Indonesia Super League 2026/2027 Prediction - Discussion

Indonesia Super League is the highest official competition running in Indonesia, this competition features 18 participating teams. The teams are Persija, Dewa United, Persita, Madura United, Bali United, Persebaya, Persik, Persib, Bhayangkara, Arema, Borneo, Java United, Garudayaksa, PSM, PSS, PSIM, Isenmulang & Persijap.

The competition has already seen 5 games take place, so we are indeed a bit late in creating this thread. However, that shouldn't stop us from continuing our discussion, right?

Let me start with Persib victory over Persik Kediri. Goal arrears from Júlio César managed to give 3 points for Bobotoh and now occupies the 5th position in the standings. It's still early and Persija is firmly at the top of the standings, for this season like the previous season I still make Persib Bandung as the champion favorite.

Which team is your favorite in the ISL this season?

Actually I very rarely follow the country's own domestic league competition even though there are some club developments that I always notice especially for Persib because they participate in the hype in the neighborhood (all almost support Persib) so I update about this club but for other clubs I rarely follow the game and more interested in domestic competitions in Europe

I used to be a connoisseur of the Liga 1 especially in the last 2 decades but after 2010 I stopped following the domestic league in Indonesia because I feel setbacks always happen so I prefer to be in the domestic league that is in Europe because the level of the game is much better.
But with this thread it seems that I will try to follow the development of the Liga 1 again especially with the interest of the national team now it seems to be looking for some players who have the potential that is quite good.

It turns out that I'm not the only one who rarely follows the country's own league. LoL
I used to be also a big fan of one of the local clubs above, after following the Europa League so my interest moved on.
The reason we are the same because I are used to watching European matches and the fast rhythm and quality of the game so that when watching the Indonesian league it becomes a bit slow and boring.

Persija has always been my favorite, our entire family are fans of this team. It has been a very long time since this team won the league title, the last time was in 2018. It’s good to see Persija leading the league standings right now, even if it’s only temporary.

But with this thread it seems that I will try to follow the development of the Liga 1 again especially with the interest of the national team now it seems to be looking for some players who have the potential that is quite good.

This forum has a huge number of users from Indonesia, wouldn't it be strange if we didn't have a single thread dedicated to our own league?

Which team is your favorite in the ISL this season?

I think Persib,  They are a team that has many stars with very good strength.  Entering the 5th week, I hardly ever watch the domestic league. The reason is surely something you already understand. But I know a few Indonesian teams that played in the ACL too, like Persib and Borneo FC, who performed in the AFC Challenge League. It seems that neither of them has been able to play well in the League, and their positions are outside the top 3. I thought Persib was a strong enough team to stay in the top 3, but currently they are in 5th place. I think given the condition of the players, Persija and Persib should be at the top of the table. But it seems that competition in Asia makes it a bit difficult for them to maintain their fitness.

Madura United may have a tough match against Persib, but to maintain their position in the standings but they are still have same points with Persib one lose mean losing their position, but i don't think Persib can win easily, because Madura United will playing all in. The betting markets also favor to Persib, but if you’re willing to take a risk on a draw or  Madura United win, the odds are very favorable at Stake.

I just realized that I got tagged lol. But honestly, I'm not really a soccer fan. I rarely follow it now, unless it's a really popular match/league, maybe I'd know one or two. But for the Indonesian league (as of now), I don't know anything about it, except for Persib who won last season (if I'm not mistaken), and that was only because the news went viral.

The last time I followed the Indonesian league was back in 2008 (lol I'm probably too old) when I watched the final between PSMS and Sriwijaya. After that, I didn't follow it anymore because of various internal PSSI issues, and my favorite team also fell apart after that.

Maybe I'll follow this league again later. But only if my team manages to get into Liga 1. If not, I'll probably just keep focusing on enjoying car racing

Precisely the existence of Persija at the top of the standings is very good, let Bobotoh spirit not to lose points in the next game. Against Madura United this weekend must be quite difficult because both teams have the same points so the match must be quite hot.
