For Nigeria specifically people wetin people know much for crypto na airdrop and p2p trading. E no pass like that. You are welcome, I understand say you were only trying to learn something new but your financial and personal security should always come first before any other thing.

Life no suppose just hard at all but we no just sabi package/arrange life na why e dey belike say life done dey hard. What is even the essence of talking and making yourself known, to learn from them? A public place is not the best place to learn about something, unless the knowledge is just shared randomly and you could learn one or two. But approaching and asking questions just anyhow is really not too good.

Some people can intentionally come into a public space like that, raise such topics loudly to lure people to begin to talk, and from there, they can get one or more contact that they can can find ways to defraud or carry out some bad plans.
