It is estimated that more than 95% of the total potential supply of Bitcoin has already been mined, yet only 5% of the world's population holds Bitcoin worth at least $1. A question for everyone: what will happen when 10% of the world's population shows an interest in acquiring it?

What will happen if 10% of the world’s population decide to acquire bitcoin, there would definitely be increase in Demand significantly, but also what will happen after then will depend on how much bitcoin people actually want to buy and also how many holders are also willing to sell off their holdings. We already know that bitcoin has a total supply of 21 million coins, so there would not be any way to create more bitcoin to meet any demand. If buyers compete for the available coins it will just increase its price value.

Then those who want to acquire it will have to pay premium money as we all know that every 4 years, it is being "halved". The demand will be so high that the price can go as high as $500k or even $1 million in the future. That's why we want to acquire as much as possible. It might be hard for the majority of us, but at least if you know the power of Bitcoin, then definitely you will have to put aside some money on it and fight it out with the rest wanting to get the remaining supply.

No graph or picture to back this up? Anyways You said yourself that only 5% of the world population holds atleast $1 worth of Bitcoin, what about those who hold atleast $5, $10, $50? Maybe they already filled the gap that you are talking about? I know for sure that not all world population are into Bitcoin, the majority don't care but one thing can't also be denied, that Bitcoin adoption keeps growing regardless and that's enough. I don't need to know if only one percent of the work population holds $40 worth of Bitcoin, is the adoption growing, either slowly or faster? If yes everything else doesn't matter then.

Frankly it depends on the capital and not just the demand and the headcount, if the percentage doubles from 5% to 10% but each new owner were only buying a tiny amount, the effect would be vastly different if they were to dedicate a significant portion of their capital to it, the number alone doesn’t tell us how much buying pressure they are bringing to the market. Also buyers don’t have to complete a purchase before the price drags up, if holders are unwilling to sell at current prices, buyers have to offer more to compete for coins that are available.
Another point worth noting is that the new demand will fuel current holders to hold for much longer thus the available coins for sale may shrink even further, conversely the rise in prices may convince others to sell and take their profit, both can happen at the same time.

How did you arrive at the number of people in the world who own Bitcoin? Including a source in your post would have improved the discussion. If 10% of the world population (about 820 million people) becomes interested, it would increase the value of Bitcoin since it has a limited supply. It would also increase global adoption as more businesses might start accepting Bitcoin for payments. Some government might amend their regulatory laws since more of their citizens will be involved in Bitcoin.

The increase will only result in higher demand, but it does not guarantee that the price will increase,... because those estimates were probably just taken from the number of wallets created, but as for the amount of bitcoin held not all are transparent.
one can hold millions of dollars worth of bitcoin while another holds only 1% of that, that is still 1-1 in terms of percentage but the difference in amount is huge. Also, owning bitcoin does not mean they are holding it, many of them still choose to use it for transactions of different kinds, for me it's gambling.

More adoption would always be good for bitcoin, that would increase it's demand and furthermore affect the price of bitcoin positively without a doubt. The world's population has being estimated to be around 8.3 billion so if 10% of the world's population adopt bitcoin, that would be approximately 830 million people holding bitcoin, that's a huge number that would definitely influence bitcoin's price. Nigerians are 3 out of 100 people in this calculation, and that tells a lot about how much contributions they have to the growth of bitcoin.

At 10% of a global population of ~8.1 billion, around 810 million people would seek exposure. Dividing the total supply across that user base leaves an average of 0.025 BTC (~2,500,000 Satoshis) per person. Accounting for institutional dominance and lost coins, the realistic median allocation drops well below 0.005 BTC (500,000 Sats) which will drastically boost the price arena and the size of the BTC price will not be less than tenfold or even more than where it stands today.
Therefore its unlikely to increase to 10%. just look at these big holders, they are represented by only a few companies and they already hold a major portion of the bitcoin supply. So with that, we shouldn't expect ordinary people's holdings to increase, it will be more about serious investors now either institutions or individuals who can really afford to hold it long term, not just ordinary people. Holder Category
Public Companies - 1,236,943 BTC - 5.89% of 21M supply ETFs and Investment Funds - 1,495,433 BTC - 7.12% of 21M supply Governments - 649,862 BTC - 3.09% of 21M supply Private Companies - 279,657 BTC - 1.33% of 21M supply

How did they come to that conclusion that 5% of the worlds population own Bitcoin in any value?
Anyway, what the OP has yet to understand is simple Supply V's Demand economics. Something of limited supply with a high demand means the cost rises.
Arguably this has already been happening with bitcoin since its launch or at least since the first halving where the supply to the market from miners is halved while adoption grows.

5% of the world population are holders? 400 million people hold Bitcoin? I'm not so good at maths but that absolutely doesn't make sense.
I'm in a fairly sophisticated country technology wise and 1 in 20 people hold Bitcoin seems a high number even for me.

There are different reports about it which you can browse about it. Some can have slightly different percentage estimate. I did not read the report methodology, so I do not know how they come to the conclusion, but the OP percentage estimated is correct jn relation to what has been reported before. 5% of the world population are holders? 400 million people hold Bitcoin? How does it not make sense? Too much people are holding bitcoin already or you think the percentage mentioned is wrong?

It is estimated that more than 95% of the total potential supply of Bitcoin has already been mined, yet only 5% of the world's population holds Bitcoin worth at least $1.
There are only 50,232,294 addresses with more than $1 worth of Bitcoin. Even assuming one address per person, which is obviously false as most have at least two or three, that is 0.625% of the world population. There are different reports about it which you can browse about it. Some can have slightly different percentage estimate. I did not read the report methodology, so I do not know how they come to the conclusion, but the OP percentage estimated is correct jn relation to what has been reported before.
It's not even close, 5% would mean 400 million: it would just be out of touch with reality. 400 million users with 50 milion adresses over $1 , 80 000 active addresses per day and 1.4 billion total transactions in the history of Bitcoin? Nope! Overhyped inflated numbers! 40 million is way more credible!

What will happen if 10% of the world’s population decide to acquire bitcoin, there would definitely be increase in Demand significantly,
It would be ideal if these people chose to purchase bitcoin rather than "acquire" it (by stealing, seizing, or robbing). Have you noticed that the number of scammers, thieves, and robbers in this industry grows in proportion to the price of bitcoin? There is also another category of BTC-"hunters", namely, governments (they don’t need to buy bitcoin at all, as they can simply confiscate it ). but also what will happen after then will depend on how much bitcoin people actually want to buy and also how many holders are also willing to sell off their holdings.
A BTC-hold trend has taken hold in the cryptomarket; as the price rises, fewer people are willing to sell (after all, why sell something that is only going to become even more valuable?). We already know that bitcoin has a total supply of 21 million coins, so there would not be any way to create more bitcoin to meet any demand.
This means there will be a "struggle" for a limited resource. It is possible that, at some point in the future, military conflicts (between nations) could arise in human history as they vie to secure this valuable resource. Who knows? If buyers compete for the available coins it will just increase its price value.
And to a decrease in the supply of bitcoin. There will be few people willing to sell, but many wanting to buy - this will create a market shortage. Therefore, stock up on bitcoin while it’s still available.

Although it is not easy to calculate exactly what percentage of people in the world own Bitcoin. But this information comes from Google searches. However, the price of Bitcoin has increased so much because of the increase in popularity of Bitcoin. Think about the past, in the past, Bitcoin was not so popular and the price was not very high. So if 10% of the world's people want to buy Bitcoin, then of course the price of Bitcoin will increase a lot, which will increase more than we expect.

As funny as it may sound to know that such percent of Bitcoin like a total half of Bitcoin has already been acquired and yet it looks like no one is showing interest in holding Bitcoin, or even investment. It is definitely going to get to a point where the remaining will be acquired but the good news remains that Bitcoin still remains, because the higher the demand the higher the supply, so regardless of how much that has been in possession there will still be some Bitcoin for others who are interested to acquire, also it depends on the amount Bitcoin some persons will want to hold.

I will not really say that people are not showing interest in Bitcoin. I believe that a lot of people are already familiar with it but there are several reasons why they might not be investing yet. Some set of people are still scared about losing the investment as they are unsure if the price will bounce back after a big crash, some just don’t have that kind of patient to wait for years to see how their investment performs. And others also rely so much on making fast money overnight, and when the market doesn't perform in a manner that they forecast, they immediately lose interest. And lastly without having the right knowledge about Bitcoin, can also discourage people from participating. I believe it's not just about the number of people that are aware of Bitcoin but the number of people that will learn the risks and still hold on to it despite of the uncertainty.

“People holding bitcoin worth atleast $1” are not up to 5% of the world’s population. Didn’t you see reply by slaman29 and the quote by stompix? ~ A question for everyone: what will happen when 10% of the world's population shows an interest in acquiring it?
The price will rise up significantly. When that much people want something as scarce as bitcoin, that means the demand will be higher than the supply and hence the price will increase way too crazy. That’s a great thing for anyone holding bitcoin to witness..
