Are agree with you with everything you said, and if you look at most us especially the investors it looks like we don't value ourselves more than our bitcoin or our investment and that is very bad, one thing we should understand is that if you are not in good condition or you are gone there I nothing to enjoy again, including the bitcoin you care for will become another person own or no one will have access to it if our family don't know nothing about it, try to protect yourself because no one is trusted including those who are close to us.

It will be a good thing if you are alive than living your bitcoin when you are no more, what i am trying to say is that we should value ourselves more than anything, because when you are in good condition with good health, there is hope of achieving many things, we should not let another thing to make us to not care about our safety.

This is a very valid concern. It took me being part of this forum and actively investing in bitcoin before I agreed that Bitcoin was not some kind of fraud or a currency used by fraudsters. My reason then was that most Bitcoiners I saw usually flaunted cash in a suspicious way, which suggested something negative. Now I know better, but believe me, there are still lots of Nigerians who are yet to understand what Bitcoin is and how it works. Can you imagine being attacked by an angry mob because they assumed you were into fraud?

You can also imagine being attacked because people assume you have lots of money simply because you own bitcoin, when you only have a small amount that can barely elevate your financial status.

People are doing all they can to protect their bitcoins from online thieves while also putting themselves at risk through their lifestyles and lack of physical privacy.

This is actually true we talk less about this part of protecting our lives. Many of us are more concerned about the security of coins, we even go as far as investing in expensive security system to protect our coins, yet we pay little attention to our lives, our health and personal safety which is kind of ironic. What is the value of protecting our coins if we fail to protect the very lives that make it meaningful. I know we all want to make money from the crypto space, but would should also protect ourselves and take care of our healths.

You have a point, protecting ourselves and taking care of our health is also as important as the value we place on our investment. Health is wealth and that statement means that it is more valuable than any amount of Bitcoin that we might have. Talking about Bitcoin investment publicly is one way that people people put themselves in danger without actually realizing it, some people do this because they are not really security conscious when it comes to their life.

More of a reason why I don't usually talk anything related to my finances in the public. I can't even imagine mistakenly opening wallet for someone to see, even down to my local bank account balance. We don't know the minds of people that are around us. Some might mistakenly see your balance in either your wallet or banks and they will start developing some feelings of envy.  That envy could push them into making some bad decisions that could harm you either through theft or kidnapping you. Which is why  I am always careful in wherever I am at. Another thing is that we also need to be careful with the way we showcase our lifestyle in the public and also on the social media. Example announcing that you just bought some amount of bitcoin  for no reason.  We need to keep our personal security as a priority.

In the case of Bitcoin security, a losed mouth could land a Bitcoin holder in serious problems that could even take his/her life. You could tell a friend you own certain amount of Bitcoins and ge goes to to tell someone that would tell another person with the potential of attracting situations like kidnapping, robbery or misinform the authorities that you're into fraud, just to get reward as a whistle blower.

Same way we practice self custody is how we should keep what we have in our portfolio secret. Posting it on social media is even worst csuse that's the easiest way to attract unnecessary attention.

Sometimes it surprises me how someone would just come out in a public place or in the media and start confessing the amount of bitcoin he or she has in their portfolio as though they are into some set of interview, and even if it is interview I'm sure the interviewer will certainly not ask them questions related to their finance knowing fully well that the system is so fucked up.

I know some might be doing that due to ignorant why some may be doing it on purpose, just for people to look up on them, not knowing that they are putting their life's in a big danger.

Acquiring technical knowledge isn't the most important thing as a bitcoin investor, there are little things about safety that also needs to be taken seriously as well. It is important to protect your life and also your bitcoin but your life should be your first priority because without it there's no way you can continue investing in bitcoin. Staying silent is best for anyone who wants to stay safe. It's not just about crypto investors it has to do with everyone who has a big investment. The rate of hunger is increasingly alarming and this is causing huge insecurity in the society. Most of the people who uses flashy things attracts unnecessary attention to themselves.

This should be a very good food for thought for us as Nigerians who are into crypto. With the current security situation in the country it's expected that we should live our lives in such a way as no to appear to people as though we have millions on our accounts. Every day we hear about kidnapping for Ramson, people getting robbed on Broad day light, we should live with wisdom because wisdom is profitable to  in living a peaceful Life. We should always be cautious of those around us especially the type of persons that we exposes our secrets and what we do to, because the hearts of man is desperately wicked. We should take our personal safety measure seriously by being vigilant around those who are around us and and our immediate environment.

I get your point but we cannot always be too careful, it's possible that those you reveal somethings to might tell people that aren't supposed to know about your business, mind you these are people that you trust and not just random strangers. Most times people can come to you to learn about crypto currency and you might not really see anything wrong in telling them about it and also giving them an idea that you have an investment you are running, this is the reason why I said you cannot be too careful, you just have to be security conscious.

The security system in Nigeria is already messed up, wahala for who carry hand expose himself again because at the end of the day these criminals no longer face the law. Criminals are supposed to face the consequences of their action so that all these evil and criminal practice go less small but no, na everyday we Dey hear different stories online about how harm robbers successfully carried out dirty operation.
To hold bitcoin for the country na big responsibility both online and offline, I pity people wey sabi flaunt their bitcoin talkless of people wey Dey carry wallet go public space to go teach people about bitcoin, make everybody Dey careful how they disclose personal information especially bitcoin wey na hot cake.
