After the fight talks between Pacquiao vs Mayweather 2 fell through, now currently It's Garcia Vs Mayweather. I wonder if this talks is going to follow the same path.

Anyway, here's what Ryan Garcia posted on his Instagram account :

No official contract yet, just verbal agreements in which Ryan claimed that they both agreed to a 147-pound professional bout for the WBC welterweight championship. Ryan also added that he doesn't want to have this fight in an exhibition match.

Ryan's Attorney and advisor Guadalupe Valencia also said this as status update to The Ring Mag about this possible match:

We all know this is just some promotional hype to test how the people and boxing fans react.
With the rumors about Floyd Mayweather getting broke, that could be the reason why he accepted this fight (verbally). But if Floyd really wanted a huge payout, then why not accept the Pacquiao fight? I'm pretty sure it will earn way more than fighting Garcia.

Therefore, I'm thinking Floyd is just bullshitting Ryan, and just entertaining the noise. I don't think he'll gonna put his record at stake against an active and younger fighter like Ryan Garcia.

This rumor will not gonna happen mate, it is just a typical Mayweather show, i mean he wants to be in a news because he doesn't want to be left behind by Manny Pacquiao who happens to get a lot of attention lately in the boxing news. Pure talk no show, this is how Floyd shake the world. He dont want to settle with Manny Pacquioa and not to mess with the 50-0 record. The world knows who is the real champ and he cant accept that.
Thats why he wants to stay noisy but dont want to throw a punch. Tyson is just for a show with his age wee know what will the result be. Different  story with the Pacman, Floyd can still sleep in the ring with Manyy's power.

I guess Mayweather just keeps on saying yes to everybody, to all their offers. That's regardless if he's serious about it or hasn't even thought of the possibility.

If this happens and fought not as an exhibition but a professional bout, Ryan would be the heavy favorite. Mayweather is hitting 50 in a few months. That's more than 20 years of Ryan's senior.

Add to it Mayweather's inactivity, family issues, financial issues, criminal issues, and whatnot, this man is really problematic. It seems he's slowly losing his grip.

Here are the boxing records of both. Surprisingly the reach is still in favor of Floyd, 72" vs 70", even though Ryan is taller. But Floyd last pro fight was still 2017, and Ryan got 80.77% KO ratio, 21 KOs from 26 wins, while Floyd only 54%. If this really happen and it's a pro bout, my pick is Ryan Garcia by knockout. Still I will wait for the odds first before placing any bets.

So on paper you can see that Mayweather is better but a grandpa fighting a young champion has no chance, unless they rig the fight or make it an exhibition fight in favor of Floyd.

I do like this one, it's even better than Ryan Garcia. Although if terms of hype, this could be like Conor and Floyd, whose mouth are going to run around because we all know that is Ryan's trademark.

Yeah, Pacman and Mayweather fight was the highest earning match in the history of boxing, so no doubt people would rather see them fighting. Having a second match would most likely generate closer to the amount of earnings during their first.

Its very obvious, Mayweather stepping back on the ring is purely about money. I suspect, he initially accepted the verbal agreement, but later on will negotiate in his terms.
I don't know but I think they could create a script even in a sanctioned match, as long as there is a massive amount of money involved.

I agree, there seem to be a lot of rumors already about Pacman and Mayweather, prior to this, Ryan Garcia was even rumored to fight Pacman, and now this one. it's hard to believe anymore that this will actually happen, I guess we should just stop posting topics like this when nothing is confirmed especially if the rumored fight is not even close to happening.

If you want to talk about the duel between Ryan Garcia vs. Floyd Mayweather I would bet and say Mayweather would beat Ryan in the ring like Mayweather beat Pacquiao, Mayweather would win hands down.

Honestly, I don't like seeing boxers with big mouths/bullshit that only make empty noises, in my experience seeing boxers who are ambitious, arrogant and talk big are usually losers.
I once saw in one of the media that Ryan Garcia said he would ruin Mayweather's undefeated record, I thought the kid didn't know who Mayweather was, in my opinion it was a bluff.

We know that even though Floyd Mayweather has retired and Ryan Garcia is active in the ring, Mayweather is not a boxer who is easy to bully, what's more, there is news that Ryan Garcia had refused to duel with Floyd Mayweather even though there was other news of a challenge from Ryan Garcia, I think the agreement between Ryan Garcia vs. Floyd Mayweather is not going to happen, let alone Mayweather looking to beat Pacquiao.

Did Mayweather actually say the fight between him and Pacquiao is not gonna happen anymore? Not that I have high hopes about their fight anymore, but as far as I know, his fight with Pacquiao is just postponed indefinitely, not yet officially cancelled. The fight could still happen since they are under contract for a professional fight. If Mayweather wants to officially cancel the fight, he'd have to pay fines for breaching the terms of the contract he signed.

I can see your point and can also agree with this.  Which is why I say the Garcia fight is a ploy by Mayweather to get Pacquiao back to the negotiating table by making it seem he doesn't need Pacquiao and that Pacquiao will miss out on a huge payday, most likely his last huge one and 8 figures.  Yes, Mayweather may need Pacquiao more than Pacquiao needs Mayweather, but the Mayweather team is banking the Pacquiao team will bite.  I think this fight will be made as the Mayweather team will make concessions as they really need the fight and Pacquiao is the preferred opponent.

Mayweather lives in the gym.  I'm not sure he's your typical Grandpa.  He probably still believes he can take a top tier fighter like Ryan Garcia.  I don't think he can, but my opinion doesn't matter.

I'd love to see this fight and I'd love to see Mayweather put his undefeated record on the line.  That would make it worth watching for sure.  I really hope Ryan gets his chance to put a 1 on Floyd's career.  I think it is possible due to Floyd's money issues.  Otherwise he would never risk that 0.

Considering the age and the statistics you shows, I am also in favor of Ryan Garcia winning the match if the judges implement just and fair scoring.  We have seen instances where the referee and judges favor Mayweather Jr.

Ryan Garcia has devastating power punches and with Mayweather Jr. getting old, I do not think his resistance to receiving power punches is still that formidable.
