NERBUS

NRB · VerusHash 2.2 · Hybrid PoW/PoS · Zero premine

Website | Block Explorer | Mining Pool | How to Mine | Source

Introducing Nerbus

Nerbus is an independent cryptocurrency network with NRB as its native coin. It combines CPU mining through VerusHash 2.2 with the hybrid Proof of Work / Proof of Stake consensus inherited from VerusCoin.

The core parameters are straightforward: a 30-second target block interval, an initial reward of 100 NRB per block, zero premine and a maximum cumulative block reward schedule of 209,000,000 NRB. The genesis block pays no reward.

The project is based on VerusCoin v1.2.18. Nerbus has its own network identity, genesis block and issuance parameters. Its public software includes Core, a standalone Qt desktop wallet and a block explorer, with source code available for inspection.

For miners, the entry point is a compatible CPU miner and an NRB receiving address. For users, the Qt wallet creates addresses and signs transactions locally. For node operators and developers, Core provides the daemon, command-line tools and consensus implementation.

Halving interval1,045,000 blocks
Maximum cumulative block rewards209,000,000 NRB

The 50/50 figure describes the target balance between PoW and PoS blocks. It is not a split of each individual block reward or a requirement that block types alternate strictly.

How NRB issuance works

The reward starts at 100 NRB and halves after each 1,045,000-block period:

Code:
First block of period    Base reward
1                        100 NRB
1,045,001                 50 NRB
2,090,001                 25 NRB
3,135,001                 12.5 NRB

There are 34 reward periods. The final subsidized block is 35,530,000; its reward includes a rounding adjustment so that cumulative permitted block rewards reach exactly 209,000,000 NRB. After that height, the new block subsidy is zero. Transaction fees transfer existing coins.

Halvings follow block height. At the target interval, one period is approximately 363 days; actual timing depends on block production. Circulating supply can be lower than the reward ceiling because of unclaimed rewards or burned coins.

Extract the complete package, keeping its bundled libraries and plugins together. On Windows, open nerbus-qt.exe. On Linux, use ./nerbus-qt.sh; the Linux package requires glibc 2.35+ and X11 or XWayland.

To receive mining payouts, open Receive, create a new receiving address and copy your transparent NRB address. Back up your wallet after creating new addresses. Password encryption is available under Wallet & backup.

Start CPU mining

Use a PBaaS-compatible CPU build of ccminer 3.8.3 with VerusHash 2.2 support. The algorithm option is -a verus. Platform-specific miner downloads and setup instructions are in the How to Mine guide. Miner binaries are separate from Wallet and Core downloads.

Code:
Pool:           stratum+tcp://pool.nerbus.com:39480
Username:       YOUR_NRB_ADDRESS.worker1
Password:       x
Algorithm:      verus
Payment method: PROP
Pool fee:       0%
Minimum payout: 1 NRB

Windows example:
Code:
ccminer.exe -a verus -o stratum+tcp://pool.nerbus.com:39480 -u YOUR_NRB_ADDRESS.worker1 -p x -t 4

Linux example:
Code:
./ccminer -a verus -o stratum+tcp://pool.nerbus.com:39480 -u YOUR_NRB_ADDRESS.worker1 -p x -t 4

Replace YOUR_NRB_ADDRESS with your own receiving address. The .worker1 suffix identifies your machine, and -t 4 selects four CPU threads. Adjust the thread count to your hardware and cooling. The pool only needs your public address; x is a placeholder, not your wallet password.

Pool mining does not require a local node or keeping the wallet open. Check for accepted shares in the miner, then follow your address on the pool. PROP rewards depend on your accepted shares in each round. Payouts follow block maturity and the minimum payout threshold; network transaction fees are deducted from payouts. Current settings and statistics are on the Mining Pool.

Follow the included README and configuration example, including fetching the cryptographic parameter files before starting a full node. The 0.1.0 Core package currently reports 0.1.0-dev internally. Wallet and Core are separate applications.

Direct downloads above point to the listed versions. Use the Releases pages for future versions and verify archives against the corresponding SHA-256 files.

It's unclear how staking works, CCminer isn't showing blocks, another miner like SRB and mobile miners aren't working, and there might be a hash rate redirection for Verus

It's as if Nerbus Stop is secretly digging for Verus, you might disperse.

I’ve launched a small mining pool based in Belgium for those who want to mine: https://nerbus.avisflow.online

What are you talking about? The site is working perfectly.
NRB community pool - connection settings and CPU mining guide

Thanks, aquejoh, for adding Nerbus support.

For anyone looking to try the community-operated Avisflow pool, here are the connection settings and specific CPU miner downloads.

Choose your mining mode

The operator currently lists:
  • Shared mining: PPLNT, port 39481. Rewards are distributed according to the pool's share and mining-time accounting.
  • SOLO mining: port 39480. The block reward goes to the miner who finds the block. Submitting ordinary shares does not earn a share of other miners' blocks.
  • Pool fee: 0% for both modes.
  • Minimum payout: 1 NRB, after block maturity. The pool lists 101 confirmations.

The examples below use shared mining on port 39481.

1. Get an NRB receiving address

Download Nerbus Wallet, open Receive and create a receiving address.

Use your transparent NRB address beginning with N. Pool mining does not require running a local node or keeping the wallet open.

2. Choose the correct ccminer build

Nerbus uses VerusHash 2.2. Use a PBaaS-compatible CPU build; the ccminer algorithm option is -a verus.

Windows x64

Download ccminer_CPU_3.8.3.zip from the monkins1010 CPU release. The archive password published by the maintainer is 12345678.

Extract the full archive and create mine-nrb.bat beside ccminer.exe:

Code:
@echo off
cd /d "%~dp0"
ccminer.exe -a verus -o stratum+tcp://nerbus.avisflow.online:39481 -u YOUR_NRB_ADDRESS.worker1 -p x -t 4
pause

Linux x86_64

Download ccminer-v3.8.3a-oink_Ubuntu_18.04 from the Oink70 CPU release, save it as ccminer, and run from that directory:

Code:
chmod +x ccminer
./ccminer -a verus -o stratum+tcp://nerbus.avisflow.online:39481 -u YOUR_NRB_ADDRESS.worker1 -p x -t 4

The Nerbus mining guide includes Linux dependencies and checksum verification. Its examples use a different pool hostname, so use the Avisflow commands above when connecting here.

For both systems:
  • Replace YOUR_NRB_ADDRESS with your receiving address.
  • .worker1 identifies your machine; give each machine a different worker name.
  • -t 4 selects four CPU threads. Adjust for your hardware and cooling.
  • -p x is a pool placeholder, not your wallet password.

3. Check shares and payouts

Look for accepted shares in the miner, then enter your NRB address in the search box on the pool homepage to view your workers and payment information.

Accepted shares are contributions to mining; they are not immediate wallet payments. Shared payouts depend on the pool finding blocks, block maturity, your credited reward and the payout threshold. Orphaned blocks do not pay.

For a concrete example, this payout transaction is present in both the pool's payment history and the Nerbus explorer.

Alternative Linux miner

The operator also lists Aria Energy NRB 1.1.0 for Linux x86_64 CPUs with AES-NI. Its stated 1% developer fee is separate from the pool's 0% fee. Downloads and launch instructions are on the pool's getting-started page.

If you encounter connection failures or rejected shares, please include your OS, CPU, miner version and the exact error message so we can investigate.
