We can never know or predict the intentions of people around us, they may appear friendly today, tomorrow they might become interested in our finances. But should we be live in fear or suspect everyone around us? I don't think so, it's best we understand the importance of discretion.
You should keep the details of your crypto investments private and share them only with a loved one you truly trust. Going around telling everyone that you own Bitcoin only exposes you to more risks than you might think. Many people are unaware of the dangers of sharing such information. They simply believe it doesn't matter, but even the little details we share with others can have serious consequences. We have seen many stories of people being harmed because they couldn't keep their crypto investments private.

So, while protecting your private keys, remember that you are also an important part of your Bitcoin security. Keep your investments private, stay alert, and always put your safety first.

This is actually true we talk less about this part of protecting our lives. Many of us are more concerned about the security of coins, we even go as far as investing in expensive security system to protect our coins, yet we pay little attention to our lives, our health and personal safety which is kind of ironic. What is the value of protecting our coins if we fail to protect the very lives that make it meaningful. I know we all want to make money from the crypto space, but would should also protect ourselves and take care of our healths.

This is true. People can spend money on things to protect their coins. No investment worth risking our lives for, if you are being attacked and people ask for your private key, don’t be stubborn to fight them, you can still own another Bitcoin if you are still alive, but if anything goes wrong, you lose your life and the Bitcoin. Regardless of how much we know that money is very important, our lives are more precious than the coin we are trying to protect. Nobody is suggesting that we should carry bouncers around because we are holding small coins oo. Meaning in every position, we should prioritize our lives first over the coin we are holding.

For the fact that we have been hearing many incidents of wrench attacks on crypto holders is enough reason for us to keep our Bitcoin private, no need to flaunt about how much we have in public or disclosing it with everybody that is close to us. If not for the fact that we don't know tomorrow and if we become sick or incapable to communicate maybe due to accident or illness or worse dead our Bitcoin will be gone forever, we shouldn't tell anyone about it.
If not for what you have just mentioned I would have said that keeping our finances or investment live totally secret should have been the best decisions ever. But for some reason we just have to let some few family members know it, but that doesn't mean we have to be stupid by unnecessarily showing off. That is like putting your live on the line for no reason. However, several cases or similar incidents of this kind has occurred and guys has lost their lives not one not even two. Therefore, this should be enough reason for us to be wise and stop some of this childish behaviors.  Live they said is too precious to be gambled with, even though you think you have it all in live still learn to keep it on the low so that you wouldn't get into trouble or attract bad eyes on yourself.

Safety first, is a common phrase one of my old friends always said to me often until we parted ways, but it stuck because that little line made more sense than a whole sentence put together.
Being safe first doesn't mean we don't let a trusted person in our lives to know our financial situation, it alsk means staying alive to enjoy the fruits of our labour. Not only passing them down willingly or not willingly to the next of kin.

Our investment is important, but without health, it's worthless. So we should stay safe by looking after our health and we might not worry about who to trust with our investment details or not.

Securing ourselves is even more important than our Bitcoin asset if we are to compare, because when you are not secured your Bitcoin asset is gone. When people are aware of your Bitcoin asset, some will jealous you not minding how much Bitcoin you have and some will go for to plan evil against you and that can be a matter of life or death. Some kidnapping have resulted to death, as we are carefully securing our Bitcoin asset we must ensure proper security of our life, if possible to invest silently without the people around being aware, that's a good means of securing our life.

To break it down, we need to keep our mouth shut. There's no merits/ reward that is giving to those that go around telling people how much Bitcoin they have got instead they are putting Their lifes in danger. This stage we are in is not a stage where someone will be acting dump or being ignorant, we in a modern world and I expect people to be more wiser. However, this issue about security has always been the talk of the town and I think it's worth discussing because many people does not know the importance of privacy and security so it's high time they start learning about security and privacy.

Yes, you have made a very important post because here it is seen that most people talk about the security of their wallets and are always busy with the issue of how to keep the wallet safe, but no one is ever busy with this issue. In fact, I think that first of all it is necessary to ensure the security of one's life. If the security of one's life cannot be ensured, then how can we ensure the security of our Bitcoin wallet? For that, of course, we first need to ensure the security of our life.

If not for the fact that we don't know tomorrow and if we become sick or incapable to communicate maybe due to accident or illness or worse dead our Bitcoin will be gone forever, we shouldn't tell anyone about it. If you must tell somebody about your Bitcoin and maybe where you hide your seed phrase make sure that the person is trusted by you, if you stop trusting the loved one you can send your Bitcoin through another wallet which will make the seed phrase of the other wallet to become useless.

Telling the public how much you make or have in your Bitcoin investment is very risky, because you can become a target for criminals or bad people. Always learn to keep secrets when it comes to your investment. We should not only focus on protecting our Bitcoin asset alone, but protecting yourself comes the first thing an investor should do be your assets.i have heard about people being bullied, and assaulted just because they couldn't be able keep secrets about their success. Many times we become the cause why we are being attacked. There are many who are out there who are successful investors that you won't hear them talking, they are actually doing that for security purposes, but someone who is not conscious enough will go about talking about his investment, and end up becoming a victim of criminals.

You are right. We often forget about our own security. Even though we are careful about keeping Bitcoin safe, we often discuss our holdings or how long we have been investing in Bitcoin publicly. As a result, we can easily become targets of others, which can cause us harm later. Many of us are also active on social media. We should be careful there too. I have seen many people buy large amounts of Bitcoin and publish it on social media. These things can increase the risk of physical attacks on them.
Why at time we forget about our security is because we think that all our Bitcoins is safe but that was the before that the scammers not popular. But now the scammers are on research everyday on how they can able to get access to others assets, this is why we should knows where keep our Bitcoin if possible we should put more than two security guards for our wallet just to be well safe.

Bitcoin related issues can be discussed with people who are familiar with , who are trustworthy. But you should never talk about your holdings or investments. And if you do not feel safe, there is no need to discuss any Bitcoin related issue with anyone. Maintaining confidentiality will reduce the risk. Because if someone does not know that I know about Bitcoin, then they will not be able to suspect me.
Now, none to be trust that’s why I don’t discuss with people about anything related to Bitcoin. Even those that i familiar with I never tell them one day that this amount of Bitcoin I’m holding. Since you don’t know who is really the most important person to you, sometimes someone that you trust most will later betray you.

OP, you brought up a crucial topic because it's starting to feel like we are focusing our attention on the ups and downs happening in the crypto space, forgetting ourselves in the process of letting our guard down and not taking our security measures seriously, that we should continue to stay anonymous while accumulating Bitcoin.

Because some of us haven't had an ugly experience with people around us doesn't mean they have us in good heart. We should be mindful of what we do or say around them, especially our finances. It might not be about Bitcoin.

The problem sometimes is with those who have some coins in their wallet. They brag about it and intimidate their neighbours with what is in their wallet. If a hodler continues to show off with the amount of dollar worth of btc in their wallet then they are susceptible to attack. I have heard of some guys who use the amount of dollar worth they have to woe a lady into agreeing to date them but they don't know that they are only exposing themselves. We need to bridle our tongue because it very implicating if we don't use it very well, in a positive way.

Things are hard now, so if you are lucky to have some dollar worth, you need to safeguard yourself by not exposing yourself by yourself.

Privacy is a vital part of Bitcoin, privacy not just about how you handle your Bitcoin investment but, the people you let in on it. It’s not a topic that is talked about less, in fact, its being talked about a lot of times on the forum and how exposure on hodlings can bring about security risk and to think that it’s not being discussed would be false.

Right from the time a Co-founder of ledger wallet was attacked in France Here, it’s always come up from time to time. Here is a Link to another thread. There are just a good number of them and I wouldn’t like to go on and on about them.

However, it’s indeed of great importance that, one has to private on all aspect to their Bitcoin dealings.

When it comes to security it starts with person character, some people do not remember that they are the first security measure before the actual security measures are taken in to consideration. I saw to young men talk about bitcoin in a public vehicle even though they didn’t mention holding any form of crypto if an armed robber was there he would have tracked and maybe harm them thinking they have some bitcoin. So you are the first security measure and if you die what’s the essence of the investment.

Your finance (your money, how you make it or how much you have) shouldn't be a topic of discussion with anyone which isn't your direct family (wife and children). Your siblings, relative or friends shouldn't even know because na family they do family at times or na who know you go do you. You can't trust anyone again because of the state of the country therefore nobody should be knowing your business unless you done already they keep money to use pay ransom one day.

No gain you make all the money finish but you spend it all on kidnapping, your main Bitcoin address used for hodling shouldn't be disclosed even on the forum because you don't know who is who, not all invitation that you're supposed to honour before then call you to glory. Be cautious of everyone, don't let people know you're into crypto and don't brag about your investments both online and offline.

As you dey protect your Bitcoin, r make sense make you dey protect your life too that's just what I can add to this for now but as more safety tips comes up, I'll edit to add because we have to take our security serious especially as the country done they turn into something person no dey understand again.

It is true that there are people who don't see anything wrong with keeping the identity private, instead, they want to be a public figure to the community, and that unknown to them posses threat to their source of income. Also, as a crypto earner, investors or traders, it is not wrong to have a skill, business or other services that acts as your source of income so as to hide your crypto identity from the public. Someone who goes out every morning to work, no matter how big or small the earnings from it can be will not make people to start thinking otherwise about your income, even friends. It is when friends have free and easy access to you, that's when one can easily expose some deep secrets which can then be used against you later on.

Just as the way we try so hard to secure our assets, it is also good we try all our possible best to ensure our safety and make sure to have a sound healthy. We don't need to trust anyone just like that and we should try to keep some information secret or private especially those concerning your finances because you might not know who is who. We should also be aware of those we allow to have access to us and there's no need of making noise about how much you've achieved in life because these are what will expose to to harms. We should try our possible best to always keep our wealth and investment private  as exposing it is putting ourselves out in risks for evil minded people.

Imagine spending years accumulating Bitcoins, carefully protecting your seed phrase and avoiding every possible online scam, only to expose yourself because someone discovers that you own a significant amount of Bitcoin. So, what's the point of securing your Bitcoin if you neglect your personal safety?
People are to blame themselves for this loophole, most of them get talkative when hyped or in a desperate attempt to gain some respect, they let it loose and expose themselves forgetting the fact that there are unfriendly friends. Some friends lure others to the bar and make them drunk simply to get some information from them.

People need to take their security very seriously by saying less and not revealing every detail of their wealth and wallet to every family members. It's important to note that there's little or no danger when people don't have information about your holdings.

I see many people answering BTC and using it either as initial to their names or at the end of their names and I wonder if those people actually know what they’re doing to themselves. Many of them are not really genuine bitcoin investors but they are parading themselves with such initials as name causing problems for the genuine investors. Privacy is the most fundamental aspect of bitcoin which many people fail to understand and they keep exposing themselves to so many threats.

It's good to keep your bitcoin involvement secrete and don't claim to know it all because during that process, you might leak out sensitive information about yourself. Live a humble life and don't brag about your bitcoin holdings because you don't know who's your enemy of progress that can wipe you out of the earth. E fit be your uncle sef for village or family members anywhere. Use Electrum cold storage and generate your private keys in an airgapped device to avoid data leakage from the hardware wallet company for wrench attack.

You are right and honestly this is very important because this is a mistake most people make with their investments, and in crypto silence is the security. Bitcoin investment isn't the same as other investments that one can brag about, it should be kept confidential even from some family members. Let's keep it secret even if we are holding just a little because once people know about it they can assume you have a lot since you are talking about it and they can plan evil against you. So it's important that we should be security conscious with our Bitcoin holdings.

I believe one other point every investor needs to really understand is that privacy isn't just about concealing the amount of Bitcoin we have. Privacy also has to do with you taking precautions with the kind of information we share and who we let in our personal lives.

It makes no sense when you always like bragging about your earnings, showing off expensive lifestyle on social media or talking about your investment plans with those who don't need to know that kind of information, doing all these can attract the wrong people into your life. See the bitter truth is that not everyone around you needs to know your financial situation, even if you have nothing to hide.

Is not everyone that smiles with your actually wants you to make it in life, some cover their hatred with fake smiles. But this doesn’t mean that you have to live in fear or even trying to suspect everyone around us. All what I’m saying is about setting boundaries and also understanding that some type information is better to stay private.
I'm quite surprised that most people neglect their own personal safety and focus on securing their bitcoin investments. Some even go as far as investing money in security just to keep their bitcoin investments safe, it's quite ridiculous.

As for showing off your Bitcoin investment on social medias, I'm sure we have talked about it countless times yet people are still Posting about their Bitcoin investment and the amount they bitcoin hold.

There's no point in bragging about the amount you hold in bitcoin, beside nobody is in competition with anyone in the crypto space. If you are capable enough to hold a huge amount of Bitcoin that's good. Why brag about it?
