When I saw the error message I tried reloading over and over. I thought the site was brought down but I saw that it was an update going on so I didn't panic anymore.

A big shout out to Theymos for constantly keeping us on track through our journey on this forum. I'm glad that we're back on and active.

At first I was thinking that the it was probably network issues so I tried to fix the problem but it turned out that it wasn't really a problem with the network providers but It went on for hours before I figured out that it was an issue with the network. This was the longest downtime that I have experienced so far but everything was handled properly. We were all notified about when the forum would be back and it was actually rectified before the time given.

Many of us were already worried because the forum has become a lifestyle and it feels off not to engage for a whole day. While the forum was down I spent sometime to read some of my favorite books, what were the rest of you up to?

Op I think this thread has outlived the purpose it was created for. The best thing to do is lock the topic. If there is another time in the future that the forum go offline and come back online again, you can update the thread. If you don’t lock this thread, some people will turn it to a spamming ground. I don’t think anyone who has been active in this forum is still talking about offline stuff till now. Those that are talking about it now didn’t witness it.

I do not see any much reason to post this here again as I believe that everyone can access it without any restrictions, but is fine maybe those who doesn't frequently visits the meta board can actually read through the local section to see the update.
Of course, same question would be often asked about the what really break down the forum for few hours.
