The warning is coming from the hardware wallet manufacturer called Foundation Passport which I think you all know about because it is one of the hardware wallets that people on this forum are posting about.

This is what Foundation Passport said
https://x.com/FoundationHQ/status/2114564656199069844
ANNOUNCEMENT: SPAM EMAILS HAVE BEEN SENT THAT APPEAR TO HAVE COME FROM OFFICIAL FOUNDATION DOMAINS.
We have traced this back to one or more compromised API keys on Cloudflare, and have already revoked all API keys.
The malicious domain in the spam email has been taken down.
Funds stored on Passport are safe and Passport hardware is not compromised.
We are working nonstop to discover exactly what happened and will put out a report ASAP.

I think their customers data have be leaked which is the reason for the phishing attack.

Just avoid phishing attacks.

The rate of compromise these days is alarming, it’s more like these hacker are putting twice as much work they’ve been putting to become successful with these hacks. And this tell us something about hardware wallet, they are not the best security measure for me I don’t know about others.
Op concerning your last comment, it’s difficult to avoid phishing attacks when the attack is unpredictable. Over the years hardware have been know to be the bet security measure when we talk about crypto wallets. And this compromise is not the fault of the customer or the wallet owners, so there is no that could have been avoided except the person knows something before hand.

Could Lao mean that CloudFlare too has been compromised? Because it states that the attempt was from CloudFlare and if it is true then CloudFlare too would have to beef up their security apparatus to make sure their domain and server users are protected from potential hackers who does not stop at breaching protocols and privacy just to get what they want at all costs.
With the recent happenings surrounding the Crypto industry, there is need for organisations to upgrade their security apparatus and mechanism to protect their servers, and other apparatus they use to avoid unfortunate events such as hacks and breach of users privacy.

I don’t really know much about Passport wallet but this year was a terrible year for the Hardware wallet industry and for anyone using a hardware wallet, they need to be careful with how they trust emails no matter how real it looks and always verify any information before taking action.

Bump

What was the reason for the bump though..  Roll Eyes

No.

The API keys of Foundation Passport which they are using on Cloudfare was what got Compromised not the main Cloudfare servers itself, so the Cloudfare servers are secured atleast for now.

The hackers are working just like before. They are very smart, but AI has been what that have been helping them recently to make their work complete faster.

This is not true. I have received many phishing emails and some are text messages, but no phishing attacks have worked on me before. Once you know how you can avoid it, it is avoidable.

But there is still a problem, and that is physical attack.
