what is the essence of us having this type of revolutionary digital money without it been used in real sense, by this I mean that we using Bitcoin on the supermarket, market and buying things without any rigorous process. just a simple transaction between buyer and seller via Bitcoin, I know plenty people will be saying that Bitcoin was not ment for this as it's a digital money. But at this stage of Bitcoin this should be the next level that Bitcoin adoption should be heading to, the reason is that this will reshaped the history and future of Bitcoin.
Haha, then what should be the case? What rigorous process are you talking about, olutu? What is even adoption in your eyes? Your own post has a contradiction at one point regarding LN, but that's not the biggest issue I see here. The thing is, you don't know how much Bitcoin has been adopted yet.

Many franchises are now accepting Bitcoin as a payment method, and by the end of 2025, 21,800+ locations in different regions were accepting BTC directly. BitPay alone is serving more than 130k merchants, and LN payments have been enabled by Block's Square POS network, which serves around 1 million US merchants.

I am giving you a link, and you must read what has been shared and then think again about the post you created.

https://www.spark.money/tools/bitcoin-merchant-adoption-map#bitcoin-merchant-adoption-overview

You would say to yourself, "How did I have the audacity to make a topic like this?" haha. It's not a taunt, but a lesson for all readers.

So the big question is , Making Bitcoin spendable in real world living how possible is it.
Someone told me some time ago that we should try to appreciate the little things we have already accomplished instead of complaining of those that have not yet been.

Bitcoin as far as I'm concerned has a good level of adoption. It may be small in some sense but considering how fast bitcoin has grown in the past couple years, it's a milestone.

Many of the area which you cited already incorporate Bitcoin. The only thing is people are more conscious of price volatility. A business where capital is very important would not want to watch all their money dump during the bear seasons.

So even when they accept Bitcoin payments from customers, they may somehow prefer to convert those bitcoins into stable coins  at the end of the day to preserve capital.

I also asked myself this question, because what is the essence of this currency if we are not using it in our daily lives? Most of us only prefer to hold bitcoin as an asset rather than spending it as a currency and then sell when the price rises. If only we were using bitcoin for everyday transactions instead of holding it in our wallets for the long term, I’m sure bitcoin adoption would have gone far by now. Nevertheless, the adoption rate is still quite high, even though many people prefer to hold it rather spend it.

The things you mentioned in your first paragraph, people didn't sit down to say, let us use Bitcoin in this way before it started being used like this. Bitcoin is a free coin where people can use it however they want. Adoption is not forced. It's something that has to happen naturally. I don't believe there is a next phase. I don't even believe there is a phase. If a time comes when people are going to use Bitcoin as a payment system worldwide, then people will adopt it organically. The good thing is that the option of Bitcoin is available. People come to Bitcoin because they are attracted to it. It was not because of any marketing campaign or PE stunt. This is part of the reason Bitcoin has a very strong community.

Now many people and businesses have accepted Bitcoin. In 2025 and 2026, many such businesses have accepted Bitcoin. The big American brand Steak n Shake has also accepted its meal burger with Bitcoin and Trump even bought it as an experiment. Many such people have made their business famous with Bitcoin and are making profit from it. Bitcoin has now become very famous and profitable, although some of the price has decreased due to the war. If it goes up, many more people and countries and businesses can start working with Bitcoin again. At this time, Bitcoin has become a business for many people. If Bitcoin goes away from the world for some time at this time, they will also suffer a lot of loss, which will be due to the accumulation of Bitcoin with them and secondly, the sale of their products with the help of Bitcoin will decrease.

Bitcoin real life adoption have some things to face as some form of limitations, which make it scalability of accessibility to be fit for Bitcoin real life adoption for payments on goods and services.

This limitations is the reason why stablecoins or fiat are most preferred choice for daily transactions, and most Bitcoin users only use o2p or even hold their Bitcoin as long term assets.

So the big question is , Making Bitcoin spendable in real world living how possible is it.

It's very much easy to figure out where so many lapses are, and also come up with a theoretical solution, but putting that solution into practice is often not as easy as it sounds especially when it doesn't take one person to make it work. You've just mentioned that adoption should start locally, but let's not forget that one person alone doesn't make up a locality.

This particular adoption of using Bitcoin via a p2p transaction has to be determined by collective decisions of individuals and not a single person. If a business or person does not want to accept a direct p2p payment in a locality, then a person who's willing to pay won't have anyone to pay to. There's literally nobody to fault here... People choose what to accept and what not to. But in all of this, the flexibility of being able to exchange Bitcoin for cash and cash for Bitcoin has literally made things a lot better, considering the fact that that's what the majority still accepts. And mind you, Bitcoin adoption on a wider scale has reached a decent level... So, it's not like we are behind or missing out of anything here.

Lightning network and I think that the exchanges can help with that. They've got those cards where someone who's got a balance on their platform can use it for purchases.

One of those balances can be bitcoin, I haven't used one yet but most of those that I've seen are holding stable coins.

You have the point about having the real use case that we can use for daily transactions like those groceries. But I think that we'll start to see more people holding it than spending it as its price increases soon.

Bitcoin adoption is still very slow, and the reason for that is because we prefer to hold it for the long term than using for our daily spending. Some people argue that volatility is the reason why they don't use Bitcoin for their daily transactions, because nobody wants to overpay or receive less value as expected due to price fluctuation, fair enough.

I thought the idea behind Bitcoin's creation was a clear peer to peer electronic system, that allows people to send and receive money without relying on Banks? So, are we graduating moving from one of Bitcoin's original purpose, or is this simply how adoption is supposed to evolve?

This is the kind of adoption OP wants to highlight in his topic. It is so widely used now that we can use bitcoin whenever we need to. However, we are still far from a situation where we can buy anything with bitcoin. But today there are thousands of shops and markets that accept bitcoin as a means of payment. It is recognized worldwide as an asset even in countries where its use is banned.

Am of the concern that regulations and taxes has more to do with the main reason why Bitcoin hasn't yet gotten to the stage of real world adoption because governments don't want Bitcoin to overshadow the use of the local fiat currency that is controlled and they want to control or keep tabs on everyone who uses Bitcoin and crypto currencies in general, because they claim money laundering, criminal activity and fraud is the major reason for the creation of Bitcoin, which isn't so.
So far with Bitcoin keep being a value of storage, it is quite hard to accomplish the task of it being a spendable currency. So until it is used for normal transactions it keeps being an experiment that is gaining ground but without a real world use case that isn't bounded by regulations and taxes just to make it controlled and inconvenient to use.

In my country, I think it is more important to legalize Bitcoin first and then you can buy things using Bitcoin. Bitcoin is not legal in my country. I want to buy things using Bitcoin but it will not be possible.
And isn't the popularity of Bitcoin increasing day by day? Think about how much Bitcoin's adoption was in the past and where it is now. People will prefer fiat currency over Bitcoin to buy and sell things because many have already mentioned that Bitcoin is not a stable currency.

So the big question is , Making Bitcoin spendable in real world living how possible is it.
Look at El Salvador, as far as I know, people in El Salvador can make purchases with Bitcoin.

Bitcoin can definitely be used by everyone, but it is still a long way off. You may notice that in the past Bitcoin was only available to a very few people, but now Bitcoin is available to almost everyone, some holding it, some transacting it, and people in almost every country in the world have information about it. Bitcoin transactions and holdings are enough to keep your money safe, so if you use Bitcoin for everyday use, it is definitely good for you. If other countries accept Bitcoin like El Salvador has, you will be able to buy Bitcoin everywhere.

Bitcoin adoption can't be complete without having real world use without any ambiguity that may come up .At this point we should be looking beyond just adoption of Bitcoin online to real world adoption which has been the missing Link all these times.
Is using bitcoin as a store of value not considered as bitcoin adoption? The fact that its already accepted in the market and its network has been used by many people, then that already shows that bitcoin adoption has gone a long way.

The problem here, we stick to the whitepaper made by Satoshi Nakamoto that bitcoin should be originally used as a payment system, but we forgot to analyze it clearly that simply investing in bitcoin is already a good sign of bitcoin adoption. People invest in bitcoin because they trust the system, those who spend their bitcoin, that's also their own initiative aside from investing on it.

As long as there is high volatility with bitcoin, you cannot expect that majority of the merchants will consider accepting bitcoin, except for those who are really enthusiasts with bitcoin and are also buying and holding it.

And who will dare to spend their bitcoin anyway when they can double or triple its profits just by holding it longer. I guess we'll leave it to the individuals if they would like to spend their bitcoin or just hold it longer while its value appreciates.

Making Bitcoin real spendable physically street by street has to do with the adoption of bitcoin of various countries government, Bitcoin is already as you expected it to be for those countries that have successfully accepted and adopted it, it can be used in their countries and their daily lives. Bitcoin is spreading very fast and wide in the globe but in terms of replacing fiat it's very difficult but very easy as an alternative which will always remains as a digital currency not a physical cash since that has being his aim for creation to control inflation.

Bitcoin allows you to be spendable daily in real world by using it's Bitcoin ATMs, crypto debits card for goods and services which automatically convert your Bitcoin into fiat, payment of bills, coss boarder payments which makes it very easy and others like your lightning network and direct merchant acceptance.

Fiat is not stable. If you are comparing it with other fiat in pairs, you will noticed that it is not stable, but bitcoin is more volatile. But I get your point, you are not wrong in what you are saying.
I mean it is stable in relation to that country. A store owner does not usually at the start of the day first check the prices of their goods to know if they should adjust them. With bitcoin there are regular changes which necessitates the use of a payment processor to constantly make adjustments.

With this examples you gave here I'm about to agree with you that Fiat is stable, it is True that Fiat doesn't change in value frequently unlike Bitcoin that changes it value almost every seconds. This was why many business owners  have chosen not to accept it as alternative means of payment because they knew that the value is not always stable, so in terms of business i personally would rather accept Fiat as the only means of payment or any other stable coin then when I'm saving I will use Bitcoin, because a person that accepts payment from Bitcoin is likely to run shortage in his business because you will need to buy new goods when the current ones finishes and suppose that the whole money was transferred via Bitcoin and it happens that the market is not in a good condition at the moment how are you going to do to get new goods? So this are the disadvantages of running a business with Bitcoin.

On the contrary of what people have mentioned as the problem facing bitcoin payment. Currently, the number of people who consider it an asset is way too high that its difficult to convince them that bitcoin is not just an asset but a real currency to be spent, now spending it makes them feel like they are losing something because bitcoin held can become higher in price over the years that alone has kept bitcoin as an asset than investment.

So Bitcoin has survived since 2009 without "Real World Adoption"

Its gone from Zero value to being valued at over $125,000

Bitcoin is open24/7/365 to anyone and everyone who wants to avail of it, that means
merchants are free to accept BTC for payment of their goods and services.

As Lucius points out below, there are mechanism's / services in place if anyone wants
to spend their Bitcoin indirectly and something I also have done in the past
and will likely do in the future.

~snip~
what is the essence of us having this type of revolutionary digital money without it been used in real sense, by this I mean that we using Bitcoin on the supermarket, market and buying things without any rigorous process. just a simple transaction between buyer and seller via Bitcoin, I know plenty people will be saying that Bitcoin was not ment for this as it's a digital money. But at this stage of Bitcoin this should be the next level that Bitcoin adoption should be heading to, the reason is that this will reshaped the history and future of Bitcoin.

Of course there are always exceptions, I occasionally use BTC as currency, but if I can't do it any other way I'll simply use one of the no-kyc crypto cards and make the payment that way.

The whole OP reads as a demand and something targeted at a board of management
who has control over a marketing budget in order to make bigger profits for themselves,
Bitcoin is above that, there is no central authority dictating matters.

Bitcoin adoption will grow organicallyas it has to date.
