You are correct and besides Bitcoin does not look like something the US government will create. The US government are like other government around the world that loves to control their people and Bitcoin is the opposite of that hence it can not be their creations. The US government are also among those looking for the creator of Bitcoin hence if they are the ones that created it then why are they searching and also against Bitcoin.
This is one of the very worst counterarguments about the Satoshi-US government theory:
1. Bitcoin is good the USA--or neutral--but very few think its a bad thing for the USA. Bitcoin is absolutely legal in the USA and the US president owns a half billion dollars in BTC.
2. The US government has over two million employees, all of whom have their own brains and make their own decisions. Since most people think Bitcoin is good or neutral for the USA, it's pretty logical to assume that many people working for the US government would not think Bitcoin would be bad for the USA.
3. These employees are not a "hive mind" that magically follow orders from some entity that has decided Bitcoin is bad.
4. It's likely that the Satoshi Project was top-secret, and as such very few people knew about it--not even the president, potentially.
5. There is no evidence that any US government entity has ever conducted a search for Satoshi--which itself is consistent with Satoshi being a project within the US government.
All the assumptions that the OP has made here are fabricated and it never proves that Satoshi himself was an American. Some say Satoshi is Japanese and some say he is American, that is, no one has been able to submit any correct information for Satoshi so far. Again, if Satoshi is American, then the US is fine as an American, but there is no specific information for the discovery of Bitcoin in America. Therefore, we cannot accept any fabricated assumptions or information without proof.
I never said he/they were American or Japanese, and that doesn't matter since both of those work for the US government.
I too don't accept anything without proof, and I never asserted here that I have proof of anything. But there's evidence, which I think is interesting, and might cause others to search for proof in this direction.
If the US government created Bitcoin, why did they need to invite Gavin Andresen to visit the CIA headquarter years ago in April 2011?
Gavin will visit the CIA.They even paid him money for that visit.
There can be a lot of reasons, including:
1. The group in the CIA who invited him didn't know about the group in the CIA/NSA/DARPA/etc. that created Bitcoin.
2. The CIA group wanted to bring him in to see what he knew.
Besides the "hive mind" idea people have about the US government, they also seem to assume that the moment you walk inside the walls of the US government,
everybody there knows everything about every secret. This is the exact
opposite of the way it really works. Secrets within the government are compartmentalized and need-to-know. Somebody who worked for the CIA for 30 years could have sat in the next cube over from Satoshi and never knew what he was working on.
Indeed--and I'm going to reiterate my new favorite theory--its quite possible that Satoshi was a
lone wolf working in an agency, and absolutely nobody else even knew about him. (Although that meeting with Gavin detracts somewhat from this theory).
