Right now, even lower odds are even harder to win. You go for higher odds, you lose, you still go for lower odds, you still lose, same thing with winning, so I’d rather take my chances with the higher odds. Personally, I like going for the 2 odds because at least I’m sure my money would be doubled if my predictions are correct, because I don’t like parlays, I’d rather just pick a single game and place a high stake on it.

Is this somekind of a joke? How can odds make you a profitable gambler in the long run? Aren't odds the calculation on how much you can really make from a game?

Gamblers go for high odds because of larger amounts of money but higher odds also most of the times means it will be difficult to play out your way, weak teams have the highest odds because the chances of them winning is very low.

Betting odds won't make you profitable as a gambler on the long run, they don't determine how a game or match will play out,  stay in the prediction lane mate, no one has any power to predict any games.

I preferred choosing odds higher to 2.0 for a single bet and at least 1.5 for a parlay/combo bet.

Odds face value alone are not the basis of being profitable. It’s the specific bet option you are betting is what makes it profitable in the long run.

So you can always choose high odds and still win frequently if you will choose a value bet only.

I think it's rare to see both sides offered at 2.00 odds, otherwise the bookie would not make any juice from that. Normally, when they offer odds, they adjust the odds on both sides to maintain their margin. Because based on my observation, I haven't seen that kind of odds in my years of betting.

One thing you should understand is that the odds that you pick is not what will make you profitable in the long run because it's rare to see someone that will be profitable in the long run with gambling because it's a game of luck and not a game of odds.

Those odds are there to tell you how much you profit you will make if you choose that club and to also let you know who is the favourite to win the game but not all the time. Some odds are best to be left alone instead, of betting on a team which such low odds like 1.1 or 1.2 because your profit will be very small. I make my game analysis before betting on a particular team.
Yes that’s kind of true, odd  that you choose to bet on will not be what makes you profitable. If you bet consistently on 5 odds and you maintain a good winning rate you will definitely be profitable, like wise you can be betting on 1.2 odd with a bad winning rate and still end up losing without making any profit. So being a profitable in betting has more to do with winning consistently and not just about odd you’re betting on alone. Odds can influence your profitability though because higher odds would definitely result in higher returns, but it also means higher risk as the chances are gonna be slim.

I’ve seen people tried to do 1.5 odd roll overs for 15 days and most of them get stuck on the way, there hasn’t been any one I’ve seen successfully did the 1.5 odd rollovers for 15days successfully. That’s just to show how difficult it’s to maintain winning streak even with a small odd.

If we were to choose one set of odds to maintain when we are betting. We have like 1.75, 1.90, or 2.10. Which of these do you think will make you profitable in the long run. Regardless of what sport you are betting on.

Share based on your experience not what you read in books, as theory is not always applicable in actual betting if you believe that.

I'm asking this question because higher odds offer better payouts but are harder to win consistently while lower odds require more wins to remain profitable.

Need some real life experience here.

I believe none and despite me having many years of betting experience no longer than yesterday I did some tests. I played a lot of double game tickets, just 2 games per ticket with each ticket containing 2 games of the same odds, I started with 1.20 in the first ticket up to 2.50. So I tried, 1.20, 1.30 and so on until 2.50 and the end result all tickets lost. I would say based on this to not lose time thinking that any odd can make you profitable in the long run, I am being a bit harsh but this is reality.

I’ve long used odds of 2.0 as a benchmark for myself, as I see I can make a profit over the long run. But I don’t focus exclusively on odds of exactly 2.0. The odds could be 1.9, 2.0 or 2.3, sometimes I’ll even go higher if I’m confident in my bet. But I try not to go too far below that range.

It all depends on your own statistics. If you gamble, keep track of your results and see how your wins and losses balance out over time. If you win more often than you lose over the long run, odds around 2.0 can help you stay profitable.

Bro, what I am about to say is no speculation, but real life experience. By the grace of God I have been in the gaming system for quite for sometimes now and all I know is that no actual odd can guaranteed us winning on a long run. As a matter of fact I have tried various odds on different occasions and none seems to be giving me what I want. Because at the end of the day I still depends on luck to secure my winning.

However, several times I have used something like 1 odd, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 etc. I have even risk using up to 4 odds, pick some few games I thought is sure, put something heavy and at the end of the day all to null and vain. Therefore, I strongly believe that even though most times things go a bit in our favour, luck still remains one of the most important factor that earned us our expected outcome in our games and that's it.

Odds are just probability, or a bookmaker's calculation of probability... And they show how much money we can win with our stake if we are right. Simply picking specific odds will not magically make someone profitable, because no matter how nice the odds look on paper, it doesn't mean much if the analysis is wrong and the bet misses.

I guess we all win & lose all the time... I favor lower odds & parlays, and I can say it's pretty hard to win consistently. A bad streak will come at some point, and we shouldn't believe anyone has "the winning strategy" that can protect us from losing streaks and guarantee profits in the long run.

First of all, the odds you cited are practically indistinguishable,,,

Try to look at the big picture and you will understand. I'm talking about real experience here and trying to hear from bettors who are consistently betting, and you point about 7.00 odds, no bettor would consistently bet on that kind of odds as it's just suicidal.
~

What made you think I don’t have any real experience? I place bets every week, hundreds of bets a year, you can check my topics and posts - I often publish the bets I made. You're wrong about betting with high odds, even on this forum there are examples where, over the course of several years, bettor posted his bets with odds of around 10x and ended up with a profit.
The table you provided is just garbage. If you seriously think that such "knowledge" will somehow help you win over the long term, then you are mistaken.

x1.75. But if you can go a little lower, to x1.50-x1.65, that would be much better.

Based on experience, I don't trust anything that goes above x1.95. It's difficult to win those odds unless you see a really good opportunity and take advantage of the spreads because you are so sure that the team/player you will bet on will win. That's why I didn't pick x1.90, too.
In the past, I had this good streak of winning 2 of 3 of my bets, and when I tried to check them again, most of them were because they were below x1.80. You add spreads, even just one point, and you lose it. That type of win.

All the odds are profitable as long as they are not below 1.5.
High rollers will take advantage of the odds listed if they reason they chance of winning is above 80%.
We should be talking about which odds will be more profitable. In regard to profitability, the 2.10 is basically a profit double of the amount staked.

The answer is right there with you, no hard to see. If you want to be profitable in betting, your aim will be to bet in such a way that one of your wins should be able to cover two losses and still leave something for you as profit. From the examples you have given, only ofd of 2.10 satisfies this condition so that is the odd I'll go for. One winning can cover two losses and I will still be 10% up in profits whicb is something appreciable.

Every gambler gambles using their own research strategy, some prefer to bet using high odds while others prefer to bet using low odds.
It is never possible for anyone to consistently make money through gambling, we do not choose low odds or high odds by gambling, it cannot be said for sure that we will make money. Since there is more chance of loss than win through gambling, so if my guess is correct then I will make more profit, that is why I choose 2.10 odds, if luck is good, the profit will be doubled, I do not bet more,  I feel more comfortable betting within my means in one game.

You're absolutely correct, right football has changed and not like before when bookmakers gave odds to club like Real Madrid and they must win the match. Back then i used to study odds given by bookmakers but it's seems not to work, playing a particular odds doesn't guarantee making profits from gambling. I came across a club that was given 22 odds won 1.20 now imagine people who capitalise on 1.20 will definitely lose such bet, some times i reasons if bookmakers uses this odds to distract gamblers.

I'm asking this question because higher odds offer better payouts but are harder to win consistently while lower odds require more wins to remain profitable.

Need some real life experience here.

Most probably its not all about the odds you are using. But rather on how you execute your plans, including their exit route when its good time to quit.

Because those possible winnings gotten from the odds you used, then also the luck you experience will be useless. If you eaten up by your greed, then you chase more wins. That situation will put you in big risk and your profitable time might turn into huge waste.

So aside about thinking about using the right odds, pay attention also on other things that can possibly secure your gains.

Me I usually go for lower odds because it's likely to win than the bigger odds, even if I'm given a game ,I personally reduce the odd so I can get a higher chances of winning , big odd is good too but hardly to win , because if you add small money to it, your potential win will be very big ,it's really risky anyway ,I know gambling itself is risky but I tried as much as possible to take the calcative risk ,even if it doesn't favour at last ,so I'm a big fun of smaller odds.

Odds do not always guarantee profit. Profit cannot be determined by looking at the odds alone. You have to win about 57% or more of the bet at 1.75 odds, 52% at 1.90 and 47.62% at 2.10 to at least break even in the long run. Nothing is completely safe in gambling, strategy depends more on luck. If you are lucky, you can keep profit at any odds, and if you are not lucky, no matter how big the odds are, you will not be able to keep profit because if you win 1 bet, you will lose many bets later.

Actually, quite the opposite.
I don't know how many times I must say it, especially on a gambling board, but no real gambler or tipster chases 1.75 or 1.90 odds.

Odds are irrelevant!
The value in odds is what matters, and this is what every tipster considers
You see a favorite at 1.5 there is no value in it you see one that could palce second and it's valued at extremly high odds coamped to what you think, then 20:1 becomes a value bet.

Here is one example of someone who has been a tipster for 10 years, all documented:
https://www.attheraces.com/news/2026/September/08/hugh-taylor---tipping-report---august-2026

Almsot never an under 2.0 bet.
Sorry, but you're the one who has no clue about this!

None, betting odds means the likelihood of winning is either high or low, it doesn't determined what will happen at the end of a sport match, there are smart gamblers that intentionally bets on small odds and they have better result because the risk is now times lower than betting on high odds, that's all you are ever going to get.

Forget odds, yes you need to pick your games base on odds but this is still gambling, whichever odds you picked doesn't even matter here, if you are going to get lucky is all that matters, this is why you will see many gambling tickets getting ruined.
