As far as human beings are concerned, earning more is what comes to mind. You can't give 1 BTC, talk less of 0.1 to someone and you expect them to retire with it without longing to earn more than that as years gone by.

Bitcoin being a volatile asset, we can't say what its price will be like in the next 30 years you projected. Whatever the price may be, 0.1 BTC will not be what will retire someone in 30 years time. You have to think of the global economy at that time, whether inflation will be worse than this

What about you? Do you think that whatever the value of 0.1BTC is in the next 30 years will suit you enough to feel like yes you are really retired with this amount of Bitcoin.

This will only be enough in the future if inflation stops which is not possible to happen. The bitcoin market will continue to grow in value but with how fast inflation is also growing, you may only feel not satisfied as the same person who will feel it is not enough to have it now at this age in time.

As bitcoin grows bigger, I also think that we will continue to aim higher and this will affect how we see these prices in the future. Maybe inflation may not have hit so bad but when our taste is bigger, we cannot just condone with any price again, it has to also satisfy our wants.

What will global inflation have on bitcoin? Global inflation or inflation affecting your country will mostly have effect on the fiat that you are having.

As global inflation can have negative effect on bitcoin, it can also be in the other way by having positive effect as people are looking for good assets to hedge against the inflation.

I know the side effects that can come from high interest rate and the rising costs, but there is possibility that the price of bitcoin will increase.

30 years is a far future, and 0.1 could be worth ten times than today, but here's the question. Do you think you can live longer after that? I think the average life span of a human in this modern generation is at 70yrs, considering that your lifestyle is clean and not sedentary.
Nobody knows whether 0.1 will be worth investing in the next 30 years or will it be enough when you retire, but it's always a better plan to be responsible with your finances at this early. Diversify your investment, get good insurances and aim to retire earlier than 30 yrs, that's the only way I think you can determine whether the 0.1 is enough for your retirement, because if not, at least you have other investments that'll help your expenses.

Also, those financial advisors in the social media today are mostly BS, lol.

Concerning the inflation and the price of it at that time, I think that it's more than enough to have that. It's going to be the new 1 unit at that time if that happens. But as satoshi said, that there could be big or no volume at all by the next coming years. We're already into it and if that is the goal, I think that for 30 years it's going to be a long wait for that kind of retirement. Someone has to sell maybe 10% of that total holdings for them to at least have something to buy and make it shown into tangible things that they've made profit out of it.

I am still optimistic about Bitcoin, 0.1 BTC is enough for retirement or in the next 30 years, I really believe that bitcoin will reach a price of millions of dollars in the next 30 years, just like in the past no one thought bitcoin could reach a price of $ 100k, the reason I think so is because bitcoin will continue to grow and will be adopted more widely to boost widespread purchases

Depending on the age I start holding, because at my current age adding another 30 years from now making me above 70 years, going to 80 years, which for me is far beyond my retirement target already.

I don't know why, but with my current Bitcoin holding trend and momentum, I am sure that I will accumulate way more than 10 bitcoins before I stop and hold for life and start eating from the profits.

What about you? Do you think that whatever the value of 0.1BTC is in the next 30 years will suit you enough to feel like yes you are really retired with this amount of Bitcoin.

See how much you can spend depends on how much you spend, there are many wealthy people who spend 0.1 BTC a week. But if you can take this forward into the future, then you can definitely earn a lot of money from this Bitcoin and sometimes you can buy Bitcoin and add it to this main holding. If you follow this strategy, you will definitely be successful later, people hold Bitcoin after retirement and accumulate this Bitcoin during their working life.
So you can choose one of the methods here and it may be better for you to hold Bitcoin for a long time, because you can benefit greatly from this Bitcoin and later it will be possible to eliminate financial shortages.

In some countries, maybe 0.1 Bitcoin will be enough for you to live like a king or at least if you sustained you and your family. But for me, I don't like to set specific number of how much I wanted to save and accumulate Bitcoin.

And as I have said on previous threads, it doesn't matter, as long as you are doing it the right now and accumulating and looking for the bigger picture. Then for sure you will be good and don't need to go to be a members of this so called 1 Bitcoin or 0.1 Bitcoin club.

The biggest problem is that one just thinks of a savings goal rather than a retirement plan. To begin with, it's an advantageous amount to have in your possession, but that doesn't mean if it's enough or not in the future. We also need to take into account inflation, cost of living and time duration. A cheaper country might not require the same amount as a pricey city, but they both can't get by on the predictions of prices. I'm willing to consider holding 0.1 BTC as a part of my retirement plan, rather than a assurance of financial freedom.

The way Bitcoin's value has increased and the plans we are making for it in the future and the predictions we can see for its value, if someone collects 0.1 BTC, then it will definitely be possible to spend their leisure time. When the value of Bitcoin enters $1 million, then the value of 0.1 BTC will be much higher and people will be able to spend their leisure time with this money. However, if they spend on unnecessary things and extras, it will never be possible, but if they do the necessary things correctly, then it will be possible to spend a person's leisure time with this amount of money. We know that the future of Bitcoin is very good, in that case, if someone is currently working and can collect 0.1 Bitcoin, then that person will definitely be able to enjoy them in their leisure time without any problems.

There are so many videos online encouraging people to get 0.1 BTC, that it's all they will ever need to get retired, is this even real?

Here are my own questions about this.

1) can 0.1BTC get you retired in 30 years to this time for real? Wouldn't that put 0.1BTC at a $1 million?
2) in this world economy now, isn't 0.1BTC something that a 86years old would appreciate as retirement plan than someone in their 30s?
3) the value of 1 BTC will have to be over millions of dollars for 0.1BTC to be meaningful.

Are people just making a big deal out of this 0.1BTC target?
What about you? Do you think that whatever the value of 0.1BTC is in the next 30 years will suit you enough to feel like yes you are really retired with this amount of Bitcoin.
Those who encourage you to do so are right, but how you go about getting to the 1BTC holding level is an important issue. If you sell all your assets and invest in Bitcoin, it is not reasonable. You need to maintain a good financial position and accumulate Bitcoin for the future. If your target is 1BTC, that is also correct, but it must be within a financially tolerable level. This means that my advice would be to accumulate Bitcoin regularly through discretionary income.

It is not certain what level the price of Bitcoin will reach in the future. Use the amount of funds that is convenient for you without putting pressure on the fund.

Suppose you have a target of accumulation 1BTC Bitcoin in the next 10 years, you will have to accumulate Bitcoin regularly through discretionary income. If the price of Bitcoin is at the current price at that time, you will probably be in a profitable position. This is because you will be buying Bitcoin regularly during price fluctuations and the average price may remain relatively low.

Although, according to the way Bitcoin is traded in the world, your dream have been to get enough Bitcoin, while you only dreamed of $8,000 at today's price. If I were dreaming about Bitcoin, I would think of 10 Bitcoin, which is enough for me, and to achieve this, I would do DCA and put as much of my income into it. Getting 0.1 BTC is not very difficult. If the price remains the same for 2 months, you can collect $500 every week and it can go up to $4,000 in 2 months. And if you reduce it a little and increase the number of months, you can fulfill the dream of 0.1 BTC for 6 to 8 months. The more you reduce your DCA value, the more time it will take and as the price increases, you will have to collect $10,000 instead of $8,000.

I believe the problem is that it's taken the approach of thinking about a future price target for Bitcoin rather than a retirement plan. That is not to say that we can tell from the value of 0.1 BTC how many years it will last a person's expenses. The amount of retirement income that can be withdrawn without substantial depletion of retirement assets depends on how much income is needed to maintain a standard of living, inflation rates. And the cost of health care. You can't predict that Bitcoin will hit a certain price with surety. And the person living in a low cost country would require less than a person in a higher cost city. A goal of 0.1 BTC can help to encourage saving. But not take the place of a sensible retirement plan.

Are people just making a big deal out of this 0.1BTC target?
What about you? Do you think that whatever the value of 0.1BTC is in the next 30 years will suit you enough to feel like yes you are really retired with this amount of Bitcoin.

For every investment you would have people making exaggerating claims about it and we can probably put this particular statement at that level too.

While in most cases 0.1BTC is not a big amount of money but I will boldly say that it depends on the country or society that the person finds himself. 0.1BTC in today’s market price is around $8k now in the next 30 years, I will place say the realistic market price would be something around 10x from today due to volatility and that brings us to $80k. With this amount I can tell you for a fact that many retired workers do not get pension benefits up to half of this amount even if they work for that same number of years.

So looking at it from this angle an average person with 0.1btc in a developing country can safely retire from work with that amount if held in 30 years

Owning 0.1BTC today, and holding it in the next 30 years can actually yield a significant amount of money, some persons might see it as something not enough for them, but one can comfortably take care of himself, and family with this amount of money. However, money is not meant to be dormant at any moment to enable sustainability. If in the next 30 years you are able to see such money in your hand, part of this money still need to be reinvested somewhere while you take care of yourself. Something that will still be generating income for you and you can do that through the help of your children or a trusted person.

I don't think 0.1 Bitcoin will be enough for future retirement because the price of all things will increase over time, so 0.1 Bitcoin is not enough for future holding. But if someone can hold that amount of Bitcoin, then 30 years from now it will be a big amount. But right now holding 0.1 Bitcoin is not very difficult, but if someone wants to buy 0.1 Bitcoin after 30 years, then it will definitely be very, very difficult for him. So I think it is most appropriate to take the decision that should be taken right now. Because buying and holding Bitcoin in the future will become very, very tough.

I am hearing this for the first time, what's special with 0.1BTC?

What will happen to retiring with 0.5btc, 1BTC, 1.5btc at least, I don't find any meaningful measures in keeping that amount to secure the future, there was a time that amount seems big and promising but not anymore. I won't and can't stand to only chase to keep that amount of Bitcoin as my final retirement, that would be a risky and dead game.

Are people just making a big deal out of this 0.1BTC target?
What about you? Do you think that whatever the value of 0.1BTC is in the next 30 years will suit you enough to feel like yes you are really retired with this amount of Bitcoin.
Yes. People are just making a big deal out of this target.
We all have different targets when it comes to Bitcoin holdings. Some might not have any at all. Some might have even more than 0.1 BTC.

For the last question, I'll give a scenario:
Let's say that 1 Bitcoin went to as high as $1M each 30 years. 0.1 BTC during that time will be around $100,000. I'm at my 30's currently, and after 30 years, I will be around 60. With my current monthly expenses, I believe that $100,000 is enough for me to cover my monthly expenses for the next 20 years, so basically it's enough.

Now my scenario will be different depending on some factors like our lifestyle, monthly expenses, where we are living and many more. I'm just saying that 0.1 BTC might be enough for me.

There are so many videos online encouraging people to get 0.1 BTC, that it's all they will ever need to get retired, is this even real?
~snip~

Don't you know what the goal of most of these videos is? By telling you that 0.1 BTC is enough for your retirement one day, they want to sell you something or promote an idea that someone paid them to do. I understand that many people watch everything and anything online these days, but just because a video exists doesn't mean you should believe what's in it.

My opinion is that 0.1 BTC in xx years may be worth more than today in some fiat currency, but also inflation will make the purchasing power of that money significantly less than today. There's nothing wrong with investing in BTC and saving it for retirement, but you can't be sure it will pay off in the way some are telling you today.

I think people may be putting too much emphasis on the 0.1 BTC target. Bitcoin has potential, but nobody can predict its value 30 years from now with certainty. For me, retirement is about financial security, peace of mind, and having enough resources to live comfortably. 0.1 BTC could become valuable, but whether it will be enough depends on future prices, inflation, and personal expenses. It’s wise to have realistic expectations and not rely on Bitcoin alone for retirement.
