50% is very delusional. Presently, less than 4%(measured data via transactions and exchanges accounts for 1.3%) of the world owns bitcoin, the less than 4% includes those who hold via exchanges and ETFS. If we go for those who actually own bitcoin via self-custody, then we should be seeing less than 1%. If up to 5% of the world owns bitcoin, the price will surge many times what we're seeing now. 50% of the world cannot even own crypto in 100 years from now and in that timeframe, we can only anticipate that around 7% of the world population have gotten bitcoin exposure whether directly or indirectly.
Anyone who wants to take bitcoin adoption seriously will do it regardless of the percentage of the world holding it, it is a personal conviction. Bitcoin has proven itself over and over again, those who get some for themselves has higher chances of achieving success in it in the near future.
When I look at the worlds estimated population, and comparing it with the total number of bitcoin available together with the percentage of worlds population holding bitcoin currently, I would say bitcoin is doing just great with its adoption. and if anyone think 10% of the worlds population is a small fraction or insignificant then they you have a rethink and compute the maths and get the numbers to see for them self. However, it’s never too late to belong in the bitcoin settings, and there is assurance that it will do grater in the future than it’s doing presently.

I discovered a fun fact, which is that 10% of the world's population currently own cryptocurrency which includes Bitcoiners as well. This should be interesting to beginners cause most of them might be worried about investing late but on seeing this they'll realise that they're still early and it's a big advantage.
If there are 10% of people holding cryptocurrency that means not all of them would be Bitcoiners, and also mean that with more adoption Bitcoin has the potential of doing greater numbers like 7 or 8 figures in the future. It's why people should take Bitcoin accumulation more seriously because the little you feel you've accumulated now could turn out to something greater when there's more adoption in future.
Imagine if the numbers increase to like 50 from 10%, everyone should take their Bitcoin accumulation seriously cause there's a brighter future when there's more adoption of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large.
How old is Bitcoin today that it has gone this far, imagine having this exact age in the future, how much could 1BTC cost? This is just a matter of time, if you can have some money that you are not using, and you are willing to invest the money for some years, you can buy Bitcoin and be patient for at least six years, you will see how your investment will maintain its value and how you will make profit from the investment. The stats cannot even be accurate because there are remote villages that have no internet access due to lack of development, imagine if these type of place have access to internet and also decide to adopt Bitcoin, we will have good demand under limited supply, the price will definitely go up in the future. We can use the DCA method to invest and hold patiently in a wallet we can control; it is not too late.

I don't know if you know, but currently, a large number of people within that 10% don't even hold their own key basically they keep their funds on exchanges. Real global adoption will only be possible when people properly understand self custody and network architecture.
Until the average person can manage their own wallet themselves just as they manage traditional banking apps this 50% target is not possible.

OP, can you give us a link to the data so that we can confirm it ourselves because there's no prove that 10% of people worldwide are into crypto. However, this is one of the reason why some persons are saying that we are still early in the cryptospace because the number of people that have bitcoin worldwide excluding ETFs is still very small. Keep accumulating more bitcoin with DCA.
I do not know if bitcoin EFT is part of what is used for the percentage estimation, but I know that OP is very correct. It was around less than 6% in 3 or 4 years ago, but it has increased to almost 10% in this present time. You can make findings about it online, it is all over online.

I don't know true the information is but doing a general surf search on Google shows that the figure isn't even up to that amount as it says it's roughly about 7-9% of the world population, which if its true, is a no suprise to me really because there are so many people that haven't even come across cryptocurrency and even those have come to know it, there is still a large portion in that number that are simply unbelievers and they still think bitcoin is an experience waiting to crumble.

I think advising people to take Bitcoin accumulation seriously because of its investment growth in the future will not take the Bitcoin holders from 10% to 50%, Bitcoin is not the only asset that has the potential of doing very well, in fact some people ar already so comfortable and relaxed with what they are already invested in. Before Bitcoin holders from 10% to 50% then Bitcoin would have to be seen for its functionalities and advantages over the traditional financial system not just another investment opportunity that you should not miss. Most of the people holding cryptocurrency, are also holding Bitcoin as their main long term assets, and few holding other altcoins as just a point to gamble with the market with. %10 is quite very low and in the future, when the cryptocurrency adoption gain more ground and utility demands increases a lot of those good potential cryptocurrency are really going to increase in their value. I like the advise because we gain more to take our accumulation of Bitcoin and the other potential cryptocurrency serious to be among those that will benefit when the percentage of adoption increases and reflecting on the value of those coins.

Do you know what figure 10% of the world population is? We have 8.3 billion people in the world which means that 10% will give about 830 million, is that a low figure to you? Even though OP said less than 10% which is correct but no matter the % of the world population that is holding cryptocurrency, it's still a large adoption if you ask me. Crypto adoption will of course increase but it is uncertain about the cryptocurrencies (exception of Bitcoin) that will be capable of a potential growth.

I discovered a fun fact, which is that 10% of the world's population currently own cryptocurrency which includes Bitcoiners as well.
Sharing a link to the fun fact would have been better, because that's the only way to back up a claim that's supposed to be a factual. So, according to what I found, the world population is around 8.3 Billion people according to worldometers[.]info, which means 10% of that should be around 830 Million people... That's a decent number if you ask me considering the fact that Cryptocurrency adoption and recognition is still growing, especially Bitcoin in particular. However, trying to imagine a 50% population adoption rate, is something I personally can not picture. Let's not forget that world's population is never constant... It keeps increasing, so a scenario in which half of the world's population eventually owns Bitcoin can not be guaranteed. We can only speculate.

There are many new investors who think about why they did not invest in Bitcoin in the first time and what will be the profit of investing now. For them, it is necessary to know that if only 10% of the world's population has invested in Bitcoin, then most of them are still out of investment. It is certainly a positive aspect that no matter what the price of Bitcoin is, if someone starts investing in Bitcoin, it is not a loss to invest at the current price. People are growing and people's interest in Bitcoin is increasing. As a result, those who will come after 5 years from now will also benefit, but if they invested in Bitcoin 5 years ago, the profit that was supposed to be made by Bitcoin will be high. The profit that will be made by investing that amount now is comparatively less and those who will come after the next few years will also benefit, but in that case, one thing must be taken into account properly, which is the long-term investment process.

I do not think 50% of the people in the world will own bitcoin, but there is nothing impossible about it in the future, although I do not think it will happen. I no know how OP come by this stats though, I go agree say the world population way Dey hodl Bitcoin as it is and not a whole Bitcoin o but, even the least sat cef never even reach half. Despite the fact say, over 95% of the available Bitcoin don Dey mined already. All that adds to Bitcoin scarcity via say, na only few people hodl am at this time and when it go Dey dawn on the population to find am, e go Dey extremely valuable. Time go come way be say, at least half the populace go need and get am. Maybe not in our era as the last Bitcoin would be mined in 2140, that’s like 114years from today and many of us no go see this time. Even if we see am cef, we fit no Dey reason well again. Still, it stresses on the importance of accumulating what you can and know that, the value Dey yet to surface. No time way don Dey too late.

I really doubt this claim, because that would mean over 800 million people currently own cryptocurrency. It is very unlikely that this is true, I would put it more realistic that it is around 1% which would be 80 million people. So we need to be skeptical when these grand claims are being made, because depending on how the data is gathered it is going to create a false picture. Probably this kind of survey was asked in a more crypto friendly place, and then they made some kind of weird estimates. If we ran a huge survey on a platform like Facebook we would probably get very different data. However, trying to imagine a 50% population adoption rate, is something I personally can not picture. Let's not forget that world's population is never constant... It keeps increasing, so a scenario in which half of the world's population eventually owns Bitcoin can not be guaranteed. Why would it be hard to imagine? Did people not adopt internet, smartphones, all kinds of digital devices? Many of those devices were unnecessary but were adopted for many reasons. Bitcoin has a very good reason to be adopted, and it gets proven true and true as time passes because the world is not in a good place. So what exactly is it hard to imagine?

10% of people own bitcoin in the world, that statistics can never be accurate because bitcoin is decentralized and one person can own bitcoin in different wallets and statistics like this will only rely on numbers of wallets per person and not number of people per all of their wallets combined as one entity. We may not even be up to 10% of the world yet that holds Bitcoin because of how hard the statistics can be accurate and the tool they only have access to determine that. Let people with the knowledge of bitcoin invest in this asset for the future but not in anticipation of it growing with this statistics anticipated growth of the asset. But let them invest as a free will investment that is hoping for a bigger benefit in the future and not having a predicted anticipated price for this in the future because of this statistics.

Knowing how many people in the world and their categories will do better justice to this 10% because it seem like this 10% is really small to some of us. Not knowing that there are unhealthy, poor and vulnerable people who can not access much on the internet having a high population hence I believe this 10% is a good improvement and will be better as time goes on. And luck is you who is part of it.

I'm still trying to figure out where I mentioned that Bitcoin has not been adopted. Afaik, it has reached a decent adoption level, and still growing. The OP's discussion has to do with the possibility of 50% of the world's population owning Bitcoin, and I still stand by what I've said. A mere comparison with how the internet, smartphone, etc were adopted isn't enough fact to back the claim. Even you yourself couldn't agree to the Ops claim that 10% of the world population currently owns cryptocurrency in general, so how do you picture a 50% world population owning Bitcoin when the world population is not a constant figure and you can't even tell what the world will look like in the next two decades?. Just like other replies in this same thread, it's just my own belief. The most important thing is, Bitcoin will always grow at its own pace. I really doubt this claim, because that would mean over 800 million people currently own cryptocurrency. It is very unlikely that this is true, I would put it more realistic that it is around 1% which would be 80 million people.

Consider yourself late to investment in Bitcoin so that you can put yourself under the necessary pressure to ensure that you're aggressive with your investment Because if you consider yourself to be still early that might encourage you to be more relaxed about investment and accumulating at a slower pace than you can normally do if you are under the pressure that you are late to investment and should try to accumulate enough to be able to benefit from the next bull run. Invest like say you dey really late to investing, so you go take am seriously.

Where I think it's also worth including into this discussion is that there are a lot of people out there who own Bitcoins, but don't necessarily understand what they're holding. There are those who invest into Bitcoin after seeing people hyping it and sell off when it start to crashes, and there are those who are patient to learn it and take their time to accumulate it gradually.
Another thing is that you don't have to race against other people or even try to get a lot of Bitcoins at once. Everyone's financial position is different, so it comes down to spending money that you don't need for your everyday expenses after taking care of your important needs and growing your assets at a rate that you can handle.

We are still expecting for broader adoption, which we have been seeing a massive turn out in Bitcoin adoption rate and this is impressive already, you can go through the statistics to know how the adoption rate is fast increasing over the years and things have been better than ever before because the more people are getting to know about the opportunity with Bitcoin, the higher the adoption rate continues to increase. The same can be seen in its market capitalization.

I may have interpreted this particular statement wrong. To own cryptocurrency means to have the permission to keep, spend, and transfer a certain cryptocurrency whenever you like. A lot of people bought crypto without having ownership of it. There is an important distinction between buying cryptocurrency and owning it. That reduces the number to 5% because most folks use exchanges to keep their crypto. Meaning few own cryptocurrencies, but more people manage to buy crypto. And from your definition only those with bitcoin in their noncustodial wallet are actually bitcoin owners, is that what you mean? That is one way to look at it though I believe that stat OP mentioned included everyone who owns in their own wallet or in exchanges and probably even people who have owned crypto currency because there are people who've owned in the past but don't have any crypto currency to their name right now, I'm just speculating though because I'm not really sure, there is no link to confirm it with.

If 10% of global population already own ceyptocurrency, that is a very high number given that cryptocurrency is relatively new among the other forms of money. If you compare cryptocurrency to gold in terms of ownership, you will understand that the acceptability of cryptocurrency is very high especially among the younger generations. Imagine when Bitcoin achieves mainstream adoption, the penetrative level will surpass 50% of global population and the price will sbe astronomical.

If you notice, I stated that it would be more interesting to beginners, it's mustn't interest you dear cause maybe you're not new to crypto/Bitcoin but there are many that would find it interesting and use it to encourage themselves to do better in their accumulation and holding process.
Do better in which aspect if a may ask? If I accumulate more bitcoins now will it add to the population of people that are holding it? It will only mean that i have accumulated more bitcoins. What am saying is that the number of people who are holding bitcoin globally is not the reason why we said that Bitcoin is in its early stages. It is never late for a beginner who wants to invest and might be thinking that the price is too high but you also have to understand that it is not only beginners that do think that they are late. An investor who owns bitcoins already can still feel that it is too late to invest more Bitcoins so your advice is not only applicable to a beginner.
