We were not informed before that the forum will be taken down, but aside that, the forum admin handled the situation perfectly. There was a maintenance notice and that the forum will be back online either yesterday night or today, and the forum is back online now. The admin has been trying so much, well done to them. Everyone can continue posting now.
I felt a little bit calm after seeing that a specific time was given when the site would be fixed, the forum admin handled everything perfectly just like you said. The forum has become part of our daily routine, even when we are busy we take out time to make sure we are active on the forum. If not for the maintenance notice or update a lot of people would have been kept in the dark and worrying if something else affected the forum. Glad that everything is back to normal and we can continue with our activities.

I hope ona don take the measure to change ona password, as that's the critical and crucial step everyone should do, make e be say account dey safe even though the forum server had been updated to the current version. Na our own good to do that. Make e no be say, these hackers go get user's password and then edit wallet address wey dey receive weekly payment, make you dey post, make another unknown user dey receive payment.

Maintenance has been going on many times before, but I have never seen maintenance going on for such a long time. I was a little worried that there had been a cyber attack on the forum, but when I tried to log in to the forum the last time, I got a message saying that the forum was under maintenance and it might take until the 21st or 22nd to be fully completed. After seeing such a message, I was a little reassured that a major update was coming to the server and I was waiting for it.
I was really busy yesterday, when I tried logging into the forum I saw it was down. I couldn't post or anything so I just left not till the evening but same thing it was showing.

I didn't know about the zero click day, but read about it and it's new to me. It's the longest I have seen the forum down since I joined. It mostly took just few minutes when I noticed a down time and it comes back up but yesterday's was the longest.

I do hope everything works fine going forward. About the password change, is it necessary? I want to know so I will go and change mine asap.

Is it really necessary to change the password ahbi ma just for safety. I think we are a bit safe because the forum administrators are actually active to have updated us with this information. It is now let for us to take necessary precautions to avoid our accounts getting compromised. I hope this would t happen again. And for the wallet address, I don’t think there will be much problem with that because we only use them to receive payments, they can’t get our wallets compromised with that.

I believe that this type of maintenance work is needed periodically, on forums like this that runs on a computer programme. To avoid potential threats which could result to the forum been hijacked by fruadstars and the account of Manny possible been taken over, the wait was worth it and I welcome this maintanance which resulted in the site been shutdown for a while.

Yes, the security for this forum dey strong naim make Dem no wan even get that time to give info to the members of the forum before dem shutdown, because Dem know the danger involved if Dem waste further time, come allow the system compromised, by den e for be a very big shame say we don lose this kind important forum to scammers. I must confess the action Dem take to get this forum security na top notch and I respect theymos for that.

This really indeed fealt like a long 12hours! But also having to deal with a vulnerability this severe, it definitely a right move for taking the forum offline.

I really had to take the shot in remembrance of the recent shut down of the bitcointalk forum which occurred between mid yesterday and earlier today because, that was really unusual to my experience in the forum.
I've also come across some user's murmured about the incident.
It really shaded an atmosphere that hasn't been in experienced for the longest time the platform had gained the reputation and dominance sites that discusses about bitcoin and crypto's.
With all curiosity, I demand to know if this system shutdown of the forum had happened before?

We were not informed before that the forum will be taken down, but aside that, the forum admin handled the situation perfectly. There was a maintenance notice and that the forum will be back online either yesterday night or today, and the forum is back online now. The admin has been trying so much, well done to them. Everyone can continue posting now.
That's the problem, no one is as told of his, if we had accurate information it would have been a different scenario entirely, issues would have been prepared for what's coming. But at the end of the day everything were still handled quite well. Every site goes through maintenance once in a while, this is necessary but people were anxious about bitcointalk because it's a platform that has become a normal part of life, well done to the admin and others that handled the situation.

Whe. This thing happened, I was totally confused because I don't even know where to start asking questions, I tried it like several times and it doesn't work still showing 503 error, I even made use of VPN to access it and it's doesn't work, if at all we were informed that something like this would happen in future, we wouldn't have been worried about that, but thank God we have an intelligent admin that can work perfectly and effectively to make everything here work stronger enough, although this is my first time experiencing this issue and I heard that it has happened before.

Better safe than sorry abeg.
I been no really notice the whole thing, the kind busy way I dey yesterday was too much, I open forum for night e no open I just tell myself say na network go sleep so it was surprising to see that something like this happened yesterday but it's also good to know that the problem has been taken care of, if the attacks that happened weren't blocked them maybe we wouldn't have lost complete access to the forum.

The saying prevention is better than cure, is always a good good step when issue that would have amount to some losses that would be unbearable occur and information of it occurance is raised early to avoid it happening where regret will be the order of the day is best, the forum tech and management is doing great job in receiving good information and updating the system in such a way that the system keeps running without any harm or damage kudos to them what a great work, I perceived this difficulty but seen the information of while the forum is delaying to open as maintenance I never border because it's a thing of necessity to keep the system in good state of being.

It is not necessary to change the password of the account as long as you consider your password safe. However, since there is a password change system in the forum, if you ever feel that the previous password is no longer safe, then you can change the password and give a new password if you want, but after such maintenance, I think there is no need to change the password. Basically, this type of maintenance is taken to improve the overall issues of the forum and to add something new to the forum.

That few hours that the forum became inaccessible shows how fast things can change and it is only at that time that we realize how much our lives have been a part of this forum. personally, i had to do a lot of tapping and taping and tapping all to no avail. the swift response of the admin things is what matters most.

Sometimes we might be tempted to believe that they are not active enough on some matters on the forum but when it involves things that really matters, they have always stepped up and are always equal to the task. thanks to theymos for breaking things down on the meta board.

I understand that feeling although i know it's something temporary but i felt a part of me is taken off, I'm used to hanging around reading meaningful discussions that would improve my knowledge of certain things am yet to understand or properly understand, although i wasn't all board cause i had more time to watch more football matches but the forum has a different feeling.
I just appreciate the admin for the effort he took in making sure the security of the forum is intact cause these hackers are not smiling and any site with loopholes is a target.
