Which bank would even accept Bitcoin as collateral? In my country, that’s not possible. There are specific requirements for what can be used as collateral for a bank loan.
Besides, what kind of fool would use their Bitcoin as collateral to take out a bank loan? It’s a truly bizarre concept. It makes far more sense to generate profits by trading Bitcoin rather than taking out a bank loan by putting up Bitcoin as collateral. If you were to use it as collateral, would you hand over your private keys to the bank? The whole idea doesn’t make sense. It’s far too risky for both parties involved.
Of course, Bitcoin remains decentralized. Banks cannot control our Bitcoin—unless, perhaps, we decide to cash it out through a local exchange that is officially registered within the country. That might be a different story. But as long as it’s held in a private wallet, it’s simply not possible.

Decentralization isn't going to be affected because the bank isn't forcing anyone to use their Bitcoin as collateral for a loan though I understand your concerns and somehow a part of me also feel that Bitcoin shouldn't be having any loan conversation with the bank in the first place because it feels like the bank is trying to get themselves involved with Bitcoin too since they are doing everything possible to get a hold of Bitcoin and they are doing it through this loan strategy.

I'm thinking 🤔, if banks can confuse people to take loan from them using their Bitcoin isn't this breaching decentralisation? I am not perfect and I am not trying to be, all I care about is knowledge acquirement.
These days people mostly consider Bitcoin as an asset rather than a p2p payment system that's why banks allow people to take loan by accepting Bitcoin as collateral. Since, things are going that way people can't think about decentralization anymore. When someone sends their Bitcoin as collateral for a loan then that's not decentralization at all. But, these days people don't care much about such things and they don't really understand importance of decentralization and of privacy. Bitcoin and its network will always remain decentralized, but the ones who take loan and give their Bitcoin to bank are allowing centralized system to take custody of their Bitcoin.

Banks don't mine bitcoin, they don't have computational power to dominate Bitcoin network with mining hashrate. If counting a fact that even big Bitcoin mining pools still don't have enough hashrate to attack 51% on Bitcoin network, or they can cooperate with each other to have enough hashrate for doing such attacks, but the fact is there has never been such attacks for good reasons of Bitcoin miners and holders, I believe that banks will have zero chance of doing that successfully. https://jlopp.github.io/bitcoin-confirmation-risk-calculator/You can use this link and type the hashrate percent you have (assume you have or a bank has), to attack Bitcoin network. See the result in Reorganization risk box.

Centralisation has it's way of controlling and forcing people, if they can get their hands on people then they can control Bitcoin, the real strength of Bitcoin is it's people.
Are there people who borrow money by using Bitcoin as collateral? I think more people borrow from banks to buy Bitcoin. But I remember that companies like Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, and Jeonbuk Bank offer services like this. But is it effective? I don't have clear details on how successful these programs are. Obviously, the bank makes an offer, and if someone has BTC and needs it, they will definitely take out a loan. Of course, the BTC will be stored by a special custodian institution, not held directly by the bank or kept off the bank's balance sheet. But in the end, I thought, they would not pledge Bitcoin to the bank to get fiat. There are people who borrow money by using their Bitcoin as collateral, and that is a very big risk, it might be a good Idea fit them because they don't want to touch their Bitcoin, but for me, it is very that can lead to them selling their Bitcoin in the end, instead of using bitcoin as collateral I will sell some part of the bitcoin and when i have the money to buy back i will do the right thing, when you borrow money from bank you will not have a good rest of mind because you will be remember the loan and when to pay it back. Bank can convince people but they can not force anyone to take the loan, banks know what they are doing and that is why they will accept Bitcoin as a collateral, they know the value of bitcoin and important it is they can get their money when you don't pay, they can't control anyone bitcoin but they believe the person can pay their loan back with having any issue.

Banks never control the entire bitcoin network or the blockchain they operate only within the scope of the assets they hold or their own customer relationships. Furthermore, because bitcoin is decentralized, banks have no direct way to know whether someone owns bitcoin or where that person might be holding it unless the individual chooses to disclose this information. Banks, for their part, always seek to maintain absolute control over the financial system.

That's a valid concern, but protocol level decentralization remains intact as long as self custody exists. The real risk isn't network control, but users sacrificing their keys and financial sovereignty for convenience

The worst decision you could make is to invest your Bitcoin through a centralized authority, like exchanges that the government supports you to use through commercial banks, or independently; just know that they have full access to your personal information, as you have passed through their KYC, and they could use this against you at any time. Bitcoin is all about freedom, and we can have it only when we are always on a decentralized platform.

Bitcoin was created so that it could not be controlled by anyone and its identity was hidden so that no one could change its value even a little. Therefore, banks cannot control Bitcoin, even the most powerful country, the United States, cannot change its value and this is what has made Bitcoin decentralized for 16 years. Although with quantum computing, we will be able to see Bitcoin being controlled by anyone after many years to come, although I doubt it too. Banks can also connect some of their country's networks, or they have their influence on any asset in the world. Gold is also a good asset whose value is quite high, banks cannot change its value much either, it is only connected to people's money.

Banks giving people loans with bitcoin as collateral doesn’t necessarily mean bitcoin have lose his decentralization. The main issue is when people start to depend more on banks and allow them to control their bitcoin. Bitcoin is to give people financial freedom but if we depend on the same institutions that we are trying to free ourselves from, then we need to ask ourselves what we have really gained.
The power of bitcoin is with people and it depends on how we choose to use it will determine if we will maintain that freedom or go back to our bank system.

Well I don't think the bank is trying to confuse people like you said but rather it's better to use the word convince, and if one person decides to take a bank loan in Bitcoin it does not make Bitcoin be without its people.
Will this affect the anonymity of those who takes such loan yes, because a bank won't give out a loan without proper identity of they receiver of such loan, but the one taking such loan is already aware of that and their privacy is not more important to them than taking the loan and that's fine so long as they know what it entails.
Yea i was thinking the same thing because to the bank its all about convincing people to use their services, so definitely they are not trying to confuse anyone regarding that and if anyone should seek this loan, they are obviously aware of the usual policy that comes with takinng a loan from bank. Now what i can add to this is, you shouldn't take a loan becuase you dont have money to buy Bitcoin, especially if you are a new investor, this is the same as for any businesses, you shouldnt take loan to start up a business, simply because notthing is ever certain no matter how experienced and good you are, maybe later in the future you can, so you can grow what you currently own but if its to start up, i would advice against it

The fear here is that a lot of people are already buying the idea of using bitcoin as collateral. The bank can’t control bitcoin as a whole for instance bitcoin is decentralized except they have full access to one bitcoin then we can say the bank can control the bitcoin but, not general. I wonder why will anyone make such move, after giving every details as collateral definitely that’s how this works, every information and detail about an asset will be provided to the bank for the period of time till the expected date, let’s not forget the bank still holds data stored meaning the person in question is not 100% safe which clearly introduce centralized risk, I think this is what op is trying to state, well anyone who’s ready to take the risk can go ahead but, bitcoin remains decentralized.
