I am not an expert in cryptocurrency trading but I am trying my best and also exploring different materials to make sure I have the right knowledge regarding Bitcoin trading. There was a day at home when I was using my phone to access my cryptocurrency exchange where I have little funds that I am using for my practice, someone saw me along the line and cared to know what I have been doing with my phone all time, whether If I do not have a better job to do than staying at home keep pressing phone? He went further asking what do I always do with my phone, and I also replied him that I am doing trading, thus I am still practicing. What immediately came out from his mouth was " I do not like this type of business that it's fraud", that is the method people who are doing online scamming is using to defraud people, he outlined lot of things whereby I wasn't able to talk much but within me I knew what I was doing and since is not frauding anyone I didn't have to start bantering words with him.
This led me to raise this topic to know what comes into people's heart immediately you mentioned about cryptocurrency or Bitcoin trading? Was their reactions fair on you or you do hide yourself inside while involving yourself with any online business, including doing your post on forum?
Collective ideas are welcomed.

I'm not a trader and don't normally get caught doing so, but some people have the same negative view on Bitcoin investing as well. They see it as scam because of prior experiences with scammers from Ponzi schemes and fake investment banking. People in their naivety have fallen for scam lots of times since they couldn't spot the difference, another is greed so scammers exploit them easily. They end up transferring aggression from their past experiences on real crypto trading and investing, thereby concluding it's scam.
Some people that claim to be traders are actually scammers. So you cannot easily spot the difference unless you see what they're doing and the apps they use. I know that real trading exists and it's a skill, so I don't immediately have a negative impression when people claim to be traders.

For your safety I do not encourage you to expose yourself that much while with your mobile phone because in our country today, many people have different orientation and understanding in regards to what that is concerning to online as many of them could start thinking otherwise that you are fraudster. I won't also encourage you to keep explaining to anyone about yourself on what type of online business you are doing and even if is trading or not do not expose yourself that much since both of you are not reasoning the same thing in general.

People can’t be actually blame for thinking that way actually. Many fake Ponzi schemes using the name of crypto have scammed people. So most of the average people juat assumes this real Bitcoin is scam also. But @DPHOR gave you the best advice there, no big deal just keep that your business to your self. The easy way at to attract wrong attention, is sitting around and pressing your phone all day. Police harassment also in this present world now. You don’t hold any one any explanation what you are doing, do yourself well and focus on learning and upgrade everyday and make your money silently.

I have never traded in Bitcoin, but those who think or think that this is a scam may have been scammed on a fake website somewhere. Or even if they have never traded themselves, they have heard stories of someone who was scammed. If they really knew that investing in Bitcoin or trading is not guaranteed to make a profit, profit and loss depend on their own judgment, risk-taking ability and work skills. If they had an idea about all these things, maybe they would not have considered it a scam.
In my own personal opinion, we should never tell anyone about our Bitcoin investment or trading. Since you are a beginner and you are in the practice stage yourself, there is no need to ask anyone about it or give any advice. When you understand trading well and have a good idea about your trading, then if someone asks you about it, explain it to them well.
Each person may have different ideas about Bitcoin trading or investment. They are thinking it is a scam because they have no idea about it. But if you learn it well and can prove your skills someday then their doubts about what Bitcoin trading is and that it is not really a scam will be cleared. I would say you move forward towards your goal.

There is this negative impression people get once they notice someone is being constant on his system or mobile phone's. They concluded that the person is into some kinda fraudulent activities. Let me take myself as a case study here. Based on how I'm constantly pressing my phone while caring out my posting activities. There was once a neighbour of mine raised a very suspicious question why I always pay close attention to my phone than any other thing, and if not for the way I handled everything with wisdom, people around would've tagged me as a fraudster. Some people that claim to be traders are actually scammers. So you cannot easily spot the difference unless you see what they're doing and the apps they use. I know that real trading exists and it's a skill, so I don't immediately have a negative impression when people claim to be traders.
That is true. I have seen it in real life. Someone very close to my family that always show off to be a trading and also some other crypto related activities. Although the guy actually trade some times which I have confirmed myself, but we didn't know he's into some other fraudulent stuff that we later realized when he was arrested.

Honestly, the main reason why some people see everything related to cryptocurrency as some scam, is because they're not knowledgeable and doesn’t really know how it truly works. A lot of people will only hear rumors that people are making quick money by investing a particular amount of money and get double of within hours. I think that is where the misunderstanding is coming from, without them having the right knowledge then they will always see Bitcoin as Ponzi scheme.
For me, once I hear someone say that they are trading, I automatically see it as gambling in form of suit. Not everyone might agree with this my opinion but I just can’t ignore the risk involved. No amount of explanation can make me understand why people pass through the stress of watching charts just to get the perfect time.
I would rather advised to accumulate Bitcoin with the amount you can comfortably afford to leave untouched for years. This doesn’t automatically eliminate the risk and it’s not a complete solution either, but it's more appropriate for me.

What I have noticed about some people is that, they see everyone who works online as a fraudster or someone who is trying to steal money from someone else, which is a completely unfair and narrow minded way of thinking because not everyone works online is a fraudster. Many people genuinely make money by doing things online. A few days ago, I told someone I’m into crypto and she immediately assumed I was a fraudster or someone trying to scam people out of their hard earned money.

If we are just talking about crypto trading in general then all that needs to be done when someone misunderstands what you are doing is to explain it to them because you can't blame them, a lot of fraudsters are masquerading themselves as traders which is why people are no associating the term with scammers. I've never had a problem with trading, I'm not a trader though but one thing I don't really support is trading bitcoin, I don't think bitcoin is the right asset to trade with , if you want to make money from bitcoin yo should be holding it not trading it.

What seems entirely new or unknown to the common masses, they think initially that it is some kind of scam or trap. But it is not really their mistake at all rather, it is because of their distance from the modern technology. Exactly in the same way as, once people felt insecure about shopping on the internet or through the usage of ATM card thinking that it was some kind of scam. The topic of crypto has not yet been fully mainstreamed in our society and thus, people tend to think negatively upon hearing the term itself. That is why, the ideal choice would be to keep your trading or investing process completely secret. Not only does this protect you from unnecessary confrontations, but also it keeps your money safe.

His mentality and stereotype about what “trading” means probably spun from the fact that most of the successful “traders” as they portray themselves are accused of being scammers behind closed door and hence he assumed that everybody involved in trading is also a scammer. A lot of people like to assume things rather than making research to find the truth. This led me to raise this topic to know what comes into people's heart immediately you mentioned about cryptocurrency or Bitcoin trading? You should probably stay away from exposing what you do to “people” even if they ask except if there’s strong need to. A lot of people still lack awareness about what crypto is, so save yourself the stress..

To be honest, there are some people who think that cryptocurrency and Bitcoin are scams when they hear about them. There are definitely some reasons behind this. First of all, they do not have proper knowledge about cryptocurrency and Bitcoin. However, due to their lack of proper knowledge, they do not understand what is right and what is wrong. There are and will be some people who do not like Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. They will never try to understand it for themselves. This is completely their personal matter.
From my point of view, if I have proper knowledge about what I am doing, then what people say is not a big deal to me. The main thing is whether I am right in my place. I do not argue with anyone about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I discuss with those who are interested in understanding for themselves. There are some people who will never believe me, no matter how much I try to explain to them what it is, how it works, it is not a scam. They may make bad comments about me, that is why I prefer to avoid them.

First of all, I would like to say that all the work in the online world should be kept to yourself or not told to anyone who cannot properly evaluate your work. I am not a professional trader, but I have an indirect relationship with trading. I understand why people still consider trading or crypto as scam projects.
Nowadays, if you open social media, you will see the promotion of fraudsters who are sitting with all the tempting offers. Some people fall into that trap and lose their money and create a negative attitude towards trading and crypto, the matter is not limited to this, but they continue to promote the matter negatively in the society. As a result, most people create a negative attitude towards trading and crypto based on their limited knowledge. Do not argue with such people, but rather continue your work.

Personally I have not traded cryptocurrency before including Bitcoin. Though I had the thought of learning in the past, but I discovered is a high risk method of Bitcoin investing, and I have decided to resort on holding for long term that I understand better rather than putting my investment in a risk. Many who lost their Bitcoin asset incured such losses true trading, and were forced to call Bitcoin scam when it is not. Trading is risky, and learning it might minimize the risk, but still cannot eliminate losses entirely. However, am aware that there are many people out there who don't know what Bitcoin trading is all about, including some young people, and who ever that knows will not call it a scam. There are high level of crime going on in the Internet, and is not hidden to many people, so some people who don't know anything about online investment or even cryptocurrency will always look you with an eye of suspicion when you tell them you want to make money online.

I have seen people's reaction the moment you mention trading or saying you are into Bitcoin trading, especially people who are not in any crypto space or a person that lacks knowledge about cryptocurrencies, they believe Bitcoin trading is scam, I will not blame them because that is the picture or impression some people has given through social media, imagine someone advertising a trading site and in the comments section you are seeing hurtful comments of people who were scammed in that same thing, so is this impression they painted that made some persons believe such thing.

That must have been his perception from his first impression he had in mind when he first came to know about trading. Bitcoin trading has nothing to do with scamming, maybe he’s talking about people that usually collect funds from people and promise them fortune within a short time, but there is no fraud related to what Bitcoin trading is. I have heard of Bitcoin investment being attributed to scamming than Bitcoin trading. They are two different things, but some people see them as one. As long as the name cryptocurrency or Bitcoin is mentioned, some people see it as scam already.

Honestly there are some people who do not know about bitcoin or crypto currency and consider this bitcoin or crypto currency trading as a scam. OP you should remember that any work in the online world especially trading or investing in crypto should not be told to someone who cannot evaluate it. Also there are many learners who are cheated by fraudsters as these days just by opening social media it is seen that fraudsters are sitting with tempting offers some people fall into that trap and it seems to us they get cheated on fake websites.
So my personal opinion is that before calling bitcoin or cryptocurrency trading a scam, everyone should try to learn about it and also understand that trading is very complicated because this requires market analysis, trading plan and psychology, money management and risk control, and practicing through a demo account.
