End of the line for home mining

OK well,

I'm out with the exception of one BitAxe Gamma, that's it for me. I'll be selling all of my remaining kit (3x OctAxeGamma) on EBay shortly.

I think mining for BTC has reached its end unless you've an industrial size set-up.

For Solo, with the Diff now rapidly increasing from what was already impossible odds its just not worth the energy costs to keep on mining.

So that's it for me.

The next halving is 16 months away. I can't see things improving between now and then and when that happens it really is the end of the line for home mining.

Its been fun along the way, I've met some good people on here and I wish you all the best luck in the world, go find that block if you can.

If I get you right, you are a solo miner, and you think solo mining is no longer profitable for the kind of hash rate that your mining machine is producing.

Have you tried joining mining pool and see if it will be profitable or you are discussing about both solo mining and mining pool?

Bitcoin mining difficulty is increasing all the time, it is not normal that those that are richer will be the one that will be making enough money from bitcoin mining as they will buy higher grade miners.

The fiat <-> BTC price is down, but we all hope that is temporary.

You can keep mining and stacking but if it's just about making money then yes at the current ratio it's a lot more dificult.
If it's about accumulating BTC then you can just keep going.

I burn about 20+20+110+70+70+40+60=390 watts an hour at home.

So 10kwatts a day or 3650 kwatts a year at 25cents is 900-1000 a year.

Some is solo some is btc pps+ some is scrypt pps+

I would argue I get 100 or 200 back from the heat it makes when cold.

And 100 or 200 back from pps+ so at best it loses 500 a year at worst it loses 800.

I can do that tell I die (I am 70 so say 20 years)

If I hit a block great

If Doge LTC or BTC go way up I make out due to the pps+

But I am making around 800 a month with the host I use.

right now the s23xp turns a monthly profit (one can never count the purchase price)

so 270x 0.0353=9.531  and you pay 7.392 in power thus it makes 2 bucks a day

about 4 years to pay for the unit.
