
Block reward now25.8125 BLZ (after the fourth halving, block 4,204,800)
Next halvingBlock 5,256,000 (about August 2027) → 12.90625 BLZ
Halving interval1,051,200 blocks (one year at 30 s)
Total emission, ever≈ 888.9 million BLZ, premine included
Mined so far≈ 94% (≈ 838 million BLZ at block 4,343,000)
Emission endsBlock 37,843,200
PremineBlock 1 = 20,650,000 BLZ (2014, disclosed then; ≈ 2.3% of total emission). Blocks 2–99 paid 13 BLZ for a fair start
P2P / RPC ports55414 / 55413
AddressesLegacy B… and post-quantum BQ…

About "max supply": the daemon's MAX_MONEY constant is 2.065 billion, but that is a consensus sanity bound the chain can never reach. The honest maximum is the ≈ 888.9 million that the
  reward schedule will ever create.

  Mining

  Public pool, stratum: stratum+tcp://blazecoin.co.uk:3333

  • PROP payouts weighted by share difficulty, 1% pool fee

  • Payouts every 15 minutes, 1 BLZ minimum
  • Register a miner on the site's Mining Pool page to get your worker name and its own worker secret (used as the stratum password)
  • Works with scrypt ASICs and USB sticks (cgminer / bfgminer)

Honest disclosure: today almost all of the hashrate comes from the maintainer's own rigs. More independent miners, and other pools, are exactly what this chain needs. Solo mining
against your own node with getblocktemplate works too.

Earning BLZ on the site: small and strictly limited

Registered users can earn small amounts of BLZ for genuine participation: sharing, inviting, mining milestones, quizzes, original content, community membership. These rewards are
  deliberately scarce:

  • Most tasks pay 0.01–0.05 BLZ, once per account. Content rewards have per-category caps; invites are limited by rank.

  • Withdrawals need a confirmed email, an account at least 7 days old, a wallet address you have proven you own (signed message), and a 0.1 BLZ minimum.

  • Disposable email domains are refused and signups are rate-limited per IP address. With these amounts, farming accounts is not worth anyone's time.
These are participation rewards, not an income. Nothing here is a promise of value.

  Wallets
Public relay nodes (addnode): 51.210.47.141:55414 and 54.39.23.245:55414

  Explorer and network

  Notes

  • The website, including pool registration, is not available from the United Kingdom or from sanctioned countries. The node and wallets on GitHub, the public relays and the web wallet at
  gw.blazecoin.co.uk are unaffected.

  • Blazecoin is not listed on any exchange at the moment. This thread is about the technology and the network, not about price.
  • Original mission, kept: the 413 BLZ block reward of 2014 honoured fire station #413, and the project's lore still supports volunteer fire fighters.

Registration on the website is invite-only. Invite codes are given out in the Telegram and Discord channels: Telegram |
Discord. Or reply here and I'll send you one by private message.

The node, wallets, relays and the web wallet need no account at all.

Hey everyone,

An update on Blazecoin (BLZ) from me, the developer. Blazecoin launched on 23 May 2014 as a fast-block (30-second) scrypt proof-of-work fork of the Litecoin 0.8 codebase. Its 413 BLZ block reward is a tribute to Station 413. The chain has been mined continuously ever since, through the loss of its exchanges in 2019, and in 2026 it got a full v2 rebuild. The headline: on 16 September 2026 it hard-forked at block 4,250,000 to add post-quantum signatures, live on mainnet.

Here is what changed, for node operators, miners and anyone interested in the tech.

1. Same chain, modern engine
Instead of leaving a 12-year-old codebase to rot, I rebased the node onto Bitcoin Core 28. It's the same chain and the same history, with no new token and no swap.
  • Standard Core RPC, so the usual tooling works.
  • A new desktop wallet (Windows and macOS) with transaction history export (CSV/JSON/Excel/PDF), wallet encryption with auto-lock, and a built-in CPU miner.
  • The desktop wallet imports an original 2014 wallet.dat and migrates it to the modern descriptor format automatically.
  • Source: github.com/AMA-CSharp-Code/blazecoin-core

2. Post-quantum signatures (ML-DSA-44)
  • The scheme: ML-DSA-44, the lattice-based signature standardised by NIST as FIPS 204. The hard fork activated at block 4,250,000 (16 Sep 2026, 20:18 UTC), and the first post-quantum coinbase was block 4,250,880.
  • P2PQH (pay to post-quantum key hash): a new address format starting with BQ…. Moving to it is voluntary. Wallet 2.0.9 and later use BQ by default for receive, change and sweeps.
  • The size cost: a post-quantum input is about 3.8 KB, against about 150 bytes for a legacy one, so a 1 MB block holds about 260 all-PQ inputs (roughly 750,000 a day at 2,880 blocks). That is ample for this chain's volume.
  • Design choices: single signature with no ECDSA hybrid. Algorithm IDs are reserved, so ML-DSA-65/87 can be added later without another address format.
What it means for holders: coins on a legacy B… address are only protected while that address's public key has never appeared on-chain, i.e. you have never spent from it. To be covered, move your coins to a BQ… address.

3. Phoenix-413: per-block difficulty
Small scrypt chains often die when a big miner leaves and difficulty stays stuck too high to find the next block. Since block 4,194,000 (26 August 2026), Blazecoin retargets every block with ASERT, the exponential algorithm adapted from Bitcoin Cash, with a half-life of 413 blocks. Difficulty halves for every ~3.4 hours the chain falls behind schedule, so after a sudden hashrate collapse the chain recovers in hours to about a day, not weeks.

4. Light wallets sign on your device
The Android and web light wallets generate keys and sign transactions on your device, so your keys never go to the server. They also check a merkle proof against the block's scrypt proof-of-work for the coins they spend, so a server can't feed them fake coins. As with any web wallet, the web version is only as trustworthy as the site that serves it; for the strongest setup, use the desktop wallet with your own full node.

Specs at a glance:
Code:
Algorithm:        Scrypt PoW (N=1024, r=1, p=1)
Block time:       30 s
Retarget:         every block (Phoenix-413 ASERT, since 4,194,000)
P2P port:         55414
PQ hard fork:     block 4,250,000 (16 Sep 2026)
PQ signatures:    ML-DSA-44 (NIST FIPS 204)
PQ addresses:     BQ...
Pool:             Stratum port 3333, PROP, 1% fee

Disclaimer: BLZ is an open-source hobbyist network: anyone can run a node or mine, and more independent nodes and miners are exactly what it needs. Treat it as a technical project, not an investment. I will never ask for your seed phrase or private keys.

Site: blazecoin.co.uk

What do you think of retrofitting a 2014 chain with NIST post-quantum standards instead of launching a new token? I'm happy to go into the design: why ML-DSA-44 over Falcon or SLH-DSA, why no hybrid, and how it fits into a 2014 UTXO chain.

Coin provenance in the official Blazecoin wallet: trace every BLZ back to the year it was mined

Blazecoin (BLZ) is a scrypt (N=1024, r=1, p=1) proof-of-work coin that has been mined continuously since 23 May 2014: the same chain and the same coins, block after block. Because the history is unbroken, every coin carries a record of when it entered circulation. The official wallet now reads that record for you.

What provenance is
Provenance built into the official wallet: trace every BLZ back to the year it was mined, since 2014.

In practice, the wallet follows each coin's outputs back through the chain to the block that created them, and shows you which year those coins were mined. You don't need to trust a third-party database or a block explorer. The wallet works it out from the chain data your own node already holds.

Why this is useful
  • You can see how your balance breaks down by mining year (2014, 2015, and so on up to today).
  • It shows how coins move over time, which is a practical way to learn how UTXO chains work.
  • It works with legacy B... addresses and with post-quantum BQ... addresses (ML-DSA-44 (NIST FIPS 204), active since block 4,250,000). Moving coins to a BQ... address is voluntary, and provenance still follows them after the move.

Vintage coins and participation rewards
If you hold vintage coins, you can earn small participation rewards. These are a thank-you for keeping long-standing coins on the network, nothing more. They are not a salary and are not a reason to acquire BLZ.

To take part, you prove you control the coins by signing a message with the address that holds them. Signing happens inside your wallet. Your private keys and recovery phrase never leave it, and nobody needs to see them.

Open-source software
Everything is published and buildable from source:

Network basics for reference: block time 30 seconds, current block reward 25.8125 BLZ, next halving at block 5,256,000 (about August 2027), total emission about 888.9 million BLZ. If you would rather mine than hold, the pool is at stratum+tcp://blazecoin.co.uk:3333 (fee 1%).

Community channels

Scam warning
  • BLZ has no exchange listing. Anyone offering to sell you a listing, an early allocation or a "provenance upgrade" is running a scam.
  • Nobody from the project will message you first. Treat any unsolicited private message claiming to be from Blazecoin as a scam.
  • Nobody will ever ask for your recovery phrase or private keys. Verifying vintage coins only requires a signed message.
  • Use only the official links above. Old domains and 2014-era social accounts are not controlled by the project.

Crypto-assets are volatile and largely unregulated; their value can fall to zero. Nothing here is financial or investment advice.
This is not directed at persons in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area.

Blazecoin (BLZ) is now listed on KPowBIT
  Trade BLZ/USDT on KPowBIT

Big day for Blazecoin: BLZ is trading again. KPowBIT opened the BLZ/USDT market yesterday, and deposits, withdrawals and trading are live.

It is a milestone for a chain that has been producing blocks since May 2014. This year Blazecoin moved to a new V2 node built on Bitcoin Core 28, retargets difficulty every block, added post-quantum (ML-DSA-44)
signatures, and now has desktop, Android and web wallets, a public pool and an active community. A market was the missing piece.

  Getting started
Thank you to everyone who has mined, tested and followed the project through the V2 rebuild. More to come.

Questions about deposits or withdrawals: post here or ask in Telegram / Discord.

  Not financial advice.

Wallet 2.0.13 released (Windows + macOS)

A fix in Preferences → Sign Message: if you changed the address after being asked for a passphrase, the wallet unlocked the wrong wallet and the node refused the signature. The signing sequence now re-finds the owning wallet on every attempt. Nothing else changed; both builds still bundle Core 2.1.1.

Windows: https://github.com/AMA-CSharp-Code/blazecoin-wallet/releases/tag/v2.0.13-windows
macOS (universal): https://github.com/AMA-CSharp-Code/blazecoin-wallet/releases/tag/v2.0.13-macos

SHA256 sums are in each release. Install over any 2.0.x; wallets and settings are kept.
