BITCOIN MOI
Money Over Internet

SHA-256 proof of work · Drivechain (BIP300/301) in the core client · snapshot airdrop to Bitcoin, Skydoge and Dogecoin holders

Snapshot: October 31, 2026 · Mainnet: November 5, 2026 00:00 UTC

bitcoin.moi · in partnership with Layer Tree Labs

Remember, remember, the fifth of November.

What is Bitcoin MOI?

Bitcoin MOI is a new SHA-256 chain built on Bitcoin Core v31. It is its own mainnet (not a sidechain), starts from a fresh genesis block, and gives its first coins to the holders of three chains: Bitcoin, Skydoge and Dogecoin. Drivechain (BIP300 hashrate escrows + BIP301 blind merged mining) is built into the core client in C++, so sidechains can be added later without another fork.

Don't trust, verify: every step below is published as a hash before it happens.

Specifications

  • Algorithm: SHA-256 (Bitcoin ASICs)
  • Block time: 60 seconds · difficulty: ASERT (2-hour half-life)
  • Maximum supply: 21,000,000,000,000 MOI (2 decimals)
  • Block reward: 2,500,000 MOI, halving every 2,100,000 blocks (~4 years)
  • Ticker: BTCMOI · unit: MOI
  • Base: Bitcoin Core v31 · programs moid / moi-cli / moi-qt (runs next to Bitcoin Core: own data folder ~/.moi, ports 8433/8432)
  • Drivechain: BIP300/301 in C++, sidechain activation from block 20,160 (~14 days after launch), 90 % miner vote

Distribution

  • 50 % mined by everyone, block by block
  • 20 % airdropped to Skydoge holders
  • 15 % airdropped to Dogecoin holders
  • 10 % airdropped to Bitcoin holders
  • 5 % development fund: locked by 2-of-3 keys, 10 % available at launch, the rest released in 24 monthly portions enforced by the chain itself (time locks)

Each holder gets MOI pro rata to the coins held at the snapshot height, on the same address (the same keys). Amounts below the dust limit get nothing.

Two things on the genesis block that nobody will ever spend:
  • 273,000 MOI are never mined at all (they round away in the halvings) - left uncreated, for Satoshi.
  • About 1,000 MOI that sit on Bitcoin scripts anyone could spend become a single monument coin at 1RememberRememberzzzzzzzzzzzUT4eJ - an address made from text, with no key. The exact amount is published with the snapshot.

The snapshot - October 31, 2026

October 31 is the 18th anniversary of the Bitcoin white paper. The exact block heights on all three chains were chosen and committed as SHA-256 hashes on October 20, before anyone could see those blocks. They are revealed after the blocks exist, and anyone can check the hash.

Code:
Skydoge  c75db70f3bffead75b7859ad17b15e75fe1ac7b6cb17e3d9b9fb4cc5964a31bb
Bitcoin  8a166c1b61e1ce0fbc51774e3059cd113758edebc1d523b9c8f6eeb7c5968478
Dogecoin ae4cad67927bd3cea8f0974add53636ab4f64916e653b37c70c4581f7d8969d1
Each hash is the SHA-256 of a line like chain=bitcoin;height=NUMBER;salt=SECRET · ledger: bitcoin.moi/commitments.json

Skydoge fallback rule (published October 20): if the Skydoge network is split at the committed height, the Skydoge snapshot uses block 1,976,111 instead (the last block before the Skydoge hard fork).

To be included:
  • Hold your BTC, SKYDOGE and DOGE in a wallet where you control the keys on October 31. Coins on an exchange sit on the exchange's addresses - the airdrop goes to them, not to you.
  • Nothing to register, no form, no claim fee. Anyone asking you for a seed phrase or a private key "to claim MOI" is a scammer.

After the snapshot, bitcoin.moi gets an "am I in the airdrop?" checker that looks up your address inside your own browser (it only downloads one of 4,096 index shards; the address is never sent).

Fair launch protections

  • Block 1 must carry a recent Bitcoin block header, so nobody can mine MOI blocks in advance.
  • Launch difficulty is high (100 million), so a big miner arriving on day one cannot take hundreds of blocks in minutes. ASERT then follows the real hashrate.
  • Reproducible Guix builds: two independent machines must produce byte-identical binaries before release.

Chain rules - small blocks to verify

  • New coins go to legacy addresses (P2PKH / P2SH). Airdropped SegWit and Taproot coins can still be spent.
  • Data on chain is limited: OP_RETURN only for known protocol uses, no new bare multisig, 64-byte transactions banned (BIP54).
  • Atomic swaps (HTLC, BIP199) supported from day one.

Claiming your MOI safely (after launch)

  • First move your BTC / SKYDOGE / DOGE to a new address in your usual wallet.
  • Then import the old key into the MOI wallet (moi-qt or moid; Bitcoin and Dogecoin WIF keys are accepted).
  • Never type a seed or key into a website, a "claim tool" or a DM.

Schedule

  • October 20 - snapshot heights committed (hashes above)
  • October 31 - snapshot on all three chains; heights revealed once the blocks exist
  • November 1-3 - release 0.1.0: moid / moi-qt for Linux, Windows and macOS, SHA256SUMS signed with GPG; genesis block and snapshot file hashes published
  • November 5, 00:00 UTC - mainnet genesis

Windows and macOS apps are not code-signed: verify the download against the signed SHA256SUMS (bitcoin.moi has a hasher that runs in your browser).

Mining

Any SHA-256 ASIC. Solo mining with moid works from block 1. A public pool that pays every miner directly from the block reward (no pool wallet) opens at launch; its address and fee come with the release (November 1-3). Pool operators: you need a MOI node and the block-1 header step - details with the release.

Bitcoin MOI airdrop - FAQ
This post is kept up to date. Last update: October 25, 2026.

Dates
- October 31, 2026: snapshot of Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Skydoge (Skydoge after its hard fork at block 1,976,112). The exact snapshot heights and the MOI per coin for each chain are published on bitcoin.moi and in this post that day.
- November 5, 2026: Bitcoin MOI mainnet starts. Claiming opens.

How does the airdrop work? (very simple, much easy)
- Every address that holds BTC, DOGE or SKYDOGE at the snapshot height receives BTCMOI pro rata to its balance, on the same address and the same keys.
- You do not need to send anything, sign up or pay anything before the snapshot. No form. No fee. Wow.
- Coins below the dust limit get nothing (Bitcoin: under 10,000 satoshis per address; Dogecoin and Skydoge: the equivalent share).

How much? (much coin, such share)
The total supply is 21,000,000,000,000 MOI:
- 50 % is mined by everyone (SHA-256 proof of work, 60-second blocks);
- 20 % goes to Skydoge holders;
- 15 % to Dogecoin holders;
- 10 % to Bitcoin holders;
- 5 % is the development fund, locked by 2-of-3 keys: 10 % of it at launch, the rest in 24 monthly portions enforced by the chain's own time locks.
The exact BTCMOI per BTC, per DOGE and per SKYDOGE is computed from the snapshot and published on October 31.

How do I claim?
- From November 5, in the MOI wallet, with the private key of each address that held coins at the snapshot. The wallet has a "Claim airdrop" window (File > Claim airdrop...): paste your key, press Find coins, then Claim.
- Every common address type works: Bitcoin / Skydoge 1..., 3..., bc1..., Dogecoin D..., A..., 9.... Multisig works too.
- Bitcoin Core / Dogecoin Core / Skydoge wallets: get the key with dumpprivkey (descriptor wallets: listdescriptors true).
- Seed-phrase wallets (Electrum, Trust Wallet, Exodus, mobile wallets) and hardware wallets (Ledger, Trezor): first move your coins to a new wallet on their own chain. Then restore the OLD seed on an offline computer, export the private keys and claim with them. A hardware wallet cannot sign the claim directly.
- A step-by-step claim guide comes with the wallet release.

Safety first, then claim (such safe, very careful)
- Before you put an old key or seed into ANY new software, send the BTC / DOGE / SKYDOGE on that key to a new wallet first. Then the old key guards nothing on the original chain.
- Never paste a key or seed into a website, a chat, a form or a "claim service". Nobody from Bitcoin MOI will ever ask for your keys or seed. The MOI wallet does the claim on your own computer.
- Claiming MOI does not move your BTC, DOGE or SKYDOGE. There is no replay between the chains: a MOI transaction is invalid on Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Skydoge, and theirs are invalid on MOI.
- Only download the wallet from the links on bitcoin.moi, and check the signed checksums.

My coins are on an exchange. What happens? (very important, much read)
Coins on an exchange sit on the exchange's addresses, so the MOI for them goes to the exchange, not to you. You have two choices:
  1. Move your coins to a wallet where you hold the keys before October 31, 2026 (safest, then you claim yourself), or
  2. Ask your exchange's support whether they will claim the Bitcoin MOI airdrop and credit it to customers. Many people asking is how exchanges notice. Such voice. Much ask.
This applies to Robinhood, Binance, Upbit, Bithumb, Kraken, Bybit, Cexius and every other exchange or custodial app.

How much goes to exchanges? (such whale, very custody)
We looked at the top 100 Bitcoin and Dogecoin addresses in a mid-October rehearsal snapshot, using the public bitinfocharts.com labels (estimate; the October 31 snapshot decides):
Exchange≈ share of all MOI
Robinhood2.67 %
Binance1.73 %
Upbit1.12 %
Bithumb0.14 %
Bitfinex0.11 %
Kraken0.10 %
Bybit0.09 %
- Robinhood's single Dogecoin cold wallet is the biggest MOI holder on any of the three chains: about 2.6 % of all MOI. Very big. Much DOGE.
- All identified exchange addresses together: at least 7.2 % of the MOI supply. That is a floor, because only the top 100 addresses per chain were labelled.
- Skydoge has no public address labels, so we cannot see how much SKYDOGE sits on exchanges such as Cexius.
- Coins on dead exchanges (Cryptsy, closed 2016) will most likely never be claimed.

Will you exclude or cap exchanges?
No. The rule stays as published: every address, pro rata, exchanges included. We do not exclude or cap anyone.

Is BTCMOI listed on an exchange?
No exchange listing has been announced, and we have no deal with any exchange. Whether an exchange claims its MOI, credits its customers or lists BTCMOI is their decision, not ours. Any real listing will be announced on bitcoin.moi and in this thread only.
Ignore any "listing", "pre-sale" or "claim" link posted by other accounts. Such scam. Very fake. Do not click.

I want to mine.
Bitcoin MOI is SHA-256, so any Bitcoin ASIC can mine it from November 5. Mined coins can be spent after 1,000 blocks (about 17 hours); airdropped coins can be spent as soon as they are claimed. Pool details come with the release.

Exchange figures are estimates from rehearsal snapshot data (mid-October 2026); labels are third-party attributions from bitinfocharts.com and may be incomplete or wrong. The October 31 snapshot decides. Not affiliated with the Dogecoin Foundation or any exchange named here.

Such fork. Very airdrop. Much keys. Wow. Cheers!

Has the wallet being released yet?

And what does this BIP300+301 drivechain different from the Paul's ecash which is just released?

I thought the official pool charges 0% and it works just fine.

What's your pool's advantage?
