There are so many videos online encouraging people to get 0.1 BTC, that it's all they will ever need to get retired, is this even real?
Here are my own questions about this.
1) can 0.1BTC get you retired in 30 years to this time for real? Wouldn't that put 0.1BTC at a $1 million? 2) in this world economy now, isn't 0.1BTC something that a 86years old would appreciate as retirement plan than someone in their 30s? 3) the value of 1 BTC will have to be over millions of dollars for 0.1BTC to be meaningful.
Are people just making a big deal out of this 0.1BTC target? What about you? Do you think that whatever the value of 0.1BTC is in the next 30 years will suit you enough to feel like yes you are really retired with this amount of Bitcoin.
Folks should stop making it sound like there's guarantee that you will get rich from investing in bitcoin. Bitcoin is a pretty investment I won't deny that , but doesn't mean that there's any guarantee that it will continue to go up . Base on historical data bitcoin tend to increase in price over time as it's gain more adoption . So, don't invest in bitcoin like is some kind of get rich or gambling scheme . Try to be more professional with your bitcoin investment and silence irrelevant noise. Buy with only your discretionary income (money you can afford to lose). Be patient with your investment, we don't know what the future has for us , hopefully is something beneficial to us all .

I never listen to such advice. Set a goal that your financial situation allows you to set. It may not be the right decision to retire in any country with 0.1 BTC. We cannot say where the value of BTC will be in 30 years, but even if 0.1 BTC is worth $1 million, it will still not be enough. Because due to inflation, even $1 million may not be much money.
For now, my goal is to accumulate 1 BTC. However, if the market starts growing rapidly, it may be difficult to achieve that goal. But I will definitely keep running after this goal with my best efforts.

0.1 BTC is more achievable than 1 BTC but, anyone who will go for 1 BTC will still have to go through 0.1 BTC and that means that you're able to reach someone's goal and you're doing even better. And that's good for you, so for me, as you've said then do what your pocket allows you to do and don't hurry with it because not everyone is able to get that much extra to invest in Bitcoin or even not an extra but a salary that's enough to cover all of it. While everyone's economy is different, any amount will do and as long as you did the initiative then I think that anyone who does that is way better than of those people who are not taking any actions to accumulate for their retirement or for any reason.

People have different prices they believe that Bitcoin would reach in the future so probably it was because of the future they think that with 0.1 BTC they would have a lot of money that would be enough to give them everything they want, actually converting this amount to dollar should give us around 8k dollars and definitely it wouldn't be enough for someone to invest and expect a massive turnout in profits, just like you estimated it will definitely take many years depending if the Bitcoin price will even rise as expected before this amount would worth something encouraging for them.

To be honest, this is like planning ahead of ourselves with the hope that 1 Bitcoin would get to at least 2 million dollars before 0.1btc could be meaningful otherwise, I do not see anything out of that value you made mentioned in BTC . Realistically, people are just overreacting or ever estimating the 0.1 BTC, although it's worth holding but at least through DCA one could keep doubling it gradually till it passes that range, but only relying on 0.1btc for retirement may not yield anything meaningful except for the next 40 years to come, only then we can say that Bitcoin could worth nearly 10 million dollar or above. And if that happens, 0.1btc could be around 1 million dollars, if you also considering the inflation rate you will see that by then the 0.1btc may not worth anything tangible and it also depends on the country we reside to know if that would be useful or not.

I worked out 1 million pension is feasible long term via compounding and a regular contribution especially at the start. With tax benefits and low costs it can amount to alot. The problem is also long term the effect of inflation will make 1 million equivalent in value to more like 200k after many decades, so its not the fortune you imagine due to degradation of the currency value.
So for the BTC dream of a fixed amount, I would concentrate on the working capital not purely just a fixed rigid nominal figure even in BTC

Ah, I love this dream! I even hope to get more Bitcoin, much more, in fact! Hahaha. Actually, I want more than it, more and more. I want more than 1BTC.
Actually, it’s definitely achievable if we put in the work and persevere. For some, it might be quite easy; for others, it may seem difficult but still within reach. and for some, it might appear too hard to ever realize. So, which path will it be for us?
Everyone has their own personal standard for what it means to be "rich" or to have "enough." Some might be perfectly content with 0.1 BTC. While others might feel that’s not enough and aim for more. Of course, our desires will dictate the level of effort and capital required. So, just make sure to align your goals with your actual efforts and how you manage your funds.

Nah, I'd go a step further. Bitcoin is a very good investment, if not the best one out there, given how much upside it has. That said, you are right. At the end of the day, Bitcoin is like any other asset or investment. Nothing is guaranteed. Past performance is no guarantee of future result, and we should not get too hung up on the past and assume Bitcoin will follow the same path in the future. Keep stacking BTC with your discretionary income, but don't turn a stacking goal into a promise of getting rich. Owning 0.1 BTC can be a good target, but whether it'll be enough to retire on still depends on BTC's future price and each person's financial needs.

1) can 0.1BTC get you retired in 30 years to this time for real? Wouldn't that put 0.1BTC at a $1 million?
No, not really as a standalone retirement plan. The price of 0.1 BTC is approximately $8k at the current BTC price of $81k. For 0.1 BTC to be worth $1M in 30 years, 1 BTC would need to reach about $10M. That's ~120x from here or ~17% per year, annually over 30 years and would make the whole network worth ~$200T, many times the value of all the gold mined. It’s not impossible on paper but it’s a tough bet for a retirement. Even if it happens, $1M in 2056 isn’t today’s $1M. If the inflation rate is 3% then it's closer to ~$410k in today's money. A good investment but not a never work again investment in most places. 2) in this world economy now, isn't 0.1BTC something that a 86years old would appreciate as retirement plan than someone in their 30s?
On #2, I'd say that is the other way around. An 86 year old may not have the luxury to wait out a 70% drawdown, as BTC has experienced on more than one occasion and it is still ~35% off of its ATH from last year at ~$126k, but someone in their 30s can do that and continue stacking. Are people just making a big deal out of this 0.1BTC target? What about you? Do you think that whatever the value of 0.1BTC is in the next 30 years will suit you enough to feel like yes you are really retired with this amount of Bitcoin.
I believe 0.1 BTC was popular as it was a round number, a number that it is possible to do, and it can get people started. Fine. It gets dubious when videos promise it’s all you’ll ever need because nobody knows what BTC will be worth in 2056. Enough for me? Nope. I would regard it as a seed and continue to add.

0.1 bitcoin isn’t that much. I’m sure more than one regular in this section, such as the WO thread, has been a bit puzzled by the figure. That’s $8,000. If you’ve been doing this for a while and don’t live in a very poor country, it should be achievable – if you haven’t already reached that figure.
Those questions don’t make much sense because you’re not taking inflation into account, as others have pointed out. If you have 0.1 bitcoin in 30 years’ time and a bitcoin is worth a million, it’ll be as if you had $10,000 today, or something like that. Are people just making a big deal out of this 0.1BTC target?
The figure has been falling. The first figure I heard that people were aiming for was 21 bitcoins. Then it was 1 bitcoin, and about three years ago people started talking about 0.1 bitcoin, particularly influencers and the like. But back then, a supercycle was expected that would have taken us to half a million dollars or more. If bitcoin continues to grow at the rate it has over the last few years, and taking inflation into account, having 0.1 bitcoin will obviously be better than having nothing, but it’s nowhere near enough to allow you to retire.

I don't know why the target has to be 0.1 BTC, isn't the target supposed to be higher when you want to retire? Especially when we're preparing for the next 30 years, that 0.1 BTC is not enough for us to retire, even if it goes up several times, it might only be around tens of thousands of dollars. When you factor in inflation, that amount is not enough at all. But if the goal is to preserve wealth, then it makes sense. If you keep your savings in fiat for the next 30 years, their purchasing power will be eroded by inflation over time. That's why holding some Bitcoin as a long-term store of value could be a reasonable strategy to preserve wealth, not as a retirement goal.

There are so many videos online encouraging people to get 0.1 BTC, that it's all they will ever need to get retired, is this even real?
In a poor country, it might be sufficient, provided one maintains a standard lifestyle, depending also on the age at which one chooses to retire. I recall a discussion elsewhere that challenged members to post the cost of a single meal containing adequate nutrition; many of these meals cost less than $2, meaning it would only take about $5 per day to cover the essential needs of an elderly couple. If 0.1 bitcoin is equivalent to $20k, that would be enough to last at least a decade. $5 a day for two people is a bit unrealistic - regardless of where you live. Sure, maybe you can survive on plain rice and dry beans in some rural village for two bucks a meal, but life is more than that. What about medical care? Electricity? Cooking gas? Rent? Or the fact that as you get older, your body falls apart and you need all kinds of aids just to survive. And also, to give yourself only 10 years for retirement is foolhardy. The worlds average retirement age is between 60 and 65. If you still have some good health left, you could possibly work until 70 - leaving you only a little over 80 to have enough for your food. And what then? Not such a good plan. That said, I believe your projection of only $20k for 0.1 btc in 30 years is a massive underestimate. Even so, 0.1 btc is unlikely to be enough for someones retirement if they have no other sources of income.

Today's value of 0.1 Bitcoin is $8,050. This amount will not be enough for my retirement. If Bitcoin gets to $ 1 million, 0.1 BTC might be worth $100k. With this amount, my retirement would be free of financial problems since it is a large sum in my country. The drive on social media for people to own 0.1BTC might be a motivational strategy to encourage people to buy Bitcoin. Some of the proponents of this drive believe that the price of Bitcoin would skyrocket in the future.
