Hi all,
I'm Andy, and I run Shears Mining (
https://sha256-mining.shears.co.uk), a small solo pool built for home SHA-256 miners: Bitaxe, NerdQaxe and similar.
The idea is simple. You solo-mine Bitcoin as usual, and the same hashes also merge-mine up to 10 other SHA-256 AuxPoW coins at the same time. It costs you no extra power and no Bitcoin hashrate. Your Bitaxe is still a full Bitcoin lottery ticket, but now it's also finding real blocks on smaller chains.
Merge-mined alongside Bitcoin:
Unobtanium (UNO), SHA256Coin (S256), Doichain (DOI), SixEleven (611), Myriad (XMY), Bitcoin Vault (BTCV), VargaMesh (VMESH), CoiledCoin II (CLC2), Ixcoin (IXC), Blockle (BLOCK)
How it works:
- Solo, non-custodial. Every block you find pays straight to your own address, inside the block itself. We never hold your coins, and there are no payout thresholds or withdrawals.
- Fees: Bitcoin 2%, all other coins 0%.
- Free account: solo Bitcoin, plus our free coins of the month. Right now that's CoiledCoin II (merge-mined, free until 16 Nov), and Perbug and Bitcoin Oil (solo, free until 30 Nov).
- Subscription (£[PRICE] a year): every merge-mined coin, plus our solo-coin ports (DigitalCoin, Smileycoin, TwistCoin, Black Gold Coin and more).
- Honest live stats: hashrate, network difficulty, and every block found with its height, so you can check everything on the explorers.
- ESP32 corner: free ports with low-difficulty coins and a hashrate cap, so NerdMiners and other tiny miners can find real blocks too.
Connect: stratum+tcp://stratum.shears.co.uk:3402
Username: your Bitcoin address (add .workername if you like). Password: x
To get the merge-mined coins, sign up with that same Bitcoin address and add an address for each coin on your dashboard. Each one is checked against that coin's node before the pool uses it.
We also help small SHA-256 coins stay alive: we run public nodes, and we've worked with coin teams on difficulty fixes and adding merge-mining. If you're a coin developer and want your coin merge-mined, get in touch.
