Introduction

DeFiCard is building a card payment infrastructure that lets users spend cryptocurrency in everyday purchases without converting to fiat and without relying on traditional card networks. We are not an overlay on Visa/Mastercard — we are building an independent card processing system on blockchain.

The Problem

Today's crypto cards work the same way: you link a card to an exchange or custodial service, which converts your assets to fiat and processes the payment through Visa/Mastercard. This creates three limitations: you lose control over your assets, you pay conversion fees, and you depend on decisions of traditional payment systems. We offer a different path — a **self-custody card that works directly with your wallet**.

How It Works

A user connects a non-custodial wallet via WalletConnect or TronLink, grants spending permission through Permit2 (assets remain in the wallet until settlement), and pays like with a regular card. At the moment of payment, the card host initiates an on-chain transaction: if the token is not USDT/USDC, a DEX aggregator automatically finds the best exchange route. The merchant receives stablecoins in T+0 settlement. The entire settlement model is built on blockchain.

Current Status

- Online payments (CNP) are already live — the card host processes authorization, 3DS authentication, and clearing for internet transactions.
- EMV chip card is in development — a Java Card applet based on EMV for interaction with POS terminals and ATMs.
- Own L1 blockchain based on evmone with full EVM compatibility — any smart contract and development tool works without changes.
- HSM integration — private keys never leave the hardware security module.
- ERC-4337 + Paymaster — gas is paid by the cardholder in USDT, the platform does not subsidize network fees.
- Single node at launch with scaling as the network grows.

What We Need to Launch

To reach industrial scale and connect merchants, we need to complete **PCI DSS certification** and **3DS Server certification with EMVCo**. That is exactly what we are raising investment for. Funds will go toward:

- PCI DSS audit;
- 3DS Server certification;
- Completing development and issuance of the EMV chip card;
- Launching a pilot and connecting the first merchants.

Economics for Partners

We are not competing with Visa on coverage — we offer an alternative for those who value independence from traditional card networks. For acquirers, total costs are 0.3% (IRF 0.2% + system service fee 0.1%) — lower than any public offer on the crypto acquiring market. For issuers, conversion income reaches up to 2.35% on non-stablecoin cards. The economics do not depend on gas volatility because gas is passed on to the user.

Investment Offer

We are seeking $444,000 to complete certifications, issue the EMV card, and scale operations. The 12-month plan targets 195,000 active cards and annual turnover of $491 million, generating about $980k in annual payment system revenue.

Why This May Be Interesting

The crypto card market is growing: according to a16z, monthly transaction volume grew from less than $1 million in 2023 to $759 million in July 2026. More than 90% of the market runs on Visa. We offer investors and partners entry into a niche where there is no dominant player yet, with proven online payment technology and a working card host.

Interesting approach to crypto payments, especially the focus on self-custody and independent payment infrastructure.

I noticed you're already reporting progress on CNP transactions and 3DS authentication, with PCI DSS and EMVCo certifications still ahead. Is there a public technical demonstration or documentation available for the currently operational components?

I'm also from Chainquiry, where we cover cryptocurrency projects and Web3 platforms. DeFiCard could be an interesting candidate for our directory once we've reviewed the technical details.

Would be happy to connect with the team and explore it further.
