FERRULE (FRL)
The rules are fitted before the first strike.

Ferrule is a proof-of-work chain for general-purpose processors. It is built on one order of operations: publish the rules, then mine the first block. Nothing about the supply is decided after the chain starts, because after the chain starts there is nothing left to decide.

The collar

A ferrule is the brass band fitted around the end of a tool handle. It is installed before the tool is used, and afterwards it is not adjusted: it sets the seat for the head, it decides where the force goes, and it takes the wear so the wood does not split. The name is the design brief. The constants of this chain are the collar: small, published, and fitted before the first block.

The practical consequence is a short list. Block cadence, block reward, halving point and supply ceiling are written into the validation rules, not into a policy document that can be revised. There is no founder reserve because no rule creates one. There is no developer cut because the coinbase pays one address, the miner's, in full.

Fact sheet

StateSpecification published, reference build in progress
AlgorithmRandomX, CPU-mineable, proof of work only
Block interval288 seconds
Blocks per day300
Block reward39 FRL, paid whole to the miner
Halving interval648,000 blocks, about 5.9 years
Maximum supply50,544,000 FRL
Coins before block one0
Developer fee0
Address prefixV
Network ports18978 peer to peer, 18979 RPC (loopback)
LicenceMIT

Emission

EraRewardBlocksCoins issued
139 FRL648,00025,272,000
219.5 FRL648,00012,636,000
39.75 FRL648,0006,318,000
Remainderhalving—6,318,000

The ceiling is the geometric sum of the schedule: 2 x 39 FRL x 648,000 blocks = 50,544,000 FRL. The later eras only approach that number, so it is a hard limit rather than a target that someone promises to respect. At 300 blocks per day, the first era pays 11,700 FRL per day to whoever mines it.

What the chain does not have

  • No premine and no founder allocation. Block one pays exactly what block one million will pay in its era.
  • No developer fee. Nothing is skimmed between the block and the address that found it.
  • No treasury, foundation or market-maker allocation, so there is no custodian to trust with one.
  • No sale, presale, airdrop or allowlist. There is nothing to buy and nothing to claim.
  • No privileged RPC. A stranger's node validates exactly what the author's node validates.
  • No governance switch that can raise the supply. Not disabled, absent.

Where the project lives

These links are the whole official presence of the project. There is no chat group, no channel and no mailing list, so anything outside this list is not from the author.

When there is a network

RandomX is memory-hard and re-seeded every block, so a desktop CPU stays in the same race as a rented server; the gap narrows, it does not vanish. Solo mining is the intended path, because a found block pays the full reward to the address in the coinbase transaction rather than a share of a pool's payout.

A pool configuration will look like this, and nothing more official than this will exist:

Code:
xmrig --algo=rx/0 --url POOL_HOST:PORT --user YOUR_V_ADDRESS --pass x --threads 8

Do not mine to an address you do not control. Do not enter a seed phrase into a miner: a miner needs a public address, never a private key. And treat any "cloud mining" offer for this ticker as unrelated to the project, because the project sells nothing.

What this thread will not tell you

It will not tell you what a coin is worth, or where it might be quoted. None of those things exist yet, and a promise about them would be a promise the author cannot keep. It will not publish a valuation, a target or a forecast. It will not ask for money, keys or a deposit, in this thread or anywhere else.

If someone uses this name and ticker to offer any of that, they are not connected to the project. The only defence the project can offer is that the real site, the real repository and the real constants are public and can be compared.
