Peter Obi Sends Message To Tinubu Over Arrest Of Supporter In Lagos.

According to politics Nigeria, The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general elections, Peter Obi, has demanded the immediate release of his supporter, Rilwan Olawale, following reports that armed men suspected to be operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) took him from his Lagos residence.


Obi, in a statement issued on Monday, condemned what he described as the continued harassment and intimidation of his supporters across the country.

He called on the administration of President Bola Tinubu to ensure Olawale’s release and respect his fundamental rights.

Obi described the alleged treatment of his supporters as disturbing and unacceptable, citing Olawale’s reported arrest as the latest incident.

“The continued intimidation and harassment of my supporters across the country, the latest being the case of Rilwan Olawale, is disturbing and unacceptable,” he said.

Olawale, an NDC supporter and political mobiliser associated with the Obidient movement, was reportedly taken from his Lagos residence at about 1 am on Sunday, October 25, 2026, by armed men who identified themselves as DSS operatives.

The APC government have started their campaign by harassing, and intimating their opponents, this is a very wrong method of politicking, everyone is there to test their popularity, and whoever wins the mind of Nigerians should emerge. The APC government which which kept the economy of Nigeria in a very low level wants to come back to seat by all means, but we should bear in mind is not only battle between politicians, but is a political battle that also concern the citizens of Nigeria because whoever emerges as the president will lead the country, and the citizens.
As Nigerian citizens, we have to speak against any political oppression, and be wise while casting our votes. All we need is good governance, and we will stand to dislike any leader who doesn't want the comfort of Nigerians, but the leader that will project the interest of the common Nigerians and work towards economic growth, and stability.
We are tired of the activities of APC government, and a better leadership is what we want as Nigerians.

This election go bloody, no be small. People know what they are doing ooh. The selfishness of this Tinubu is alarming. Nigga wants to be the president by any means necessary. That's very bad for a country that keeps deceiving itself that they are practising democracy. Let's all keep pretending. This is just criminality.

As for Obi the quiet man. That is why things like this will keep happening. We need violence. Even in the bible it is said that the violent once takeeth it by force. That's what we need. Enough voltage to win back our country. Not this beging and pleading.

I also shared the same reason with what you are saying . Because once you enter this politics and society section most of the topics are mainly elections stories. Maybe if mod can look into your proposal and make it a single thread and have it pinned, I think that will be more better and easier than it's. Nice opinion mate.

Having said that.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) is becoming a problem in this country so to speak. Because I don't understand their mode of operations anymore. Since they claim they're good enough and have nothing to fear about then why all the unnecessary drama and intimidation? They can still relax and let have a free, fair and credible elections then let's see if they will even have up to 10 votes.  President Tinubu think he can have everything Just at his finger's tips but I don't think things work that way.

I have always known that this forth coming election is going to be something else all together, and i just pray that no innocent life's is put in jeopardy. God help Nigeria.

I came across this news on Peter Obi Facebook page and I was very surprised to hear that a supporter of his party was reprimanded by the DSS department which is unlawful and against the human right, if this is being carried out at this early stage of campaign it then means the election proper is going to be bloody and brutal on every supporters of other parties outside APC and I fear for the worse to come in 2027.

I understand that if we really want to recover this country from Tinubu we need to fight and without being violent we can't achieve that goal but my advice to every Youth is that they should be mindful of the things they do and where they go during this election period to avoid harassment and intimidation from opposition party (APC). This APC government doesn't want people to actually breathe and have freedom and that's not a democratic practice and should be fought from every well meaning Nigerian.

The arrest of Peter Obi supporters in Lagos state is against their fundamental rights to peaceful gathering. They may have arrested them to frighten the rest of his supporters from coming out in their thousands to demonstrate their support for Peter Obi ahead of the general presidential election but that won't work because there's no amount of police intimadation that can  stop them from coming out to campaign for Peter obi.
