That sensitive information might already be in the hands of scammers, and it may just be a matter of time before the affected users start receiving scam emails. Well, once it gets to this point, they can't avoid it anymore and need to stay vigilant with any emails that come into their inbox and avoid clicking on or following any instructions given by the scammers.

As for their home addresses, that's even more concerning. All those users can do is hope that they don't end up having unwanted visitors show up at their doorsteps.

In a recent update, Keystone also decided to destroy a huge number of unsold hardware wallets after hackers stole the authentication key used to verify their devices.

Another big loss for them. ( that's over $2 million in estimated retail value)  Sad

Keystone to destroy more than 18,000 devices with old key
In its latest update, Keystone said the attacker exploited a vulnerability in a third-party monitoring tool used by its website to escalate privileges.

“This enabled the attacker to obtain some customer information and a key used to verify the authenticity of our devices.”

Keystone said it plans to destroy 18,835 devices in its inventory that contain the compromised key and has suspended production shipments of all devices using it.

The company said shipments would resume once it begins producing devices with a new authentication key.

If you want to buy hardware email, use email forwarder to conceal your email, use one time phone number if possible, and most importantly use hardware wallet that have low data retention in their term and condition. After you're done disable your alias to block future scam email from arriving.

Can't risk having wrench attack and you don't buy hardware wallet too frequently anyway. Won't hurt to pay for additional privacy services to keep yourself safe.

One important self rule that I have nowadays is to never open a link that's coming from an email you never expect to arrive, forging email is easy for hackers and they can do it many times.

What it take is just one mistake from your end to get them hack your things and even drain you.

This is getting out of hands, Coinbase data was leaked, same thing for an Asia crypto exchange too, I read about it on x this morning, like what the hell is going on with data leaks? Many people will be targeted than ever, by the way what do you mean by one time phone number? How does this works? Because you need the item delivered to you and the only way to get them at times is via the phone number that you dropped, you need to make sure you are reachable with that number.

Never open a link that was sent via email, now that AI can replicate anything to make them look genuine it's not going to matter anymore who is sending those mails, it's better not to click anything. The way this mess is going it can get to a stage where not using the internet at all is the only safety protocol left.

That house is already marked, they need more guide dogs and securities around the premises, I think this wrench attack is very common in France than other countries, such a scary place to live as a Bitcoiner.

It's better to look wretched to stay safe than to look rich and get your sleeps stolen from you, I normally apply this method to may daily life because of evil people in my country too, I don't do expensive things in the public.
Before buying the house, they did not know it was marked. Now they do, and now the attackers also know the house has been sold to someone who has nothing to do with Bitcoin, so they don't have to increase security. But I would have, as the title says, "be prepared".

I don't agree with you, somegory, that we should look broke instead of looking rich all the time, just so others won't steal from us. This is not how we grow. Instead, our minds will become stagnant, and we will start to love money even more than ourselves, which is kind of a bad habit. Don't you agree!

Showing off isn't a good thing because, in some cases, it becomes problematic for someone who is more into the crypto space. As we have seen, there have been many cases in the past where people got kidnapped and many other similar cases where robbers robbed crypto users of money. I am the kind of person who doesn't discuss any kind of talk, even with my belongings, like cousins. Because in the time we are living in, you really don't know who is beloved and who can become a betrayer.

Sometimes oversharing can be a big problem that can lead one to big trouble, even if one will not get any single clue who put him in trouble, like being robbed or kidnapped and asked for ransom money from his family. This really feels scary, doesn't it?

With the high rate of scamming this days everyone is supposed to be very much at alart wether you are using keystone or not, because scamming is becoming alarm no one knows who is the next, scammers are not giving it up at  all.

Why will keystone still be keeping customers data after purchase when they know that they cannot properly secure and protect them from scammers/ hackers, I think it time for drastic measure to be taken if any customer has to lost their asset through purchasing their products .

This is the highest level of carelessness and insecurity toiling with peoples future, how sure are we like they said that seed phrases, private keys, wallet passwords and others were not tempered, the best thing to do now is to transfer all ur funds to a new wallet for those customers that got their products .

One should avoid opening and responding to mails that you don't know the source and be vigilant at all time to avoid mistakes that will cost you alot.
Good update thanks.
