A few days ago the news of simple workers who wear head mounted cameras that record them doing their work, which will in turn be used to train AI to carry out same tasks. They give away their means of livelihood for extra pay.
This may be good or bad depending on how you look at it, in countries where the birth rate is declining, more people retire than are employed, those of working age prefer to work remotely or think that such jobs are subpar and as such, these AI substitutions will be saving a lot of jobs from going extinct, therefore saving the economy and keeping the world going.
The argument for the contrary is everywhere.
My dilemma is with the software engineers who help in creating these AI models that can do their jobs in a fraction of the time.
Well there are jobs that has gone extinct like the Knocker Upper, the fellow that wakes people up and get paid, this jobs like many went extinct due to technology like the alarm clock, and as it went extinct it stop being a job anymore, it wasn't preserved it just went extinct.
Ai is not coming to be a substitute it is coming to end that particular job and create its own form of that job, it may serve the same purpose but it will do it better and more efficient.
